I've seen this music video so many times but it never fails to make me cry or make. Me. Emotional. I've always looked at myself as too Asian, too skeletal, too small, too brown and too little to be hailed as beautiful growing up. So seeing this just always makes me remind of who I was growing up and who I am now. I love Beyoncé and she's and her music is one of the reasons why I continue to accept and love who I am.

Love the reaction! As a couple people have mentioned, Beyoncé was a pageant girl when she was younger (as seen at the end) so this song and video were deeply personal for her. She was in a place where none of the awards and critics meant as much to her because nothing felt better than being a mother and a wife. Her main priority was no longer her career as it had been for so long, but her family. “Enjoy your life. It’s short. I have had work done to reach my own version of pretty for me in my own time on my own terms while I still have my youth and I will adapt as I get older to look my version of pretty at the ages I will be (ill never be someone who tries to beat aging but work with it instead) Had I had to modify myself for a job or because someone demanded it of me I'd feel even uglier than I did before reaching the standards that's deemed perfect I'd probably off myself
