Little sidenode:you don't need to restart the game if the surrender of Maine fires before 11th December, you can still declare war while keeping the event stalled until the 11th
Funny thing i was almost done this achievment but you know what? Electricity cut out and my save game got corupted and i was so close when i got some provinces in scadinavia muscovy had no strong alies and i just took like 15 provinces
I was 5 provinces away, just needed a final war with England. Truce was up June 1498, they had only one ally, Liege. I was ready to go....by the time truce as up they had allied Austria and Portugal again. I maybe could have pivoted and truce-broken with Denmark, but...I had made my mind up to attack England. So I did. I was able to call in Castille, who took care of Portugal enough where I could white peace them after a few months. I had England completely sieged down by Jan. 1499, all left to do was try and get Austria out...I was sieging all of their forts at once, and they were soooo nearly ready to white peace...when they Somehow inherited a PU on Bohemia and Hungary SIMULLTANEOUSLY! I just stood up and walked away from my computer... Edit (about 3 hours after making the initial reply): I FUGGIN DID IT! Completed in June 1490...so...this run was waaaay better than the previous 4 I had tried in succession.
Finally, I got the achievement on my 36th try. Never in my life have I struggled more with a videogame. Especially the Denmark wars were very hard. I think the only way to really make the first war work is allying Burgundy and calling them in.
Used this guide, got up to the third war with England at around 1482, so I was like 3 years behind, looked like it was gonna be close. Just inherited all of Burgundy including the Netherlands instead. Highly recommend.
Thanks alot IcePyre. I finished it in 1490 with your method. Lucky me, only needed to attack independent Norway in the End because they had the last 9 provinces i needed.
Interesting video! I've tried out some of the previous exploits you've talked about, and even managed to consistently modify /common/ folder content while passing the initial check (for me, the trick is to mass-save relevant notepad++ files around a second before 'initialising map logic' appears), but I must admit I still want to get achievements the good old fashioned way, so I'm happy that's what you focused on in this vid.
Something I should note from my testing though, is that certain attributes such as national ideas don't get carried over between sessions, so if you do want to do an achievement run with OP ideas, or even want to switch to them in an existing ironman game, you can just do the payload insertion exploit before loading the savegame
@@thepengugamerz As in the altered code/values (payload) you wish to insert into the game files. If done right after the checksum checks (which check to see that the game files match the checksum), you can save changes to those files before the game can properly load them into memory, allowing you to still get achievements.
Well at the Irish wars Offaly had all neighbouring provinces (except Leinster and Ulster who both was allied to Scotland) and Offaly was allied to England:/
Do you think they will ever patch the custom nation exploit/bug? It has been around for so long, it is impossible that they don't know about it. Makes me think that the way the game is coded just make it impossible to fix...
Must be something pretty hard or time consuming to change. Probably will be in the final version of the game unless they spend some time and people power on it.
A couple of (small) things: - "Despite the absolutism penalty" Absolutism is absolutely irrelevant before age of Absolutism. Hoard estate bonuses as soon as you can, even the monopolies ones are great (if it's a low cash reward;) due to the mercantilism boost. Revoking policies should be easy before/during Age of Absolutism if you play manage your estates just a little. - Alencon is a much better wargoal, you'll get ticking warscore _much_ faster, and it will also be even trickier to get to for the English to get to once you've taken the fort. Time is a EU currency, use it where you can (and this is a very easy one to take advantage of). - Always use diplomats for something. Even building spy network if nothing else. (You don't even have to do it for fabricating claims, as it will boost siege effectiveness VS that country). - Substitute manpower with mercenaries for the first half of the game. _Always._ money you will always get, and mercs are super easy to get and maintain early game. They're particularly good early game to siege forts, as you won't have access to cannons either way, and they can't split up, and doesn't get buffs from your traditions iirc. in regards to fighting prowess. Otherwise they're add-ons for your main armies to give max width, or mop up weaker stacks.
Actually found this achievement surprisingly easy without a coalition ever form and finishing it in October 1488. Even messing up by not revoking my guarantee over Scotland. I don't recommend attacking provence as even with excommunication the high dev and proximity to hre still gives higher ae than other targets. I started by allying but nor marrying Scotland and attacking through them. I did get extremely lucky and attacked 20k vs 20k in Woods and stsckwipped. I didn't bother taking my cores in first war and instead took pale and Wales. Main expansion path was UK Norway and Spain as alliance got cancelled. Burgundy was a great ally and I built up their favors and trust by just feeding them none coberligerated hre minor allies in hopes I get them inherited. I also used vassals to get Ireland which caused me to be lower on diplo than admin which I didn't struggle with at all while keeping up adm I'm tech and finishing adm ideas
It's beneficial to take an African province from Portugal in the first war for the age objective. With 3 objectives, you can take the Golden Era decision and that's 10% less admin require for coring plus 10% more morale. Humiliate Aragon and get Paris over 30 Dev
Idk how you manage to get "interface/fronted gui" to show up. I can shift left or right click on that icon for days and it still doesn't do anything edit: Just found it. For me for whatever reason I need to shift click on the top middle of the screen right where I can choose mapmodes. Now I can reload the UI but it just crashed my game if I want to do anything with custom nations after that.
In the first war with England I had to call burgundy with promise of land and didn’t give any like in the video. Then Provence got excommunicated and I declared calling them in with promise of territory and gave them 2 provinces and I took Anjou. Days after the war was over they broke the alliance. Very confused.
I know that it is a guide and not at all realistic, but making war with England perfectly align with french philosophy. On the other hand France would not make war with Scotland, we have be allied with them against England for a very long time.
Yup, I'll try to no CB the Balkans instead of going North. Maybe I can release Byzantium after the achievement is done to have a strong March with Orthodox provinces, but seems a waste of Admin point. Going into Aragon or Bourgogne is costly for AE and coring, so yes, maybe theres not much other options!
my first anglo - fracian war always lasts sooo long. Forts on coasts without navy superiority and a siege that always will last until at least 78% meanwhile portugal + england need only 14% for a fort to fall. (using edicts)
This is a common problem. If you shift+right-click and hit the front-end gui button twice in a row, but very fast it tends to work better. It also works reliably for some people when you do it 3 times as well. Also always try and restart the game before doing the exploit. Whenever I have the game open for a long time and try to do the exploit I crash 100% of the time.
Its amazing video, thanks a lot for creating and sharing this. However do you have tooltips to keep my economy at float? In my runs I am good with the wars but I go bankrupt with ruins the day
How on Earth did you get the war score to get all the cores back in 4 years? England only had Portugal as an ally for me and they're like 100 off wanting to give my cores back even though they've barely got no army left and are alone in the war. BBB really isn't easy in 1.31.
I'm having some bad luck with getting the exploit to work, I get it all the way up to getting the ideas for France. But the provinces stays as the new custom nation and doesn't get absorbed by France like in your video (looks like yours even get absorbed before you delete the custom nations). Any ideas what's going on? EDIT: I figured it out, you need the normal save loaded to add the provinces on to, slightly big thing to not be mentioned, although it might be obvious to those who've got a bigger brain than me.
So i had inherited all of Burgundy by 1454 and i still missed out cause of AE - I HATE AE - by the end i took 1 province and all of the world would join a coalition against me like what
Does it work for 1.31 ? I've been trying for the last couple of days and I get caught by the danish's fleet everytime which is better than mine obviously, have you got any advice for this ?
Well there's a lot of factors that go into going bankrupt. Did you go bankrupt due to hitting the max amount of loans? If you're struggling financially as France, you can delete forts that don't give a strategic advantage, or take less provinces and more money in wars. If you're able to separate peace any large allies, you can pay for your troop replenishment and then some. For the run I used in the video I made sure to take money from Portugal and England every time we fought. If you're looking for more tips, I know RadioRes has a few economy guides that will probably help.
Great guide! I just have a problem with the exploit. I tried doing it and it all worked fine until 16:03 when I clicked "cancel" on the Ironman Save UI/ the Select Game Mode UI. It just crashes my game! I would really love a solution to this problem as it is driving me crazy!
This is a common problem. I have a few other videos that use the same exploit. What we have found is playing around with the number of windows you open (3 pairs usually) or how quickly you open the windows in rapid succession, or even how quickly you perform the exploit after launching the game can effect the success rate.
how did france get all the lands from Pale when you clicked on Cancel at 15:29 ? when i cancel it simply does that, its doesn't let me in the save. need help
