The Phoenix Suns held a press conference Wednesday for owner Mat Ishbia and general manager James Jones, and Dan Bickley can't help but ponder why the organization is being so elusive about tabout the future of head coach Frank Vogel.

These press conferences just showed that Ishbia is tone deaf and has no idea what he’s doing. He has good intentions but is way too involved in basketball operations and suggesting the Suns are in a great spot and fans should basically be grateful for 49 wins after being swept in the first round is just way out of touch and not rooted in reality.

That press conference was embarrassing. Talk about gaslighting your fans ! It was absurd. This is why the NBA is dying - entitled players who don’t want to play defense & tune out their defensive oriented coach.

Its simple, they learned that firing Monty without having a clear plan on who to hire was a mistake. They aren't just going to react immediately and emotionally like fans. Evaluate your options, you have 5 months.

Politicians and professional sports execs walk and talk alike. Liars. If they truly care, they'd change the roster... Instead of doubling down on a team that acts arrogant but played lackluster and got swept due to confident ignorant arrogance

He says it’s his job to set the record straight, then doesn’t set the record straight? I think the greatest point that Bickley made was… “Why the hell are you having a press conference if you have nothing to say, or will say nothing?”

@@ThriveAliveJoshua he’s a smart guy and I think he really cares about being a NBA owner. I hope he realizes that his press conference was a total disaster and learns from it. You never go in front of a microphone if you have nothing to say.

It seems like they can’t handle criticism. A billionaire who can’t be fired should be above that. I just want to know what their plan is. What is the plan? What is the team mantra? If everyone did so great why are all the fans unhappy? It’s a little insulting. They want our money, right?
@cruisernatn3
@cruisernatn3 15 дней назад
Just cause the fans are happy don’t mean the team is good. Fans are fans for a reason we will never know what’s going on behind the scenes fans will never be happy no matter what they do. Let’s be honest none of us don’t know shit. The fans were so happy when we went to the finals and got dawg walked then we won 64 wins and got destroyed in game 7 at home. Then last year got destroyed in second round. You don’t win a championship in 1 year it’s not gonna be pretty. It’s on the players to figure it out. They need center and PF and PG and they will be fine. Our problem is us as fans are not listening and our trying to push our own agendas if the owner and GM and players which they all said they needed more time on the court this year and they didn’t get it because of injuries then let’s see how this season gos. Suns wasn’t winning anyways this year so doesn’t matter go back don’t overreact and come back next year strong

@@cruisernatn3 most of your comment is stating the obvious. And no one said that fan happiness levels dictate success, but they certainly are a result of such. People who watch games have value. They also see dysfunction. don’t discount that because we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. I don’t know a single game, series, or championship that was played behind the scenes.
@cruisernatn3
@cruisernatn3 15 дней назад
@@loud_laughter Yes there is always gonna be some form of dysfunction on every team all the great teams have it win or lose it’s there first year together i am glad there is some form of dysfunction you need that. This team lost not because of the coach but because of personal and the play of there stars simple as that. Pistons in 80s had dysfunction bulls, golden state, Celtics, heat even the suns under Monty. Our problem is we try to read to much into everything and I am saying we and us because we all do it. We are not behind the scenes and behind the scenes are exactly how games are won because the process with understanding film understanding each other. All we see is the game. None of us know what it’s like trying to get these all time greats to listen to you these guys are straight entitled guys. It’s the players faultn not the owner and GM and coach they not on court with them. They have to play. Vogal ain’t telling them to miss shots and dribble ball off there legs or turn ball over or miss wide open lay ups and dunks like we did all playoffs. If you wanna say rotation I am with you but this meal is 80 percent on the players and not GM or Coach. None of us could not spend 1 day as a COACH GM OR OWNER but we talk like we can fix things. Go look at the video when the coach was telling and showing Brad Beal how to get to the basket and Beal said I ain’t doing that shit.

Felt that this press conference fell flat. How can you truly believe that this was a great season? Getting dominated in the first round by a team that you owned in the regular season should prove that it wasn't. I think it's just a matter of taking some time to let things cool so that the best decision can be made. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but every time I hear Ishbia speak I get exhausted. It's almost like he speaks just to speak. It should be more of JJ speaking than him. He doesn't know what's going on so why would he speak? For as much as Ishbia preaches about being connected and building that type of environment, doesn't seem that is happening within the organization yet. Seems like a lot of rash, hurried decisions rather than taking the time to thoughtfully plan out a more methodical approach to establishing a championship contender.

This intro is what's wrong with the media: Clickbait lines, extreme views, warping peoples words. Ishbia is positive and of a growth mindset. If you want to blow things up constantly and be toxic, go follow the Lakers. You'll love it!

If they move on from Vogul it'll be cus of x and o's not voice. This big three has always followed their coaches' game plan whether they like it or not. Point blank, they need an inventive coach to come up with a system that creates opportunities instead of relying on isos and a Draymond Green type to slot in the 4, play make, guard, add toughness, ruffle feathers and allow for a bunch of different lineups by guarding 3-5 at least. A vet pg off the bench after that, and better athleticism too. But the big three are gonna have to take on responsibilities they're not used to if they want to win. Its what campions do. Between catch and shooting 3s, rebounding and interior defense from KD, ball handling, and playmaking, JJ's right. There's not a whole lot they need to add to this team.
