I totally feel you and sorry you went through that. I got done exactly like you on a per diem assignment, exact same way. Never even got into the system for four hours and they told me to take patients plus insulin and meds were due now past due, and not one person helped me. Then when one patient was discharged, I immediately got another one. Pt came in so fast, I just knew it had to be someone else’s admit. That’s how they do you. Now I can write a book on how I got dogged as a travel nurse on two different assignments. Whole another story.
I feel you on this. I found myself being rude to one of my charge nurses when she handed me a paper for an admit after having 5 pts . 4 of which were Covid pts the 5th that I had to give 2 units of blood and the 6th coming was a psych patient that was a high fall risk and had restraint charting every two hours. I was so mad I couldn't even hide my emotions and that's rare lol.
