I bought some during lock down, best investment ever! Combining them with gym is the best I have done so far! But if you only wanna do bodyweight, rings are the best!
So much great new infos in your videos Dan !! keep them coming and also slide your motivation videos once in a while, that gives a real pump to the people.
Hi Daniel. Your videos are by far the best and informative in youtube. Thanks for those. I have a small issue about dips. Whats your suggestion to perform dips. I felt pain on my shoulders similar to tendinosis after i did dips 5 times a week about a month.
Daniel, do you teach how to build a program on your book? Concerning how many days, how many sets/reps per exercise, how many different workouts (chest day, back days, etc)...
+FitnessFAQs That's exactly right but with bent arms the advantage is that you can get a much better stretch in the pecs due to the retraction of the scapula, which means you'll get a better contraction during the concentric phase. The way I execute them is to by keep bent arms till I reach the bottom position, and then straightening the arm during the concentric phase. You feel a much better contraction when your arms are straight. Also, I try to make that really strong mind-muscle connection to adduct the humerus because as you said, that's where the pec inserts. And these things all make a huge difference and make the exercise extremely effective :)
+Hazzar 1236 If you know your pressing movements, you are probably aware and incline pressing hits the upper chest a lot more. As a result, elevate yourself on a chair like Daniel did in the video make sure that the rings are around 1ft lower than your feet. This way, you'll be in an "incline pushup" position. Now carry out flyes in that position and try to mentally connect with the upper pec muscles.
Vahva Fitness Thanks, at the moment I have a pull up bar that you put in the top of your doorway and another one that I rigged a bit lower to do rows on. Can't wait to get the rings so I can hang from the bars.
This is in no way meant to be said in a rude manner, but you don't blink very much. I find I don't keep eye contact with many people while speaking and when I exercise, I squeeze my eyes shut. Just thought that was interesting, lol.
When I'm doing pec flys, if for some reason I have a problem, some sort of failure, whether it be sudden fatigue, or a muscle spasm, or maybe a pec tear about to happen, I can simply drop the weights immediately and that's the end of it. But doing flys with the rings, I would be looking at a Face Plant!!! The prospect of that bothers me! lol
TheUtuber999 That’s a cute quip, but it would change the angle of the movement and target the pecs differently, unless you also elevate the legs too...and then you’d still be looking at a face plant, or at the least, having to somehow break your fall. But I have a really novel idea…why not do fly’s on a bench with dumbbells, or use a cable machine, like the vast majority of other bodybuilders do. Don’t get me wrong…Rings are a great tool for working out, and are quite versatile, but they can’t take the place of everything, at least not and you still get the most superior all-around workout.
StevenSWM It wasn't a quip and no, it wouldn't target the pecs differently. Strange that you would ask the question when you seem to think you already have all the answers. Whatever.
TheUtuber999 Changing the level of the rings would change the angle of the movement...How can you change the angle of the movement without changing the effect it would have on the targeted muscle...please don't answer that..it was rhetorical...just like the other question you referred to! haha
hey Daniel howcome during pushups my shoulders feel unstable I have good form elbows tucked scapula tight etc? I basically can't do any push exercises without feeling like my shoulders will injure
+FitnessFAQs how retracted are your shoulder blades during the concentric portion of the exercise? it feels like I limit my range of motion whenever I try to keep my shoulder blades too tight together. thanks
I've been doing these with a straight elbow to help improve elbow strength for the planche. I also like doing archer ring push ups with trying to maximize how much I can keep one arm straight. Just a tip for anyone looking to work on the planche
I think his main point was that most people do it with improper form and carelessly, which results in injuries. With proper form, both the dumbbell and ring flies are fine exercises.
Hello, Daniel! So I've been having problems with my pushups lately: basically when i take pushups, my right arm uses more force/strength than my left arm. And i fear if my right arm and chest get a lot bigger than the left arm! Is there any way of fixing this? kind Rgards from Norway bro!
Hey Daniel! Love the content! Very high quality. Here’s some M Research for you, especially since you’re selling a course. I love the scientific approach. But sometimes I don’t understand it. It’ll be nice if you could explain it a bit more in detail. Making sure Homer Simpson could understand. Cheers!!!
+FitnessFAQs you always lure me into a flase sense of security with how easy you make it look haha. only started training 3 months ago now and youve given me a great starting block with the bodyweight exercises, think im about ready to hit the rings. big thanks from melbourne!
Anybody help me with my inner chest? I think it's mainly genetics but I have this big fucking gap in the middle line of my chest and there's no muscle connecting to both my pecs or something. Help please
I'm trying to do this exercise but I'm slowly progressing and trying to keep my elbows straight ( like gymnasts do for straight arm strenght) . I know that if i try to progress to fast I may injury my self so I really take this exercise slow. Whats your opinion about this? Is it still dangerous?
New subscriber. great videos. why did you omit pressing movements? do you believe movements focusing on shoulder adduction is superior for chest hypertrophy?
