One big reason I love Z is because he is insanely strong but also remains humble. Not saying Eddie isn't a nice dude too, but he definitely has a bit of an inflated ego and can come off pretty cocky
Since the 501 deadlift I see a lot of people shitting on Hall. Before that all the strongman fans were pretty respectful to the competitors. It's obvious that Eddie is dealing with a hip injury here. He holds the axle record, the people who know a bit about strongman know that he has amazing shoulder strength. I would want to see everyone who's trash talking strongman lift anything close to that.
@@ProSs1997 you're talking uniquely about WSM titles. There is more to strongman than WSM. Like the Arnold classic, for example. Z vs Mariusz on that one is 8-0.
@@ProSs1997 You forgot about IFSA which Big Z won about 2-4 championships with in the 2000’s which had way better Strongmen in it (Pudzanowski from WSM is only exception). You forgot about Bill Kazmaier the only man that got banned for 6 years due to him dominating the field and his personality. He should’ve won 1988 but they screwed him over on a few events especially the bell throw over. He would have no doubt won 1980-1986 indefinitely. 1987 they didn’t hold a WSM competition. Plus read into the log lift of the 1988 Strongman competition and you’ll see how more impressive that lift was then the log’s lifted today.
@@robertgammett8718 I think you misunderstood his comment, he was obviously talking about Eddie hall who talks or atleast implies that he was unbelievably strong in 2016-17. On the other hand, humble Big Z never says that, he just breaks records and walks off
@@robertgammett8718 You clearly haven't watched every interview then. In the one with Neil Pickup, Eddie outright states he believes he's the strongest man to ever live.
@@rajdeepbhowmik5335 I'd say Z's prime in Strongman will have to be 2000-2015 . He won almost everything he entered with only Shaw as a real threat to titles after Pudz moved to MMA. The ones he didn't win, he was usually runner up or 3rd at worst, which is still pretty damn good in my opinion. It wasn't until after 2016 when he really started to drop off due to persisting shoulder issue.
Based on static strengh only at peak, Biz Z wins the log and the squat. Eddie owns the conventional deadlift (by a good marge) and Axle press. But Z is still the best "overal" strongman including moving events and dumbell.
@@e.c.9468I don't know about the axle press if it's for max than maybe Eddie can win but at reps Z is definitely the superior athlete and almost anything including movement Z is the better athlete at
Big Z: "how many reps?" Ref: "you got it champ, 8." Big Z: "Thank you." Class & a record of Greatness, not a One Hit Wonder, but a long history of Greatness.
When was this? It looks rather recent. Also, why don't the interviewers wait at least half a minute before shoving the mic in his face? Let the man rest god damn
You've probably figured it out by now considering it's been a few months, but I'm pretty sure that was back in 2017. I could be wrong, but I think Eddie couldn't do more bc he had a bad hip at the time, and that was his last strongman event at Britains strongest man. But I could be mixing it up
@Marcus Bailey Yeah lift 500kg, win one major show and self proclaim strongest man to ever live. When this here is the real strongest. Winning 8x Arnold Classic, like 16x Lithuania's strongest, 4x WSM, 2x IFSA and still fucking going. Having the log record for over 20 years which has been hotly contested. Eddie complained about Thor, aiming for Eddie's record, but Eddie only training for the deadlift record and not competitions for a time period to get the record is somehow fine? Eddie then only trained specifically to beat Big Z's record and failed, while Big Z was beating his own record almost every year while not even training specifically for it. Big Z was a great deadlifter himself, 527kg Hummer Deadlift, holds the record I believe so if Big Z wanted to give up winning shows and only train deadlift, he would be more than capable of beating Eddie but he isn't like Eddie who turned up to most shows only to come and break records and then leaves halfway through and makes an excuse to always leave so that the self proclaimed Strongest Man to ever live doesn't hurt his fragile ego and he gives himself and his fans a reason to never win another show. Big Z in Arnold Classic in 2017 at 40 years old with an injury, this is at fucking 40 years old, like 10 years after his prime while Eddie in his prime called himself the Strongest Man ever to live that exact year after only winning WSM once, not ESM, not Arnold Classic and the only major show his entire career and not even in dominant fashion, and after self proclaiming deadlift as the most impressive lift only because he had the record in it, and his stupid fans buy into it like deadlift is the only event in Strongman. Real classy. Only people more delusional than Eddie are his fans.
@@olderthanyoucali8512 Eddie owns the world record in the axle lift (a shoulder power lift) at 476 lbs (216kg). He has some super strength in those shoulders! Big Z is the champ, but Eddie was making a name for himself regarding shoulder strength!
@@MrTVx99 Bro Savickas won over 90 strongman competitions compared to Eddie who has 14 . Among those at least 20 are big major events (WSM , Arnold classic , IFSA , Europe strongest man , Fortissimus , Strongman champions league) while Eddie got only one major event in his entire life. Savickas broke over 70 world records , Eddie only 7 of them. Eddie has nothing on Big Z. Dont listen to nonsense Eddie and his fans talk about prime Eddie being the strongest man ever , in 2016 Eddie didnt do shit at WSM or Arnold and in 2017 he lost Europe strongest man to Bjornsson and won WSM by just 1 point advantage over Bjornsson .
I'd say that Eddie Hall in his prime was the only comparable strongman to Big Z in shoulder strength! Big Z still #1, but on a good day Eddie can press well!
No surprise. Big Z has been on the world-class podium for 15 straight years from 2002 to 2016. No streak broken. Eddie Hall has been on the podium for like... 2 years?
@@etiennerivet7545 Me? Sure, I'm not a competitor, but I talk facts. He even didn't try to defend his title. Okay, he did well in his career, but sorry, he can't be compared to Big Z, Shaw, Magnusson, Kazmaier and Thor. He can be compared to Pudzianowski, Jenkins, Virastyuk, Lalas and Poundstone.
Best log presser of all time! Get a 235 or 240kg press and it will probably stand for decades. I think the record will go soon though sadly. Iron Bibby and Eddie are after it. To be over 40 and still this good is amazing! Joints must be screaming. Age is just a number. Congrats Big Z!
I'm his prime if the craze was there of lifting 500kgs, den Big Z would hv done it in a strong man competation, he did 524 hummer tire deadlift without breaking a sweat, no one is as strong as him simply all tym greatest strongman no question at all...
MitchPete this was 2017 Manchester just because he has a deadlift wr and axle by 1kg don’t make him the strongest ever z has a 286 bench Eddie has 285 in comp z has 15kg heavier log has a better squat look at what Eddie really did in 2016/17 won 1 major comp worlds & two world records lost to thor whilst thor suffered a stroke in Europe’s fact Eddie dropped out of more comps than he won in his career how can you say a man that does that is the strongest ever
Big Z is a better and stronger/ more successful strongman. Sorry eddie ”the obese” Hall fan girls. Deadlifting 500KG isn’t 4 WSM and 8 Arnold classic wins. Big Z is better. Period.
jon williams Big Z is the best strongman of all time. No one is more decorated or probably ever will be. It is a bit silly to call Eddie “the obese” since Zydrunas and Eddie in their prime weighed about the same. Eddie in 2017 is noted as being the statically strongest human ever, although Hafthor may hold that title now
Since Eddie did 1 WSM and bailed, I think he just maxed out on roids and food, to the point that it couldn't be maintainable anymore (Don't missunderstand me, Eddie in his prime was the strongest, but Zydrunas was the most consistent)
indeed, Eddie Hall never won a European Strongest Man title, great athlete but non so versatile and fast and resilient, and even not always the greatest static strength
@@abhijithanilkumar4959 Not really, they are fairly equal on most lifts all things considered. The biggest difference I notice is Z makes it look easy and Eddy usually collapses like he's about to die. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3qv1oHZhfEU.html
Big Z is the GOAT. Especially on pressing and squats. Man was untouchable throughout his prime, which lasted longer than any strongman ever. Truly one of a kind. That shoulder was basically a launchpad for weights However, I still believe for a fact that 2017 Eddie is the strongest human being to ever walk the planet earth, statically at least. Nobody, not even Big Z comes close to his versatility in all static lifts. Yeah, this particular event looked off for Eddie that day (which is weird cause his shoulders are just another launchpad of its own). But it doesn't mean Eddie was far off Big Z, even at this point of their career. Just a bad day, and for which he would more than compensate later. Eddie would actually go on to break Big Z's both world records of Axle and Log press in his peak. This event definitely taught Eddie some lessons from the GOAT on how to deliver it at the right moment
