I have no frame of reference for what the hell Blobby is (I've since Googled it) but the mere fact that Jack brings it up at 46:20 and then it fuckin' shows up at the very end, and the hilarity that ensues, is the funniest thing I've seen this year and makes me wish we got TV like this in Canada.
"How the fuck were you allowed near kids?" Haha, as a non-Brit who's never seen Mr. Blobby before, I couldn't agree more with Jack. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING?
Ikr? This show is hilarious! I like that they're all just cracking jokes and having a good time and putting down stupid answers. Where as the ones in the US are all so serious :)
The term you're looking for is 'panel show'! The UK has plenty of proper serious game shows as well, but panel shows use the format as a premise for comedy.
When I saw the first mention of him earlier in the show, I looked at your comment and thought you were mental. Then it got to the part where he came out and I nearly passed out laughing.
Whoever's in that Blobby suit is genuinely a great comedian and a great performer. EDIT: Apparently it is indeed Barry Killerby, the original Blobby performer.
The 6 minutes of Mr.Blobby are both scarier and funnier than Saw. I'd watch Mr.Blobby's quiz show anytime, provided that the BBC keep supplying him with pure crystal meth.
The whole last 10 minutes are greatness. Dara pissing himself when Blobby does that fistpump is the best thing ever. "I'm loving it. I'm loving it, I don't give a shit. This is the happiest I've ever been in my life."
Sheldon Cooper Didn't Jesus just take the fish and bread and divide them into 500 equal size portions, but it took so long that everyone just said they were satisfied so they could go home and actually eat instead of waiting a long time for Jesus to finish dividing another loaf of bread and fish?
Omg I think I'm having a heart attack. I'm crying so much I can't even see the screen now. That is the best slapstick comedy I've seen in a long time. This Mr. Blobby is terrifying and I completely understand why Jack is terrified of him.
The bit with Mr Blobby had me crying and screaming with laughter. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Jack Whitehall's genuine fear was f*cking hilarious.
how the fuck where you allowed near kids ..... seeing as i'm not brittish i have no clue who mr blobby was , but this whole segment had me crying from laughter throughout
If you were a child of the 90s (like me and Jack), Blobby was legitimately terrifying. Tuning into Noel's House Party was always a risk. Don't know what they were thinking...
I have always thought that the authors of Teletubbies was on something when they came up with them. Then I saw Mr Blobby, a character we did not to my knowledge have in Sweden. That guy is on something himself. BTW Dara is great.
"If they are teletubbies, I will lose my shit" - "teletubbies are joyous things, mr.blobby is evil" - And then when they brought him out!! I have never laughed so hard in my life. Wheezing from it!!
i've never seen mr Blobby, he wasn't on Dutch TV, but the way he goes mental at the end is one of the most amusing things i've ever seen on youtube. :P
Mr. Blobby. What is this thing of nightmares?!!!!!!! What the actual fuck?! I mean, the eyes, the destructiveness, the energy of a cocaine addict and the distorted voice. Why is the hell-monster from Sam WInchester's nightmares on TV, and who let it near kids?
For a while I was working with an occultist, and we paid a visit to a man that was suffering from a "spiritual affliction". When he spoke, it sounded a lot like that Mr. Blobby thing. England, what... the fuck? LOL.
1.) Jack Whitehall is adorable. 2.) I wish with all my soul that this would be aired in the States. 3.) Christmas came early this year - THREE BFQs arrived on RU-vid within a matter of days!
The O.J. Simpson car chase was June 17, 1994 - not July. I'll never forget it - it was also the night before my uncle and aunt-to-be's wedding. We had a big family dinner at my grandma's house, and she was extremely unhappy that everybody was watching the chase on TV and not paying attention to the bride and groom.
shiro no, it would. it's just producers dont think there's any money in this. Joe West ricky gervais once said he tried to pitch a show like these british celeb panels type game shows and after explaining it to the exec, the exec said something like ok whos the winner? how do you keep points etc. The exec didnt get that sometimes people will watch stuff like this just because its funny. American execs think people only want a game show with suspense and big winners. i forget the exact words. but i remember reading it a while ago.american has plenty of funny people, just not on tv. theres plenty of great comics on podcasts, Never not funny, comedy bang bang, super egi, adam carolla, mike and tom eat snacks. and many more. Just look at all the VH1s "I Love the 80s/90s, those were pretty funny with all the guest they had on. it has nothing to do with who's funnier, thats all a matter of opinion Shiro . Yes american comedy is different from the UK but i love both personally. I dont only have to like one thing and hate the rest. I love all kinds of comedy. right now i just got into a New Zealand (could be Australian not 100% sure) show Late Night Big Breakfast its pretty funny and weird. i think a show like this in america will be just as funny, if done with the right people.
***** its worked before for america, from the 40s (including radio) to the 80s. What Hollywood squares you talking about the recent hip-hip version? That was awful but TBH i was never a fan of the old hollywood squares.
+eric mation Late Night Big Breakfast is indeed from NZ and features the hilarious Leigh Hart (aka That Guy).Check out Moon TV esp. Hamsterman and Bookzone/time is also there. Proud to be a Kiwi ;)
Rachel Hannan oh man thanks for this late comment. lol I forgot about Late Night Big Breakfast and Moon TV. i should add them to a playlist or something so i dont forget again. I might just go watch that episode you mentioned. Thank you...Kiwi. wait is that offensive in any way? lol is it like the N word? only New Zealanders can say it? But seriously thanks for the reminder. :D
And Alan and Dara laughing at Blobby has to be almost as great as Blobby itself. Those two were losing it. Especially Dara. It's funny enough watching a recording, cant imagine how crazy that was in person. Holy crap. I would have been a mix of Jack and Dara. Weirdest trainwreck ever.
