Big Changes to Princess Cruises Main Dining Room. Reservations Cancelled and must be remade.

Princess Cruises just announced big changes to the main dining room seating. Princess Cancelled all main dining room reservations past September 14, 2024. New reservations can be made on the Princess App after June 17, 2024.
Princess will now have a different experience in three dining rooms. One will be Traditional Dining with early and late seatings. One will accept reservations. One will be for open and walk ups with no reservations.
We talk about all three main dining room experience and the pros and cons of each.
Specialty dining and Reserve Class Suite Dining are not changed.

I agree the traditional dining is best! The waiters knowledge of your preferences is key. The opening dining has been disastrous with respect to “your waiter getting to know you”. Thanks for clarifying. Someone posted a vlog not explaining that it takes effect September. I’m taking Caribbean Princess 16 night in July to Cornwall, Ireland, Iceland & Scotland. I’ve reserved my seating for 6 PM private table each night. Agree about lines every night all the way to the elevator. I just walk directly to my table every night. 😊 thanks again. I think Princess need a lot of overhaul & better leadership. At least they worked out the dinning. 😊

I just lost $4500 dollars on a Princess Cruise. I needed to change disembark ports. They would not allow it. I didn’t want my money back, I wanted a cruise. They kept my money.

On our last cruise with Princess I made reservations for the same time every night ! There were 12 of us so I made reservations of two tables of 6 ! I politely( with a small appreciation ) 6:37 asked the Manager if we could have the same tables every night to which he said no problem! Our time was in between the traditional times! My point is if traditional dining is too early or late you can still wok it out to get the same waiters and table!

Over the years we have had varied experiences when asking for the same table every night. On a recent cruise on the Regal Princess, the manager was very accommodating for our group of 10. Thank you for your comment. We love hearing about other's experiences.

I think it is such a more efficient use of their dining rooms and I agree it should help with lines. But her 3 smaller ships only have 2 dining rooms?
