Some time ago I reviewed the "upgraded Chinese diesel heater exhaust" and was very impressed with its noise reduction capabilities, so much so, I fitted it to my campervan, where i have installed a Eberspacher D2 heater. Unfortunately it caused my heater to "flame out" once it reached the desired temperature and tried to idle down. By this I mean the heater would turn off itself, enter cool down mode and then once complete, would try to automatically restart itself. This would fail, so upon waiting for the temperature to drop a few degrees, we could restart the heater again, without problem. However once we hit the desired temperature, the issue would start again.
Having checked all electrical connections, I decided to remove the exhaust silencer, and it immediately corrected the problem, I am now running the heater with the original exhaust, as without any exhaust we felt it was a bit noisy, and it is now no longer flaming out and ticks over fine on its lowest setting.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this problem.
