After hunting public marshes in the morning in open country from the ground, K.C. decides to make the long haul deep into public ground with his saddle, bow, and grunt call looking for deer.
The evening seems like it almost may end as a bust, with the only animal showing being a Boone and Crockett possum. That is until a ginormous whitetail buck appears; cruising downwind of some doe bedding. K.C. calls to him and the buck turns 180º and heads strait in to his stand looking for a fight! Then, a giant goes down on Public! However, its not without drama! A well-placed but questionable shot, local sabotage, and private land fences all attempt to cause K.C. grief, but the hunter prevails!

Interesting observation.. @17:41 I noticed the Phillips 66 gas sign said $1.89 a gallon... So I looked at it on google maps now. Image taken Aug 2023. 3 years later it's $3.49! Trump 2024 ya hear me!!! 🙏 I-35N exit 55 to hwy 7 next to Davis Oklahoma. Wonder what it will be in 2025 ;)

I was hunting a 186” (which I managed to kill btw) on public ground in Illinois. Three days before I poked him, someone slashed all 4 valve stems on my tires. The mechanic showed me the slices. I lost a whole day hunt waiting for the local tire shop to replace my stems. I think some local was trying to send me a message. I sent a message back with my bloody arrow at the parking spot 👍👊. Nice buck brother!!

Next video, show some footage of you guys sitting in camp at night reminiscing about the hunt. I’m from the northeast (Maine) and a big part of the hunt is camp life and family and friends. @@TheElementWild You should put some thought into doing it one day. Not the deer density’s that your used to, but we do have some big, old bucks in northern Maine. Our state record for weight is 356 pounds, so they grow em big up here. We also have a healthy Moose population, which is a lottery hunt, but worth putting in for, each year you don’t get drawn you get extra bonus points for the next year. There super good eating, and they fill your freezer in a hurry. You definitely should come check it out, from the coastline in southern Maine to the mountains in the northwest and farmland in the northeast and timber company land in between. We also have a good black bear population, and they get pretty big as well. If you can do it, you won’t regret it🦌

Not for sure. I’ve seen multiple one lungers make it. Killed later and confirmed. I’ve Even seen one with arrow Stuck and broke off in chest on one. Tough animals. I do agree on this one I thought where he hit and his reaction on this deer I was sure he was dead too. Somewhere...

Yeah I think our buddy Bryan was just doing his best to be realistic. He has killed a ton of deer, so he is a good guy to consult. Of course, when you aren’t there it’s hard to make as good of a judgement.

Agreed man. Deer, especially northern big-bodied bucks are super tough. I used to think that you just needed to hit them between the shoulder and ham and they’d expire, but more experience has taught me that I want close shots with good accuracy.

How far did it end up going from the shot? And what broadheads you using? The shot Looked like there should’ve been blood all over. Nice buck! Congratulations

170 yards. Pretty far really. In person you could tell he tipped over dead, which was good. I was shooting the Day Six Evo 125s. They are a smaller cutting diameter. Blood wasn’t great, but I think it’s attributed to the way the bucks body was positioned at the shot. Those broadheads are super tough and sharp, but I do think I’ll move to the Evo-X for whitetail. It’s a good bit wider and still just as durable.

I bet Natty Gear makes your size. They’ve got a great selection. On arrow and bows, we don’t yet. Honestly, neither of us are bow nerds, so we just get something we feel good about shooting and hunt with it. Arrow wise, we are shooting Day Six Gear 300 spine arrows. The most durable arrow on the market. I’m shooting 543 gn at 260ish fps or of my triax. 28”/71lbs.

I slowed it down and it looks Pyloric Artery to me since it went down at such an angle. I know you'll find him but he will be a ways before he bedded down.

You know more than me! Lol. We’ll release a video on our private FB group that shows the internal damage. I will tell you that the shot was higher on the body than what we thought. He also expired in a way (legs out on a trail) that made me think he tipped over as opposed to bedding down.
