John I loved hearing more about your faith in this video. It's beautiful and I know it has been messy and complicated and torn down and rearranged and God is not afraid of any of that. Not of your struggles, your doubts, your questions, your failures - you're loved. Hang onto the Lord and shout about His goodness from the rooftops
My great Aunt & Uncle were missionaries in Equador & Peru from the 50s to the 80s. They actually went separately. He was Canadian. She was from the US. They met & married on the mission field. If you're familiar with Jim Elliott, Nate Saint, & the 3 other missionaries who were murdered in 1956 by a local tribe, Nate Saint's daughter was the flower girl at my Great Aunt & Uncle's wedding. But all those missionaries knew each other & communicated by radio a lot. (If you're unfamiliar, watch End Of The Spear, a movie from the perspective of Jim Elliott's son. It's a mind blowing story... and make sure you watch through the credits for some hilarious scenes). Anyway... my relatives came home permanently in the 80s b/c my Aunt had a stroke & lost all her function on one side of her body. So the whole time I knew her, she was either in a recliner or in her bed & my uncle would take care of her. And we loved/hated going to visit them. It was going to be 90 degrees in their house no matter the weather outside. Lol. But the stories they would tell were CRAZY. They had so many witch doctor stories similar to what you said. My uncle also drank poison multiple times while sitting with the witch doctors & they are debating on whose God is real. And he didn't die. Witch doctors would become believers. Just crazy! I remember asking him or maybe someone else asked, but the question was "did you ever hesitate to drink the poison?" And he said, "No. If I don't do it, they will kill me. Or maybe this poison will kill me. Or maybe God will do a miracle." To him, it didn't matter. He wasn't scared to die. And he was like 5'4. Super short guy. Not scared of anything. Just doing shots of poison like it's nothing! Lol And my Aunt... I'm not sure if they weren't married yet or if my Uncle was just not home... but she's living in a hut. A guy starts chopping through her wall with a machete...cuz it's a hut... it's just sticks... & she knew she was, at minimum going to be robbed but she was also very likely to be raped. She grabs her Bible and starts praying out loud. The guy got into her hut, but she managed to literally talk him out of his machete with nothing but her Bible. He just handed it to her. They sat down on the floor together & she started telling him about this book she's holding. He becomes a believer & so did his family. Wild!

I listen to most of the Net Positive episodes and love them but I think this one tops all the others. I love the intellectual conversation happening here. I could listen to John Crist talk about anything, but him having biblical conversations are, by far, the best of the best 💯
Absolutely loved this episode! I personally find it hard to deal with proclaiming Christians that don’t believe in the supernatural and try to down play people’s testimony or story of encounters. How can you believe in the Bible that is extremely spiritual and have these supernatural stories and be so carnal. I’ve witnessed so much weird stuff as a child and before I came to Christ, and after. The Bible is so clear on spiritual warfare. My personal opinion on it, is that the American church has become so removed from reality and like mentioned on here, made this bubble. Anytime you go there, it’s makes them uncomfortable so it’s better to just ignore it. I speak as a Christian, that it is so vital that pastors preach and teach the Bible in its entirety and not water down like so many have done. It’s only this country that doesn’t believe in miracles, signs and wonders, which contradicts the Word of God, because Jesus said “these signs shall follow those who believe” and in His name we will do them all. Thankfully there are churches out there that follow Jesus all the way and hold value to biblical teachings and practices. Lecture over 😂… God bless and this episode was so amazing to watch!

You all should listen to pastor Dean Odle from Alabama. He goes through everything that is abnormal In the Bible. Not many pastors teach truth like he does.
Sad, but Preachers have not wanted to talk about scriptures that cause people to get upset as most Christian’s don’t want to enter areas that are strange., or that can’t be explained. I grew up in church,age of 9yo, and so much was not told. Nothing about the unclean animals that God put in the ARK! Sad, but even discussing Revelations was often disagreed with! I just had my 79yo Birthday, and I’ve learned more by praying 🙏🏻 and reading the Word in the past 20 years, than all the years I sat in church ⛪️ Every Christian needs DISCERNMENT from the HOLY SPIRIT. The Lord wants us to be prepared for what is coming as JESUS says the very ‘ELECT could be deceived’ if He doesn’t return! This is the reason we are to seek the Lord and draw closer to Him more than ever as the days are increasing in Eviliness.
Yes! The scriptures are true on multiple levels! So often it sounds like prophecy in scripture has an immediate fulfillment in the time it was first given, and a fulfillment in end times…I just heard you guys talk about foreshadowing…where did we get that idea from??? God tells the best stories-and they’re all TRUE! 🎉🎉🎉 And EVERYONE loves a really good story…📚📖 Maybe that’s your calling-you’re restoring some integral parts of the Story that the church is in danger of losing. Thanks guys!!! And that’s so cool-I was part of a similar youth group type street ministry in Peru for a month! Awesome times!

But couldn’t God have also made Aliens too? (If they are real of course haha). All we know from the first form of existence is from the Bible. And even Biblically, the Bible was written thousands of years after the events in Genesis took place….😅

Maybe you should actually look into Biblical Creation.. What does the Scriptures describe? Definitely NOT a spinning ball whirling through space. We are fixed and immovable just as it is says. Open your Bibles truth is inside.❤you all.
