Because of your work, you inspired me to start. Looking into the saw now I have always been crafty and have a ton of fonts really want to make the wood round signs with 3d letters. Your page is awesome, same name on IG, I want to go follow (I'll look up this username in the meantime)

I just ordered the Dewalt scroll and looking forward to getting into it. I am trying to determine how I am going to go about putting my image onto the wood to cut. You are creating your file and then printing on to what type of paper?
@nvwoodco
@nvwoodco 3 года назад
Thats awesome man you'll love it. I just print it on normal paper then use spray adhesive to adhere it.

@@nvwoodco Any tips on printing larger files that take multiple pages? I have been doing the spray adhesive on single sheets but I would like to attempt a large name sign next. Just having a hard time figuring out the larger size printing.

Anything bigger, I send the file to staples and have them print it. I use the blueprint, black white service. Its pretty cheap

I really liked your video. I have been interested in getting into some script work using a scroll saw. I have been using a jig saw so far and for those really tight spots, it makes it really difficult and requires a lot of sanding to finish. I also have that same Kobalt cordless random orbital sander and really like it, especially being able to adjust the speed. I noticed you use the DeWalt scroll saw. How do you feel about it? Do you think it was worth the money compared to a cheaper one, especially since I won't be doing this a whole lot? Or is the DeWalt really worth that kind of price? I'm subscribing and hope you will do some more script work so I can copy your technique. Thanks!
@nvwoodco
@nvwoodco 3 года назад
I started with a cheaper ryobi at first and it got the job done, but the dewalt is just a way better machine, night and day difference. Way more smoother, less vibration, adjustable tension and speed etc. Oh and undoing the blade from the top to insert into the inside of letters is way easier then on a cheaper machine. And thank you for all the kind words 🙏 🤙😁

@@JOATology one other thing, the dewalt will sell quick and you'll recoup most your money back, anytime i see them pop up for sale on marketplace they go quick!

@@nvwoodco thats another good tip. I didn't really think about that but I might decide I'm not really into it. I have been seeing a few of the harbor freight models here and there on marketplace and they seem to go for about half their original cost, which is a good indication to me that they're just not that good in the quality department. But I guess that would be entry level...I really appreciate the knowledge. I'll keep an eye out for a Dewalt

@@nvwoodco Can you link the exact blades on Amazon? Thank you so much! I live in the Canadian arctic and it’s so hard to get certain types of lumber and accessories. Online shopping is the best I can do. I don’t even think they sell MDF here, I use good one side plywood. I tried doing a name in cursive print, it broke in four places.
