@@ethelhorton8646 Tithe was given to Levites and they were given food. New testament says give as much as you desire not out of compulsion. Look as long as you have Holy Spirit then you're all right. You can have all of the money in the world and again as long as you have Holy Spirit you're going to heaven. You must check if you have Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:5) to know you should be learning from the old testament (Romans 15:4) amd trying to obey the 1050 commands of the new testament and not habitually sinning (1 John 2:3-6 & 1 John 3:6-10, 1 John 5:18)

@@cowel8734 True and very good observation. I will use my grandmother as an example. She did a LOT of dirt in her life. Once she got older she turned to God and involved herself in the first church she went to where she was taken advantage of by the greedy pastor. This pastor can be profiting off of people’s insecurities and making them believe money is important. I still think the pastor is more accountable for misleading folks.

Recently my son had dinner with me and was so excited because a couple guys he works who kinda make fun of him some on the jobsite for being the "holy boy" were actually wanting to talk about the Bible with him when he started telling them about King David,Saul etc....because they thought the Bible was just rules. As the child of two well off Christian parents, I would disagree with him. He says we gotta focus on getting money for our children. While we should strive to provide, that’s just one of the things a Christian parent should do. Growing up, I had summer vacations, dirt bikes, extra curricular activities, video games, etc. And I would’ve traded all of that fun stuff for parents who gave me themselves. We didn’t eat together, we didn’t pray together, read the Bible together, etc. We were like four strangers with the same last name under one roof. I don’t want to sound ungrateful for what I did have. I just want to say that a focus on money can leave a family empty and hurting, even as they’re surrounded by things.

That part about the Holy Spirit being the only endowment we know - and that being used as an insult hurt me to my core. As I am reading about the work of the Holy Spirit in sanctification (I recommend Unleashed a book by Dr. Eric Mason) it is sad to hear a Christian undermine GOD in that way. I’ve said this before. I attended this church 10+ years ago - my son was baptized there. There was a Halloween service that was so worldly it led my ex husband and I to write directly to he and his wife (they were much smaller church then). Their response led us to leave and never return. This is intentional blasphemy. They are not unaware.

Whenever someone says god I must ask which one? The beloved Christmas god Tammuz who masquerades as Yeshua Hamashiach the ruach hakodesh? Or God the Father who has a only begotten Son who is the Son of God? 1 Corinthians 8 :5-7. Counterfeit Christianity has a counterfeit god it doesn't dismiss Jesus like an atheist does it puts a false messiah in His place Mt 7:20-23.
