I was actually at this church that Sunday. As soon as I saw him walk up there with a Tupac shirt on, I got right up and left! This so-called pastor also curses in the pulpit while preaching. I refuse to sit under anyone who reps two masters at one time!!!
A lot of us are now removed from the world. When I hear "gospel" songs using the same soundtracks, I immediately sing along with the original words. It's not spiritually healthy for me. I'm sure others can identify.
Amen a good Godly women will love a hymnal on a date. On my second date with wife, I gave her a ride home from our date and I played "crossing rivers and moving mountains" and it became one of "our songs". Oh and we got married!! So yes hymnal all the way
Here is a clarion call to the Church 🗣️...the world comes to the Church searching for God and not for what they're trying to leave. They can get secular music, entertainment and inspirational messages from the world!
Things like this is why I have not gone back to church in years. I pray every day that the Lord brings me somewhere to fellowship. I go to Bible study a few times a month but "I'm tired of the church".
Heb. 10:25 25. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
@@user-nl7pb2vl9m Didn't I say I go to Bible study? I know the text bro, I'm telling you I have been disappointed countless times and I'm not just going to sit in a pew and listen to garbage. When I'm led I will go.
We were just talking about this yesterday, personally I think nothing BUT music praising God should be sung in church. It’s Gods house. Everything we do is supposed to be for His glory. This is bringing “glory” to the pastor and New Edition am I right? It’s not making these people think about God, the amazing grace of Jesus or anything else. Out of church, as long as it’s not vulgar, not blasphemous, fine!
I haven’t watched the full video yet but I was at church Sunday and I realized it was such a blessing to know that nothing but worship music is played throughout the church. Like God really reminded me where I was. Praise the Lord
Why do (some) people try so hard to bring this music into the church...I am not even saying that you can't listen to other forms of music outside of the church...but why mix the Holy with the un-Holy? Why do we persist? Please have mercy on us and help us Lord
A Tupac shirt??? In church ??? For reals .. you a "Pastor" .. if you don't get your midlife crisis unqualified butt out the pulpit 😂😂😂... GOD Bless brother kdub
I probably wouldn't even care about the shirt if it wasn't a rapper who in no way ever professed to be a Christian #1 and regardless of how he started, his rap songs near the end we're horribly detrimental to our community @@MsDisneylandlover
Since the original churches started in homes, it seems to be a move for churches to be very informal , universal, and intimate. Works for some and may not work for others.
Several years ago while waiting for my oil to be changed I was reading in the magazine aisle at Walmart. Two ladies were looking at paperback books just a little way from me. They were unacquainted but discussing which books they liked. One of the ladies asked if the other had read 50 Shades of Gray and pointed out a series of books that were in the same vein. The other lady mentioned that she had felt convicted she was spending too much time reading secular books and should spend more time reading her Bible. The first lady replied she read a Bible passage and Psalm every morning at breakfast and that was God’s Time However, she said she read the trashy novels at night before bedtime because that was Me Time. 🤦
This is why we are planting a church in Jacksonville Beach… Some of us will preach the word of God. It is truly enough on its own and doesn’t need to be bedazzled with worldly garbage. Mark 1:15 Jesus says repent and believe in the gospel… True then and true today.
I admit, there have been some R&B songs where, because of the lyrics, I automatically think about God. For example, if you listen to the lyrics to Jeffery Osborn's Human, it almost sounds like a prayer to God about forgiveness of sins that being human can cause and Anita Baker's Just Because is saying that you love God just because and Genuine's My Whole Life Has Changed sounds like a prayer thanking God for changing his life.
Stop hurting you all heads about what they're playing. What they're saying . What they're doing. What they're singing. How they're behaving. How they're praying. How they're worshipping. How they're dancing. How they're laughing. How they're dressing. And all of the other : What they're doing. AND GET OUT OF THERE.. For all of the How they're doing this and doing that are not coming to an end anytime soon.. GET OUT OF IT. DO NOT POLLUTE YOURSELF WITH IT. That's the answer to it all. GET OUT OF IT. RELIGION. What more do you all want to see ? What more do you all want to hear ? The MESSIAH'S voice as in John chapter 4 verse 22. THE MESSIAH TO THE SAMARITAN WOMAN AT THE WELL. Verse 22 YE WORSHIP YE KNOW NOT WHAT. Well, in modern times, we have HIS word and HIS voice all over the place. The question to be asked there is whether folks are listening. They got ears but are unable to hear.. Eyes have they, but are unable to see.. They lack understanding.. GET OUT OF RELIGION..
🙋🏾♂️ Twinki Clark put reggae in gospel. James Cleveland used Gladys Knight and the Pips. I saw a church service of this social media that was playing Before I let Go from Maze Ft Frankie Beverley.
If we are honest we've watched even subscribed to Tiny Desk. They have a variety of groups and singers from the past and present. Its a very good show. I think the problem is what do we have for the youth today? When I was in my twenties there was Singers meet coming out of Bridgeport Ct. Young people would come and sing. It was every 5th Sunday. This is were I saw a very young man named Hezekiah Walker and his chior. Tiny Desk brings something unique and different.
They Could've Use A Worse Song...I Was At A Service One Time When They Were Playing "One More Chance" By The Nortorious Big. Instead Of Saying Biggie They Say Jesus Give Me One More Chance.
There was a time when people used to play around with r&b in church but nowadays people are going way too far it's like there's no respect and the leaders are enjoying this mess and it's horrible to witness this nowadays 😔😔😔😔
Music has changed over the ages. We don’t sing the original hymns of the disciples or the apostles of old. I do like the transparency of this pastor. I believe that is what the church is missing. Leaders need to be more transparent so that they don’t become the object of worship. Because leaders are not as transparent the world and the church focus more on religion than relationship. In my opinion I believe we as followers of Christ need to be more transparent. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Even after we give our lives to Christ, our daily battle is are we going to obey God. Maybe some of his doctrine may be off , but the overall the point was real with the scripture. The illustration of Trump was bad but the point of the rain and sun falling on everyone was accurate. The point of us all having to go through was accurate. Now if the message was no matter what, our dependency is on God and following his instructions I’m good with it. The singing of can you stand the rain could have been left out but I don’t see the harm if the message hit the mark.
I'm actually ok with this...as long as it's not profane of course. The lyrics highlighted can def relate to the passage. Trusting while enduring through the rain. I don't think it's good to be so righteous you cant take lessons from what's around you. The matter of knowing it's a New Edition song (after Bobby KDubb haha) shouldn't automatically prevent you from gleaning the lesson of his sermon or immediately walk out as some other commenters suggest soon as the chords become recognizable. As far as the R&B (specifically 70's - early 2000's; I don't know what kind of love these youngin's singing about haha) and Christian love songs part. Christian love songs are good for weddings I suppose. Most of them are great for when the bride walking down the aisle or something, but when it comes to bumping uglies...maaan there's a great lack to say the least haha. Until the End of Time by Prince or Teddy P's Turn off the Lights puts a man and a woman in a mood to ravish each other. @KDubb knows, he uses the snippet haha. You can make love to each other with "Jesus Can Work it Out" in the background but I just picture that mostly ends in crying. Now if listening to secular R&B incites a lust in you that you cant control and will cause you to stumble outside your marriage or you're unmarried fighting temptation...then I get it. Abstain. Otherwise let's not be so righteous you cant take lessons from what's around you
Agreed, Reginald sharpe is a problem. There are many solid pastors out there! Just gotta dig pass the surface Voddie Baucham Hensworth Jonas Steve Lawson A good start
I might be wrong, but isn't the rain in that passage blessings? In Ecclesiastes isn't the preacher speaking about how the wicked and righteous get blessings seemingly unfairly?
My former pastor said he didn’t want to hear hymns while performing marital duties. The fact that I heard him say it was one of the reasons I left his church. He should’ve never said it from the pulpit, with children in earshot! I don’t care how blunt you are. Where’s the tact?
Kdub you in my neck of the woods I live not far from Bethel Baptist. I remember preforming on that stage 20 years ago as a youth. His church is big here in jax thats why he is so worldly smh
I love me some 2pac and I have 12 pac shirts. But i wouldn't wear it to church. Lol smh I love me some old school music. I live in a time machine with music. But not with at church. Dont get me wrong i love r n b music old school. Not at church smh. #DisneyDiva
My parents’ favorite love songs were by Al Green, but there was a time and a place for that. Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross didn’t play all the time, and no time at all on Sundays. I had some hip hop artists I loved as a kid, but when I saw the way the genre was going I dropped it altogether for some time. Sure J Cole, Kendrick Lamar were some exceptions to the rule, but the rest of it? 🤢
This is what a preacher does when he has stopped or hindered the Holy Spirit from giving him an annointed WORD that REALLY speaks LIFE into the hearers! Bringing worldly music into the sanctuary, saying he's gonna start a series on how people can be blessed and Holy Spirit correctively changed by it, then trying to make it fit in some weirdy biblical way is ALLLLL out of Holy Order!!😢
This is absolutely absurd. He's going to pay a dear price for leading people astray. It's a crying shame that he would attempt to justify his actions. And then he's sounding like Jamal Bryant
No. No. No! RnB music wasn't Genesised from the Holy Spirit . Our walk is a 24/7 walk. I am reminded of my life when listening to these songs. I know what my flesh desired and did under that umbrella.
Can you stand the rain is not a bad song as you said. Nothing bad about this song. I must admit, the Tupac shirt is a nooo go for a pastor. I would love a first date with gospel music. It just depends on the song of choice. Commissioned and Men of Standard have wonderful Godly songs. I think it would have been better if the pastor could sing the lyrics. He just shouted the words. The church looked empty anyways.
Remaking And Flipping Secular Has Been Plaguing The Church And So Has Christians Artist Making Music With Secular Artist Who Put Out Ungodly And Perverted Content. Despise The Compromise.
