The Maus in War Thunder is a German Heavy Tank that's probably the most iconic vehicle in the game.
The Maus never really made it into WW2 Combat but Gaijin decided to add it back in the day because they could! And why not? Well... it's since been removed from the game but was available to research over the sale period. Why was the Maus removed? It's because it's a difficult tank to balance. It's too powerful to go to 7.3 and at 7.7 it's a difficult machine to play.
Overall, I really don't think the Maus is awful. I certainly don't enjoy playing it because it's slow and such a large target to hit. However, its gun is very capable and if you play it correctly it can definitely cause issues.
The 128mm cannon can punch almost 250mm of armour and will disintegrate the internal components and crew should it penetrate. Since the introduction of overpressure, the little 75mm cannon with HEAT shells can overpressure light tanks too! Having two guns is pretty nice especially since the main 12.8cm cannon takes a long time to load!
