Monday June 6, 2022, was a Public Holiday here in Perth, Western Australia. We take a ride behind Betty Thompson, an 0-4-2 two foot gauge Tank Locomotive built by Perry in South Australia which worked in the Sugar industry in Queensland. At her retirement, the plan was to dig a big hole and bury her due to her asbestos cladding, but fortunately Malcolm Thompson and his team rescued her, brought her to Western Australia and restored her. Here she is, on a round trip on the Bennett Brook Railway in Whiteman Park, Perth, Western Australia. (This video was shot entirely on a DJI Pocket 2 Gymbal Camera, which has outstanding stabilization.) Once again, a big thanks to Purple Planet Music for making their music available for RU-vidrs. I recommend going down to the hotham valley railway, during its steam ranger services. The surrounding nature looks like a painting and you can poke your head out of the window. There's a licensed cafe car and many papers dotted along the train, all telling about history of the engine, coaches and the railway itself. As you may know, Pinjarra station is no longer in use, however it and its assets are still there and can be seen. Coal is often found along the ground, and I was able to gather enough to overfill a mini bucket. I have no idea if you've been to the railway before though I'd like you to make a vid about it in current day. They do have a website if you need the time, history or pictures.

Thank you so much. I already have one video of the HVR on my RU-vid channel; "The Hotham Valley Railway in 1980 with sound". It is silent footage which I have added actual sound to to enhance it. (It terminates at Pinjarra Station) I have another almost ready for RU-vid, featuring a trip on the HVR to the Isandra Siding in 2015. I made this one for myself with music which probably will get copyright claims against it, so I am redoing it with Copyright free music. It will be uploaded in a few weeks. Cheers, Terry.

Thanks. I really like the way the entire BBR crew interacted, even to the wonderful Station Master coming out to wave good bye to everyone. It's one big family. Makes us all want to head out and do it again.

Awesome Video footage Terry. Just wondering if you have seen Railfest 2021 part 2 on RU-vid there is the old favourite XA 1405 shunting and a steamer shunting in the same footage

Great video Terry. When is NG15 123 Fremantle coming back to service and is BT1 still going to run when NG15 123 Comes back or will BT1 Be retired. Is the September Ashley day going to be cancelled or is it going ahead. Was the crew on that day Bob and Isaac as the steam crew and Sebastian as the Guard and who was the 3rd steam crew member/footplate assistant that day.
