The Problem is players these days don't have those kinds of emotions and fighting spirit for playing India that we saw in Sachin, Ganguly, Kapil, Gambhir and Yuvraj etc. Basically before WC 2011. Look at the faces of Virat, Rohit and everyone when they lose IPL. I WISH they share similar emotions while playing for India as well.

While Indian players were busy in IPL ... Australia's players were practicing for the WTC final ( Smith,Cummins,starc,etc) They give more importance to icc events ... But Indians give more importance to IPL... That's the reason of our loss..🙏

Leaving out Ashwin was an underrated point. Ashwin is second best allrounder after Jadeja and he is the best bowler in the world.

Media and experts, just be honest. BCCI , businessmen and media has systematically destroyed national team's standards. Priority is IPL and also to make mediocre players look super human with media hype and money power. Organise one more IPL now or bring Bangladesh or Srilanka for homeseries to fool spineless cricket fans in India. In my humble opinion, test cricket is the real brand of cricket. Its about rotating strike, keep the scoreboard ticking and build long partnerships. That's what exactly Head and Smith did, that's why they won. It's more about application, self belief and intent to win which India lacked in abundance atleast in this WTC final. Don't make IPL an excuse: Rahane and Jaddu played well for CSK, they fought hard 👏 But Rohit as a batsman and Captain failed both IPL and India.

Dravid would have been successful if he would have been made coach after rohit and virat retire. He would have been successful because he would have able to implement his work ethics. But he is also responsible for teams performance.

Everything could be debated about this test match but one thing I strongly feel is that IPL is definitely an impact because it brings in a lot of money and fame which is not the top priority. Serving the nation is more important than serving the franchise cricket. But congratulations to Aussies they deserved it. Today I have decided to support good cricket and I love the way Australia played.

Biggest mistake ganguly made was make dravid as coach. he himself didnt wanted to be coach. We need coach who take aggressive decision and not defensive minded. Atleast under shastri we did well in tests

Australia play t20 but do not care. They have that big bash but most test players do not play. Not many of them want to play IPL as well. They see t20 as "hit and giggle" and not serious cricket. They dont even care about t20 world cup when they won it just 1-2 yrs ago. It is forgotten tomorrow and treat as a funny side issue or like childrens version of the game. Playing for country in Test and ODI world Cup is their piinnacle. I admire this attitude.

Worrying thing is that our team always end up under performing in ICC knock-out events and we still focus on IPL when the real challenge is playing in overseas conditions!!!Players find comfort in IPL

India lost half the battle when they dropped him. As Rahul said they didn't turn up on day 1 after the 70/3 and that's where the game was lost. Only person who could have kept things tight was Ashwin under that situation. He clearly had the numbers of both Smith and Head. When Ahsiwn was not in the 11 Aus would have been relieved! Ashwin should consider retiring and put his efforts elsewhere than getting insulted like this time and again.

It was a great match to watch. Hope we prepare similar tracks in India so that we dong get pleasantly surprised abroad.

FACTS: 1. India has been amazing and best in the world in away test series. 2. India has been horrible in first tests and one-off tests 3. Given our talent pool, India has been horrible in knockout stages in short form tournaments. I think we have a leadership, brains-trust issue. We keep picking the wrong team, don't have good planning leading up to the start of a test series and it is especially costly when we have just a one test WTC. The problem is with the Captain, Coach, and BCCI leadership. Our team is like RCB. We need to become like CSK. We need better leaders. Sharma, Dravid, and Roger Binny/Ganguly etc are responsible for our consistent failures.

Sadly our team failed in Captaincy, batting , bowling and most importantly team selection and practice. Our team did win in the absence of key players against team Australia. Young players should be given opportunities in test matches as well. We also did miss the match winner like Rishabh Pant, Ashwin. We still face lots of problems facing real fast bowlers and struggle to survive against swing bowling as well. In almost 40 to 50% matches lower order played better and scored more than top order batsmen. It can't be just due to new ball or pitch conditions every time. .....

2nd Innings - brutal truth - Rohit, Pujara, Virat, Ajinkya, Bharat played bad shots on a good pitch. This was the only reason we could not reconcile on 4th and 5th days and win the game. baaki sab bakwas.

4 most important reasons as far as the match is concerned and a couple of other reasons as well: #1- non-selection of ashwin considering that australia had almost 5-6 left handed batsmen and considering how good is Ashwin against lefties and also how good a batsman he is and on the 4th day he would have been deadly just look at how lyon bowled and Jadeja is half as good when he is alone and he is with ashwin he performs better because bowlers also hunt in pairs. #2- bad bowling by the 1st and 2nd change bowlers. #3- bad batting by the top 3-4 batsmen in both innings #4- on the final day, you knew the target and had ample time then why not apply and spend time on crease and you knew pretty well that aussies are not going to leave it easily and they will be relentless which they were that is why they were able to get all the 7 wickets in one session where as the need was not to lose any wicket in the 1st session, this is where we need players like dravid and vvs. and other reasons were too little time to acclimatize just after IPL the players who played the finals had no time to rest like jadeja, gill, shami , rahane and even rohit, they look jaded and tired and it is quite obvious after all they are not machines and also not many top players skipping longer form of cricket in domestic, it should be mandatory that they play a few games in domestic and also the schedules are too tight which are taking its toll on players, after all it is not just money but players well being as well and almost 8 players who played in this final will not be around in the next WTC finals if at all we reach here again so it is better to start preparing the team now when we were so focussed in finding another sachin we were not so farsighted to find another dravid , laxman, kumble or zak that is another failure of the BCCI's think tank and it is quite obvious when you have someone like jay shah just an ordinary secretary calling all the shots and president and others standing behind him like slaves and body guards which included the great ganguly and it is a shame and disgusting too.

Same applies to Gavaskar and Bhajji who don't want to be critical. 1) Did India have a Single bowler who looked dangerous - We need pacer who bowls at 150 2) Spinner who spins the ball .....3) Batters who can bat for 2-3 days continuously.....

Head n Smith partnership was where the match was won. Also Starc, Cummins, Boland n Lyon didn't play IPL. Agreed not easy for bowlers to transition to 4 overs a day to 20 overs a day, but shouldn't the players be rotated in IPL knowing an ICC final is around. Omission of Ashwin was also surprising. Is this proof that he can't perform outside Asia? Bumrah n Pant injuries were also a factor

Our team is not having patience of playing test format because of IPL n more frequency of short formats like 20-20 or even 50 over format.Too much experiments in selection n not preparing pitches like England n Australia are also reasons. Politics in selection of players too there visible.

The point 8s India messed up their bowling to allow Aussies to score big in the first innings and then choked in their batting. Though the managed to restrict Aussies to below 300 in their second innings, India choked again in batting and thereby lost. The only saving grace is we did not lose by an innings. I think one of the main problem was the tight schedule between IPL and WTC. India had very less time (only 5 to 6 days) to regroup ang get prepared for WTC. Players were tired after a long IPL season. They didn’t get enough time to start fresh for WTC preparation. There are a huge difference between IPL and WTC in terms of game set. Players are not machine. BCCI should have been paid special attention to this matter earlier.

Same mourning moment repeated after losing against Pakistan in ICC CT final back in 2017 at the same Oval Ground. History repeats.

Worst display by the Indian cricket team. Videos doing the round on twitter state that the match was financially rigged with huge payments for the losers but in all honesty, this has been the worst display of skills. Some of the leading batsmen should be shown the door.
