Short tour of our Sprinter van's bike slider tray where we have our full size commuting and touring bikes stored in our under bed 'garage'.
In this video, Karl explains how we currently have our bikes set up and installed, our future plans for new bikes and different installation, and some advice for others looking to set up a bike sliding tray in their van.

Thinking about doing the same in the back of my SUV,.thanks for the vid. Gotta get that big bottle of surf mud, we only have tiny tins in my area?

Thanks for watching. The surf mud was given to us from Jahla's brother, no idea where he got it. We used it while we were up north around Exmouth as it is reef safe, but don't normally use it.

Hey, what’s the distance between your van floor and the bed clearance? How much space would you recommend leaving for the bikes at a minimum?

The height clearance will depend on the style of bike, the size of the frame and if you use a slider tray or not. With a slider tray the absolute minimum would be 835mm, ideally 850mm to allow for some margin for error/clearance. We have Medium-Large and Small frames. Larger frames will need more clearance accordingly.

@@ComfortablyLost Agreed, I’m converting a Fiat Ducato & have built a sliding bike rack for 2 x L size MTB’s with droppers. My bed is 930mm above the sliding rack 👍

Were those bike mounts DIY or store bought? Thanks!

Store bought. They're sold in most local bike shops and also online. Search "bicycle fork mount". You can also buy ones for thru axle style forks, a little more expensive.
