well she did journey with the bg1-2 protag bhaalspawn for a time so she might be wondering if Orin couldve lived a better life if she wasnt raised by murderous bhaalspawns.
she knows from experience that Bhaalspawn can resist father’s urges-my tav here is a resistant durge. maybe Orin could have resisted Bhaal too if she tried
Yeah at Jaheira's age, she'd probably be given another 200-400 years give or take with the Ritual of the Timeless Body. Not immortal, just a lot more time than what she has left.
Yep exactly, Timeless Body slows AGING by a factor of ten, it doesn't cause eternal youth. As you said, if you've got 20-40 years left, you'll now have 200-400. A full elven druid doing it at age 100 (VERY young, probably 650+ years left of life- 100 would be about like being 18 to an elf) would get like 6500 years more, which is pretty damned wild, hah.
Minthara would have that perspective on death, being a Lolth-sworn Drow and all - her most likely afterlife involves a lot of spiders and demons and such lol
I really wish Jaheira had more scenes like this through the game. She's by far one of my favorite characters in the game alongside Karlach, and it's a shame she joins relatively late into the story.
You just need to start the first Moonrise fight the right way. (sneaking in through the kitchen) and there's a good chance you catch Zrell with her pants down and the fight usually goes very well for the Harpers when Zrell can't bog down everyone with Hunger of Hadar. You might want to keep an eye on her and maybe give her a heal now and then. Then you just need to keep her out of the Kethric roof fight.
I think her response to Minthara is really weird, compared to what she says to everyone else, especially Wyll. Seems like she was going back and forth a bit on whether she would accept mortality and pass the torch to us, or wanted to keep the timeless body scroll in the back pocket for the future.
i dont think its weird. When she was responding to wyll she was talking about him living longer not defying death. When she speaks to minthara she is talking about being immortal and not accepting death. Since the scroll only extends your life span and doesnt make it infinite you can do more good while still staying strong at least for a little while but allows you to rest in peace when the time comes. Hence the line To fight death is setting yourself up for a defeat
Jaheira to me feels like a DMPC but in the best way. Like she was a PC played by one of the DM’s friends back in the day in a campaign where they were also a player. And the DM brought her back for this campaign to act as a wise mentor figure for the new players at the table.
She's an elf. Her natural lifespan is ~1000. With this an elf could theoretically live 10000 years, for context several "ancient" liches don't even reach half of that.
Specifically it makes you age at 1/10th the rate. You don't get younger. Jaheira is already old and is a half elf. She likely has a few decades left, which means this spell will give her a few centuries. Someone who already had centuries left to live would live for milennia.
Jaheira is arguably my favorite companion. A wily elder who speaks with experience and wit. Someone who more or less experienced the best years of her life and is now just trying to help others do the same. No dramatic reveal, no fanservice, just a respectable and likable character.
4:01 appropriate that a Druid, the class where the Timeless Body comes from, would have that view. Personally, I support this, but the whole "letting go" should come in the form of accepting a fight you won't win and fighting regardless.
Huh interesting! My impression when I spoke to her as a druid about this, was that she was going to do/already did. Love seeing all the companions', thank you!
I personally wonder what you get as, say, a human instead of an elf, at that point where OP went "Well I get to live longer than you already". I'd expect it to be something more along the lines of "For me a scroll like that would only put me at equal footing with you". Would she be understanding of one of the shortest-lived races wanting to reach for what, for her, is only the regular thing to expect?
I wasn’t expecting this to get so many views, thank you all ❤️ I’ve received a lot of comments asking about the mods that I use, so I’ll answer you all here! for my companions: extra gear, vestments of the faithful, moonlight armor for Selunute Shadowheart, and mystical fashions, plus dyes from extra dyes for the fashionable folk of Faerun. for my tav: tav’s hair salon and half tiefs flora and fauna. Wyll’s hair comes from Terpsichore Wyll edits
That's some pretty armor sets you have here. Would you mind tell me the name of the mod, for future reference? 😊 Also, Karlach's reaction is the best, both times. Romancing Karlach made me subconsciously connect to Jaheira even more. And I love it ❤️
I didnt expect one of the deepest interacrions in the game to be between Minthara and Jaheira. They definitely stand to learn the most from each other I think.

@@connorhilchie2779 every Druid can attain this rite, it’s their level 18 or 19 class feature, basically if jaheira tried when she was younger, the knowledge would have come to her naturally (literally because she is a Druid hehe)

He is! She talks about him if you interact with a pendant he gifted her, provided she’s in the party. I think there is also at least one dialogue option in which she describes their wedding and says she loved how sweet and non confrontational he was by Harper standards
Omg!!!! I play as a Druid but never knew this was a thing!! Omg this can change my campaign with my friends!! We are kinda doing our own little fanfic-like bg3 campaign where we have a couple OCs, but some playing as the Origin characters 😅 cheesy, but fun- I can use this for my convos with astarion! Ah!! 🫠🥰
