BIG Topwater Gator Bluefish - SHARE the JOY of FISHING - Popping for Chopper Blues. My favorite kind of bite. The sea gives you signs. You can tell by the look in a birds eye. The color of the water. The distinct sound of the lapping waves in front of you. The definition of the sand and rock behind you. The chop and rips on the horizon. The waltz of the sun and clouds above you. Oh my, and the colors. The tone in the human voice. The walk of an angler. The feel of the air flowing through your sleeves. The scent of the ocean mist. You need not man nor fish to know they are around. That is the difference. A hand full of casts and a beautiful bluefish on. Now it is time to enjoy the day.

Another good video…Can blues and or striper be caught thru out the day?Seems since I started to try and learn to fish the Jersey shore most people seem to fish at night for stripers.Don’t seem to see many fisherman during day time.
@FishYourWay
@FishYourWay Год назад
That is a good question. I am a bad example. I just go fishing when I want. I do catch striper in the day. Often. I like fishing in the day and working the water for a few fish to be had. I don't fish for points I fish because I like fishing but I know striper and how to find and catch them at a max volume if I wished so. Always put yourself on moving water if you fish the shore in the day. However, the best time for striper is going to be deep night or a few hour before into a few hour after sunrise. Favorable tides will enhance the bite often. Fish a tidal change a few hour before the high/low or low/high will give you a gauge which tide is better. Your just going to fish both ends of a tide. If your still not catching try the next tidal cycle. Tidal cycles will bring on a different set of fish and variables. If your still not catching you need to move to a new area. Your catch will certainly go up at night. Dusk is a great time as well and my favorite time of day.

Hi Maximus, yea the old hour before! I experience that myself! I really am a big advocate of just getting out and fishing when you can. If I have the time I go. But it is true sometimes you can follow the tides but then it switches, changes or just dies OR ramps up!!! Ramps up is useually the best! I found on the moons is when it changes things the most for better or worse. Thanks always!

Hi Jerry, They were pretty big bluefish. Mostly the smaller blues seem to be in close, but they were true Gators. We used to catch them, that size on the party boats, about ten miles out. I went fishing last Wed in the Indian River Lagoon. I didn't catch any fish, but the dolphins and schools of mullet were everywhere. I'm glad the blues are still in your area. This has been a great start to the summer fishing season. Good luck and have fun, Mickey

Hi Kenshiro thank you for the kind words. They were great and done good fishing this day. Very nice people doing what fishing is all about. Many anglers forget what fishing is all about. I try to learn something from everyone I meet. I find everyone has a unique interesting take on the water and something to share no matter how long, short, or how people fish. I have seen people catching fish doing the darnedest things. Those are the things I find the most interesting!
@KenshiroRyuFishingDojo
@KenshiroRyuFishingDojo Год назад
@Fish Your Way Your a great person not just a fishermen. When theres no fish for everyone, someone with the size 1 hook will hook up a 30 incher bass randomly and pull up side of jetti like it was easy, which i saw happen 2 weeks ago there lol. You right fishing is all about taking it easy and enjoy watching other catch big fish.
@FishYourWay
@FishYourWay Год назад
Thanks kindly for the words Kenshiro. I don't recall ever saying "fishing is all about taking it easy and enjoy watching other catch big fish," but that is a part of the experience and some good humble words. To elaborate on my focus upon how I learn these days in some words. I have found it pointless to focus my mind on the routine. Watching the routine gives a good broad vast picture of what is going on. One can now predict an outcome within reasonable limits. When one notices the out of routine - now you have something to learn and grow upon. Take the random, create a focus and add that to a routine. I love a routine, however I spent many a day a time outside a routine just to find other outcomes based upon following a random I have noticed. Then go back to the routine. Have to love fishing!

How do I counter gator bluefish taking my lure? I already lost 2 super strikes as of this past week. I’m using 30 pound braid with 40 lb leader that’s connected through an fg knot. The blues swallowed my poppers whole and bit through my leader clean off taking my popper and clip. I have people telling me that blues taking your lure is just your luck and my set up is completely fine and ideal.
@alleykat5188
@alleykat5188 Год назад
You need 60lb leader if blues are around,those poppers costalot of money.
@Recon-go7yg
@Recon-go7yg Год назад
@@alleykat5188 will it go well with my 30 lb braid?
@FishYourWay
@FishYourWay Год назад
One thing you can do may help is remove that middle hook, no guarantee they still will grab the head. It is ideal but I lost one this day as well so it happens. I been using 30lb. That popper was 7 years old I think and caught alot before one took it. Alleykat mentions the 60lb that will help as well. I use 50lb when I am bait fishing and get most in but do get break offs. It happens.
