Something we do a lot in the oilfield when lifting weird stuff is use a come-a-long as one leg of the rigging (usually the longer/lighter side). Then you can easily adjust it in the air to hang perfectly level
@pin65371
@pin65371 2 месяца назад
I just said exactly the same thing.. I said chain-fall though.. Chain-fall is supposed to be used for vertical and it is easier to adjust since it has a chain to make adjustments. I'm thinking you meant to say chain-fall though. Come-along is just a handle that you can haul on.

It's pretty amazing that you get as close as you do. The lumber the truss companies have to use is crap these days, I guess all the lumber we get anywhere is crap. I have sifted through thousands of bunks to find good lumber. My family was either carpenters or masons, I chose the bricks and honestly, over the last 400 years everything is sub standard, it takes a craftsmen to overcome the product. Years ago I had one of those tele handlers balanced on two wheels with my cheeks clinched hard enough I could have made a diamond! I was also within inches of power lines! It was almost surgical lowering the load to get it back down. I think I was 18 at the time and my dad was spotting me. He was clenched harder than I was! Keep up the good work and kudos for passing it down!

Over 15 years ago I helped build a hay barn of similar size but we used full length trusses and had a mobile crane for setting it. I was brung on to help set the trusses cause they needed an extra guy on the ground for rigging and running the tag line. The one side has a 60ft opening and one end with a 40ft opening. The farm wanted it so they could load hay onto trailers during inclement weather. It was for a large hay farm in the thumb of Michigan that sells hay that mostly gets shipped out of state. The Amish built another smaller barn that happened to get blown down during a storm. The company I worked for they did alot of work for farms, co-ops and factory's so they also did steel work.
