From the outside yes i have to agree with you Steve , Peterbilt did a great job . Although personally i do not care for the interior cab design . The Corvette style dash i have always associated with Peterbilt and somehow expect to see it in their trucks . The 389 just seems to have lost some of the " class " i expect and became accustomed to in a Peterbilt .
If I had the cash this is the truck I’d buy, I love the big motor with the 18 speed, this is BAD ASS !!! And will definitely get the job done, in style
Nice truck with the classic dash. I thing the new dash that is coming is a big mistake. I thing sales on the 389 will drop, I know many o/o that have seen the new dash say that they will not buy another Peterbilt. I was planning to trade mine in in the fall but now I am looking at a Kenworth.
Yeah... Like the square hood Petes are known for reliability, and ease of service. With that bullshit screen... Man f off with that damn $800 bill for a screen replacement
Regarding Changing From Dials To Screen On Main Dashboard The Question Is Will Any Aftermarket Supplier Offer To Replace Screen With Original Dails Dash Would That Be Completely Impossible?
How’s it safer are you gonna have to scroll through like with the kenworths because that takes your eyes off the road even more then glancing across your gauge cluster
That’s the nicest blue but I wonder if the college boy that’s making the digital dash mandatory at Paccar because I know that KW will be doing the same thing with their lineup had the digital dash tested on east coast roads in the winter and also realized how many buyers will go somewhere else to buy the old school dashboard s that they won’t be making an option
Beautiful well set up truck, Have to decline the digital dash just imagining the problems and the cost to repair or replace because of damages that will occur because its in a truck that hardly ever shuts down. A guage goes down and its instantly obvious loosen several nuts and wireing and replace. To each his own choice I guess.
Nice Truck and Color.Yes put Digital Dash in just for More Stuff to Tear up just like watched few Driver videos where have issues with all that DEF JUNK and cost 3-10k Replace just Electronic Stuff! May be good for Fuel Economy and Power but Blows when goes to Crap for Any Vehicles!! Less Electronics the Better!! If my Truck and have Big Payments would Want APU, Small Led Lights under Sleeper, Nice Light Bar for Mud Flaps with Many Leds! All Trucks Should come Factory with APUs Not Buy as Add ONs when Saves Engine from Running When Not Necessary!! Longer Engine Life, Possibly less Fuel used for Idle!! Do Company CEOs at DealerShips and Trucking Businesses Not KNOW THAT AFTER ALL YEARS IN DA BUSINESS!! I Do and Not Been into Trucking Long!! Oo Well it's Their Money huh!? 💪😏
@@tuneboyz5634 Now I’m curious to see what this new Peterbilt truck I’ve been hearing about gonna look like. From what I’ve heard it’s supposed to be the wide cab like the 567 and 579 with the long hood like the 389. Kinda like what Kenworth did with the W990. I’d like to see a 589 I’m assuming it would be called with the wider cab, long hood and the fenders and headlights of the 567. That should be a good combination. So the rumor mill says it’s coming and only time will tell what it will look like.
Well I am huge peterbilt fan and I been loving them trucks since I had went on the road with my uncle gene year's ago and hoping oneday I wanna own one the color I am going with is yellow cause that was my grand pa favorites color even though there not here sometime I wish to see the excitement on there faces seeing me drive an 18wheelers for the first time and hoping oneday I wanna rases a family of my very own become a loving dad and husband to my kids and wife thats why every night I ask lord to bless me with someone very special
@@PeterbiltoftheRockies Thanks From your experience Do you know of any drivers who bought these truck have any issues with their DEF system ? I know they have to be maintained but any other issues besides maintenance? Thanks for your response
@@trucker-d4161 I think it depends on whether your doctor puts you on some sort of disability... also, and if this is Alfonso's real reason I give him my most honest and biggest respect, it may even depend on personal responsibility: you don't wanna get a low blood sugar episode and lose consciousness at 65 mph
200k I think someone said after taxes, I hope putting a 20k deposit down with a 800 credit score will help me finance this truck but if not I keep on dreaming lol 😂
Hi 👋. Are you not allowed to mention price$$$???. I'm a Canadian, love the peterbilt. I would love to buy one for me, and take to Brasil with me. I'm praying God for that, maybe one day soon. Cheers. Roger from canada 🇨🇦.
@@Stavros1977 bruh. Automatics can't even keep proper gearing on downhills, and can't downshift properly on uphills. You'll die trying to go up and down a hill, they struggle to even get put in the manual gear select mode thing too, doesn't work half the time. They're sluggish and jerk your around too! But to each their own, I like my manuals you can have your automatic if that's what YOU want. I ain't gonna stop you. I'll see you at the bottom of the hill though.
Quick question, I can't stand chrome. Can I get all the chrome in black stainless steel? Can I also get an 18 spd automatic? Chrome will rust, stainless won't.

This is more or less an open comment to Peterbilt themselves. Not to you who is the video presenter and your wonderful corporation and such. I honestly think that it would be great if you were to still offer all the Peterbilt customers the analog gauge dash like how you have in the past. Reason being, I seen a lot of stuff like that just fail for no reason. And extreme temperatures can and will cause issues with the solid state technologies that these screens are made with. #peterbilt #peterbilttrucks
I was going to buy a new Peterbilt in a year or two but it is a BIG NO now. Saying it is more safer is ignorant, The new dash will be no more safer than the old ones, otherwise the other trucks would have been advertised as being safer years ago. This video gets two 👎🏻👎🏻.
Digital is more future maintenance and breakdowns along with a much higher cost. Not to mention... No longer a true classic truck. I will NEVER buy a new truck!
Whole truck is garbage 🗑 how are we in 2021 and still having controls from late 90s. The stereo system is dated the small fridge the plastic storage bins Everything is Outdated only reason people buy this truck is because the exterior design.
