7 case you didn't know your average 5000 BTU window air conditioner that you would buy at Walmart for $150 bucks drawers about 5 to 6 amps some of them are more efficient and run about 4amps. one of these computer power supplies even just a little 500 w at Full Tilt can pull up to 10 amps at 120 volts! thats nutts
using the kilowatt watt meter to tell what's going on I have seen this particular computer pole 230 Watts with the 800 watt power supply. I have a Linux computer with a different board in it completely and it's only pulling 20 to 30 Watts all the time currently I have the exact same 550 watt power supply in this Tower right now.
seeing about 120w / 1amp draw.
I never used to care about any of this but if you leave a computer like this running all year round and never turn it off it starts to add up
