Yeah fuck knows mate but he is getting a bit done without it. I got a fingertip missing and it's a huge pain in the arse so I can only imagine what life would be like with only one
Good to see the guts of a Barra without having to pull mine apart. Very instructional and interesting. Good idea about getting the oil pressure up early.
Awesome vid, Scott. You’ve got a really honest, understandable and engaging style of presentation that gives me confidence to roll my sleeves up (LOL) and get stuck into the SOHC project in the shed. More importantly, you’ve got my utmost respect for not allowing your “challenges” to get in the way of what you’re accomplishing. I’ve been dealing with a severely compromised respiratory system, waiting for a transplant for 25 years now. I find your vids to be truly inspirational, helping me focus on my abilities rather than my disability and giving me the kick up the ass I need to get stuck into the next job. Keep up the great work!
Gonna have a bit of fun when it's done. Fully rebuilt engine with turbo bravo sir bravo. I was thinking a slow clap then ah shit sorry man lol come a long way from changing the brake pads man. Well done.
you defineatley know your shit man!, all of this stuff comes in handy, im currently in the process of trying to turbo my ba xt wagon, keep up the good work.
Great work bloke, the only issue i have is having the air filter down under the battery like that, water and road dirt and shit clogs those k&R filters up in that location very quickly.
Hi Scott great vid . I have a 2012 fg and there was no dipstick hole . Had to drill it with a cordie drill ! Anal clinching experience! You can make 450 rear wheel hp easy with the 1 r 23 aa NA rods and zf should be fine as long as you don’t drop down too hard ! Looking for to seeing it finished!
I was watching you knocking in that dipstick bung getting frustrated thinking 'wtf why don't you just hold it with you other hand?!' Then later in the video noticed you don't have one.. Watched dozen of your video, never noticed until now.
noticed you have the bionic blue skirts sittin there, thinking about selling? need some for mine previous owner was rough as on the bumpers and skirts by the looks of my under body :( and brilliant video thinking about doing the same with mine thinking about recording and uploading to youtube so people can learn off it like i am doing, great work brother
Awesome build man‼ ive bought a BA ute that's had a brand new FG Turbo bottom end but it has no hole for a BF position for the dipstick & it is running & already been tuned to 470hp⁉️ I will have to rip the motor out to drill a hole for the BF location dipstick❓how much engine oil do you usually fill it up with❓also, what viscosity as I am running the Ford recommend 15W-40⁉️
After it all, Do you think its worth the cost? Or would you reckon its cheaper to just buy an xr6t?. A lot of blokes have gone in way more than the cost of selling g the NA and buying a turbo
@@strider5119 Wow! You did really well. A lot of guys are spending $800 per run on the dyno to tune it. I planned to turbo my 2010 terry.. but fuels pumps.. Injectors, 4 bar reg, intercooler, pulsar 3584, exhaust, valves, e boost or a turbo PCM and pcmtec..for boost control.. etc etc. I couldn't find a cheap way. Nicely done.
@@jasonmurphy9319 grab all the stock stuff, that's all you need. I'd double check, but I'm fairly sure the N/A barras have the same injectors and the stock fuel pump should be adequate for stock boost. Lots of people get rid of their factory gear as they upgrade, so you can pick up a turbo, manifold, intercooler kit etc quite cheap. You just have to be patient and have cash ready when a good deal pops up. Just make sure the tune is good, cause that will make or break it
@@strider5119 True. I think you're right about injectors. They're on full cycle at about 7 psi from memory. I might have another go at getting parts. So many people are keen for the old setups now.. couldn't get a turbo or exhaust manifold when I tried last year so I gave up.
8mins in and I'm done. Big Cheers for going at it one handed lad. But I cringed when I watched you wash the skunge into your cylinder rings after the W&D. I'd rather pan a dusty creekbed for gold than hope to clean ALL of that crud out or every crevasse behind your rings. And when you took the brass wire wheel to the last 10>15ml of the cylinder after already undoing the mains....UMMMM!
