Happened all the time with kids in 2005 with Pokemon selling and trading each other and sometimes got rid of valuable cards because they didn't like that Pokemon...my son was a kid then.
He wanted to make a tiktok being a baller. Buying cards like that has to be a waste of money. His parents were idiots to let him spend that money on that. He could have invested that money in any number of things, cards has to be one of the worst.
I remember when the very first Pokemon cards came out, I never got into it, but had a few friends that were...I didn't think at the time they would end up being so expensive. Just imagine, knowing what I know now, back then. I'd tell you exactly what I'd do. Buy Yahoo stocks when they were .18¢/share 😢
When I collected cards as a kid it was about buying a few packs every other month or so… spending no more than $10-20 at a time and hoping you got a good card. It was all about the joy of getting lucky… Spending THOUSANDS as a kid on something you can’t utilize or play with is crazy. Its very irresponsible to allow as a parent. That money could’ve gone to much more meaningful things.
The father should feel stupid because they spend much money just for the card which does not do anything or just flex on it but is obvious that you can’t eat they buy the cards with thousand of moneys while the poor people suffering with no money and some have no food
I am from 🤷Portland 🤷Oregon 🤷 how the f*** white players actually be f****** good, nevertheless how the f****** they be rare... I did not see 1 nigga sports card
My mom:WHO THE HE'LL SPENT 1700£ ON FOOTBALL CARDS. me:before my mom said here's my rent money me:mom can I borrow 1700£ for rent mom:HE'LL YEAH PAY SOME RENT B¡》tc《

No Bro, The cards will have this value for all time, he can just sell in future for some collector or card store and get the money back, just stupid ppl dont understanding this.
Yea it’s only an investment a very bad investment. Can’t believe people still buy sports cards and Pokémon cards. But he is super young and I was into cards around his age so I can’t knock him. My dad threw away my whole card collection when I was a kid lol
His dad is one of the biggest scam 'influencers' in this hobby and is the entire reason shit content like this exists. I cannot wait to watch him eventually make a fool of himself in the public spotlight
Great parenting 😂 Now try and go flip those cards if you wanna get your money back. I’ll wait… That seller doesn’t have those cases full and cards stacked on top in the background for no reason 🤣
He lucky my parents didn’t even let me spend over $90 unless it’s was my cash from when is was 5 Damn I crapped myself when I saw how many likes my comment got
Jul 2022, they were 1700. I looked up every card. Here's the prices now (Feb 2024): Joe Burrow [Silver Prizm] 146 [Rookie] 2020 Panini Select - $125.50 Justin Herbert [Silver Prizm] 44 [Rookie] 2020 Panini Select - $82.50 Joe Burrow 2020 Select Field Level Silver 346 - $461.00 Justin Herbert [Holo] 153 2020 Panini Donruss Optic - $272.75 Altogether the cards are now worth 942 so he lost more than 750 haha.
Careers are still early… if all cards go up in value… when he resells later the 10’s are rare putting him first in line to resell for possibly double… kinda like paying a quarter back millions but he could flop… it’s all investment
@@changedman7627 😂😂😂99% of the garbage produced today will be worthless in 5 years. Anyone who's been in the hobby longer than the last few years knows that. And this kid is Geoff Wilson's son, he didnt buy these as a collector or to sit on them. Hes a flipper just like his grifter daddy.
@@BigMonke-fh7tl fr like if u had all those cards and kept getting the best ones it wouldn’t be fun anymore, you wouldn’t take it for granted, and you’d most likely lose all interest in collecting cards. The fun of getting a jersey patch or sum after waiting weeks or months to get more cards is a lot better than getting the best cards whenever you want.
People saying "spending all that money on cardboard" is the equivalent of saying "you work all that time for a piece of paper". Most ignorant statements in these comments.
Not sure when this video was taken. But as of right now the total value of all these cards at psa 10 is $2,252. With the 2 most expensive cards trending upwards in price
That scammer couldn’t even look that child in the eyes when taking the money. He was probably trying to hide his face as well. Absolutely shameful behavior. If you wanted to disappoint God, this is how you disappoint God.
😮 wow 😲😳... Kid smart dude I swear to God..kid is smart ... That's a prophet turning right there in a few years he keeps it That's just going to be more money awesome cards 👍👍
I fell bad because looking back he was getting a good deal but now all those cards are worth like 800. But I hope that those cards will go up in price because you never know when something is a good buy or not.
😂😂😂as someone who's been in the hobby for 30 years, you dont always know a good deal.....but 1700 for unproven young guys is a safe bet not to take. It's simple, when you can get a brady rookie cheaper than a guy who was just drafted, that should tell you that theres nowhere for that card to go but down. "Prospecting" used to be finding future stars while theyre cheap. Now guys are paying more for the prospects than established players.
@@youmadbro3961 I'm saying I guarantee you waste your money on any number of stupid things. This kid can resell his cards. Can you resell that 100 dollar bag of weed you just smoked?
Sometimes it depends on what card you invest in sometimes if you invest in a card like some random rookie card it’s worth nothing but if you found invested in a Tb12 rookie card in the late 1990’s that’s autographed and everything then it can be worth ALOT more today.
It’s the opposite for me, when I started collecting as a kid they weren’t really worth much & no one around me collected. Now the past few years have been insane to see how much it’s caught on. I use to love hitting the clearance box at Walmart for good topps chrome & other cards but now a clearance section for cards doesn’t exist haha. Everyone I talk to about my cards says how my childhood hobby Can now be a nice investment if I can get it all sold while the market is high.
@@bestgrandma7442it may pay for college, but it's like making him thank about things adults should be worried about, just saying Let a kid be a kid,a game would be better than looking at some damn cards that he has to put in a safe and wait for them to gain value
