Hey Nurse Shay Shay! Can you do a video on how to get started doing travel nursing as a newbie? Tips, advice? I’ve heard horror stories of ppl starting out. Hope all is well, haven’t seen you on YT in a min 🤎
@@ShayyyShayyy888 I haven’t begun to sign up with many yet, considering I’m so new. But Maxim wants to hire me once I pass NCLEX to work corrections, which I’ve always been interested in. I also don’t want to lose my skills, so I’m still thinking about it. I have a list of agencies that I’ve gathered to contact & im also in many travel groups on FB for when I do get ready to take the leap. Do you recommend signing up for companies even before obtaining exp?
@@ShayyyShayyy888 I totally understand! I know you be busy and I respect that 💯 thanks for getting back to me! Can you explain the difference between travel and local agency contracts? Do they pay similar pay? How many months after gaining exp would one be confident enough to attempt agency? I think I want to start local, and defintely won’t start until 8-10 months of exp at the least. Recently heard about a lady who jumped to agency and she’s only been an LPN for 6 months and is already losing her license, because a patient passed under her care behind something! Smh I have also spoken to others who have started after 3-6 months of exp, and I also see some agencies that only require 1 month of exp!!! Like I’m super conflicted with what’s what.
@@MaineBaeRN26 Ok good so corrections is honestly straight forward. I’ve had friends who like that type of work. So, 2 things you have to weigh how bad do you need this money because skills can be relearned ? This contract would be the better option if you want some cushion. But if you are on a time crunch, money not so much as an issue, you already know what specialty u want to be in that will help you further in life (advanced education or travel nursing etc) then this option is the best.
When I was in California I was working with girls that hired nannies or a family members. Just put money on a card let em have fun while u work because the money was that good ❤️ If I did have kids baby they getting on that plane lol
