I've wanted to say this for a while now: I'm so grateful this channel exists. I really like how you're focusing on the games and never make it about yourself, love your calm commentary style, but also your natural humour that doesn't feel forced. I know RU-vid drives creators to adapt, many start to sell themselves, making it all about views, clickbait and so on... I really hope you'll never feel forced to change for the sake of keeping up with others. I've been a silent viewer for years now and i thought, if i ever use my Account, it should be here. To finally say thank you. So... Thanks CJU.

Completely agree. Chris' channel is easily my favorite channel to watch on all of youtube. He's always my Go-to anytime i wanna watch games. I've watched him for years now and he's always funny, clever, and honest with his gameplay and reactions. Never acts scared for no reason or "hams" it up for the camera and I appreciate the heck outta it because it feels so genuine. I always like and try to comment so cuz even that little bit makes a huge difference and even though our channels are very different (Although both horror relates) he really inspires me to be as genuine as I can. P.s. This channel has really helped me through some dark times. Thanks CJU

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. My main goal was to somehow reach Chris and I'm so glad i could finally share my appreciation for his work and dedication with him. But it's nice to see like-minded people. It' s my first time actually being active on the Internet, am way to shy for any social media, but you're right. I'll try to keep it up, liking and commenting, even if it's the only thing I can do to support him. And maybe my comments won't be as cringy anymore once I get used to it ;)

So, here's my theory. This is the developer's take on P.T., aka the "stuck in a time loop sequence inside a house of horror with a vengeful ghost haunting you". The protagonist, the husband, has some trauma, something to do with his wife, maybe she died/was murderd, so he seeks "Havens", a corporation that puts people in some induced dream sequence/coma where they can find and reunite with their loved ones and "live peacefully", except they end up stuck in a never-ending nightmare, where everything is corrupted and twisted, and instead of seeking refuge from their trauma/nightmares/mistakes, they're actually forced to relive them over and over again, stuck in this pergatory-like world being tortured forever. In this case however, we're actually playing the "final loop" shortly before the protagonist wakes, guided by the two people we see at the end, who wanted to rescue him for some reason. Maybe he was part of their team, with their bulletproof vests I'm lead to believe they're some kind of RE-inspired Bravo team. The disembodied voices we hear over the radio are the man and woman in the lab speaking to the protagonist or to each other. The glitch/fake crash is an actual glitch in the "matrix-inducing" software, we see the project/company logo "Havens" and everything. But if the player is controlling the husband, why was he able to enter the password and reboot the system? Maybe the woman seen in the lab was controlling him, guiding him all the way through to make it out of "that world". So we're controlling her controlling him. BIAS is probably just a play on BIOS, as in Windows BIOS. Or the husband being the Bravo team's "bias" as they singled him out of many to rescue, for some reason. I'm looking way too much into a terrible indie game that probably has no real plot and is just an amalgamation of everything the developer thought was cool. I tried.

This is much more adult than what I went with. After Chris personified the frightened wardrobe I just went with it, that trembling wardrobe became the protagonist for me. We were only passengers to it's journey. It starts exiled from the rows of other wardrobes, pushed away from the walls and left vulnerable, adrift in the hallway where we see it tremble in fear. It attempted to find solace in a closet only to be terrified by the closet's door, which was not only a bully but a verbally violent one, screaming in furniture clatterings. The wardrobe plucks up some courage and manages to go upstairs (a big feat for a wardrobe mind you!) but alas, there is no promised land. It is left alone, excluded, AGAIN, by the super skinny cupboards that mock it for it's double wide size. (I think it looks perfectly lovely, a fine wardrobe indeed!) The next rooms were terrible, true body horror...for a wardrobe. Wardrobes taken from their rightful positions safely against walls and thrust, into the MIDDLE OF ROOMS! Then, not only haphazardly stacked as though they were meant to serve as support columns (the horror!) but some even forcibly attached to the ceiling!! ...I don't know exactly who created such a scene of carnage, not our dear little wardrobe, right? I'm sure it was Groot, who appeared earlier...for some reason, looking like someone tricked him into getting a crew cut at Supercuts (tree people should go to arborists! Poor Groot, no wonder he was "choke a mfer" angry.) The whole game was one company's folly of trying to create sentient furniture for Disney theme parks and one man who sought employ there under false pretenses in order to look for his wife, who in the biggest plot turn of all WAS THE WARDROBE! Her dying body had been stolen under cover so her mind could be transplanted into a cheery singing wardrobe in one of Disney's Beauty and the Beast themed hotels. The husband had tried sneaking in to rescue her but, she was too far gone, too furniture to ever be human again. The dystopian future Disney overlords will surely prosecute him harshly... probably turn him into a toilet. ...if a dev isn't gonna give me more plot or more English subtitles I'm making my own plot and it will be ridiculous.

If anyone wants to know what the ghost uses its called the "Ghost Creature Anims" And it really is a great animation pack that I am also using but in a mix with other animations. I suck at making animations, but I am trying to use the least amount of assets possible.

#1: Glad to see a terrible Indie Horror game show up in the rotation; it's been too (?) long. #2: So sorry that the dev went out of their way to send you a copy, only to have it panned. #3: I've been trying to guess what the goal of this might have been in terms of being practice/learning/showcase for a small indie developer, and the best I can do is 'prologue', based on the post-credits scene, but there were so many errors and failures leading up to that possibility that even that was not clear -- and even so, the errors/failures were not compelling to excite me for whatever comes next, assuming anything does follow this. Some of the failure points were mildly interesting, though. For example, the lack of subtitles on the radio broadcasts seemed like an important failure point (especially since the dev went out of their way to send their game to an _English-speaking_ content creator), but when the post-credits scene contained full subtitles in English, the player/viewer must conclude that those broadcasts were not relevant (and therefore not translated). Which makes them still a failure point, just not the one we thought it was. Not withholding of relevant information, but allowing the player to "be distracted" by the absence of information without (somehow) letting them know that it was not relevant, so it didn't matter what it was. The 11:02 thing was just a mess of failure points. I had guessed that it was a time, because those clocks kept being in the periphery, but naturally had no idea what the number was for. Was there a clock to be set? Was there a padlock or safe with a combo? No.... the game put you through double hoops (fake crash, then QR code), which _required resources that the player might not have_ ... they say "everyone has a smartphone" (with a QR reader), but a) not necessarily, and b) I have to go get my phone, and open the QR code reader and go to the site, which all has nothing to do with the activity I was doing, y'know, _"playing" your game_ )... all to _tell me the answer_ that you've been lampshading for 20 minutes in case I somehow did not twig that *_the only_* information or clue that the game has given me about anything at all is the number 1102, repeatedly, and without attribution. But hey, at least you proved you could do a QR code. And a fake crash. The post-credits scene was pretty cool, but too much, too late, so also a failure point. If any indication that there was more to know had been in the main game, it might have avoided "terrible" status, but a lore tease that requires one to sit through the credits of a singularly unrewarding game experience is not going to win hearts and minds. I hope this prologue(?) gets reworked and re-released to be a more fitting and compelling showcase/introduction to what might be an interesting game universe. Thanks for playing and sharing, CJU!

I think you hit the nail on the head with 'it's like the indie horror game version of, I forced an AI to watch 1000 hours of [X] and then had it make an [X]'. I find the game almost weirdly compelling in some ways. It seems very earnest, like there was a serious effort. There's a lot of variety in encounters, there's the crash trick, there's even post credits scene that introduces new questions. I really want to like it. And yet, so much is mishandled. It just doesn't work, the creator does not know how to do effective horror. It's like watching a child play a 1v1 game against a pro athlete: I'm rooting for them, but I really don't have any belief they could succeed. Still, I kinda hope they keep trying. It was at least successful enough to make me curious about the mystery and direction, and I hope that with some practice the creator can use all that drive and add in some refining and polish. I think they could make something really cool.

There were some interesting concepts in this, the computer crash was actually convincing but it was never given any kind of context or place in the game itself, beyond the post credit scene where there was something kind of matrixy happening? I guess it was related to that but then why was there a log in? This is like a game that happens when a dumb person who heard about PT, the Matrix, and horror as a genre describe them to a developer who has zero concept of any of it.

6 mins in and I'm yet to see why terrible is in the title. will update. Update: I'll be honest Chris, maybe you just weren't in the mood for another walking simulator P.T. type, but it didn't seem that bad. Maybe it was a lot more fun to watch than play, but there were some cool moments, it did great with the audio effects. The lighting was good and graphics were nice. I just know I've seen you play a lot of games that I found less interesting than this one and not rag on it. I think the biggest accusations you could level at it is just the style of game it is, another walking sim looping style game. I found it interesting enough that I'd like to see more if there is. But what do I know, I didn't have to play through it lol. love the playthrough as always Chris. 😁

Yeah, I literally fell asleep twice while watching this video, despite it being a short game overall. There needs to be more to the game in general, I think. Also, the character models at the end look like they are really WELL done, however I think using Western character faces with the distinctly Japanese voices felt a bit...jarring. It's almost like the mouth for the male character model at the end wasn't able to move properly to look like he was speaking Japanese. In any case, thanks for playing - it's always fun to see you try different things! Editing to add: I also sincerely doubt a female scientist in a laboratory where it looks like sanitation is very important and there might be some dangerous substances around, would be working in short shorts. Just saying.

Feels like I'm lookin' in the mirror What would people say if only they knew that I was Part of some geneticist's plan Born to be a carbon copy man There in a petri dish late one night They took a donor's body cell and fertilized a human egg and so I say: I think I'm a clone now… (Opening of Weird Al’s parody of “I Think We’re Alone Now”)

I was just thinking the other day that we haven't had a terrible indie horror game in a while and here we go right on cue ha ha

Sending you the key was nice - even if it did turn out to be terrible, sadly enough. The looping element _can_ work when done well. I don't understand why they gave the protagonist subtitles but not the (apparently story-relevant) radio, though.

Eh even if this ends up being part of something bigger, a PT clone is the worst thing you can do. You'd be better off making a demo that actually makes people interested. I don't know about other people, but I am so over PT clones; they instantly turn me off. Even as a first attempt at game development, devs need to avoid it like the plague and make something unique.

Terrible Indie Horror Game? Aw c'mon, this was no Wooden House.😬 Maybe Tiresome Indie Horror Game? Wait a minute--do I see random _mannequins??_ Okay, Terrible Indie Horror Game it is.🤣

Mannequin alert 😂I genuinely think this wasn't good, but I wouldn't have called it terrible tbh. Edit : after typing this comment, I decided to continue watching Chris' older videos since I have some time this morning. Guess what the next one is? Wooden House!! Now that sort of coincidence is freaky, you mention it on your comment, and of all the thousands of videos on this channel, this is the one I'm going to watch next? 😱😱😱

That moment when you're 6 minutes in and ready to give up, but I see 19 more minutes for the video. XD Can't blame you though. Even if there were a couple of things that I did find interesting (namely, the crashing and that section involving the red door & those writhing forms up on the ceiling), the rest were utterly bland. It's another of those eye-rolling "PT-inspired" games. As for what was said in the radio, the only one I can vaguely surmise was the first one at 02:28 (the woman who I assume was his wife saying, "Let me go." and him refusing to do so.)

I believe I’ve seen that clone room in an SCP containment breach game. So maybe the creator wanted those two to be connected?

Hopefully the dev got some good feedback from Chris. But I always feel bad when the dev sends a key to have it called terrible, but I do enjoy watching him play these. Thanks Chris!

I’m really amused by the disconnect between people who are like “no if you want REAL coffee…” versus the people who have actually tried this. Those who have actually tried it all love it so clearly you’re doing something right

Oh it was such along time to see a terrible in the title. Although in my opinion the game was simply not good. There were some really terrible one's so I'm giving them some credit for at least TRYING to be an interesting, scary game. But I must say that this little corridor section was the shortest area of P. T. experince ever!

Chris, thank you for suffering through this boring walking sim for our sake! It is very much a terrible game. The after credit scene was more interesting than the whole game. Bless you!
