It’s interesting you bring up that there aren’t any NPC’s in G/S that mention Lapras in the Union Cave. I have recently been playing Pokémon Gold Reforged (based on the Pokémon Gold Spaceworld demo from ‘97) and there are actually a few NPCs who reference and allure to Lapras appearing in the bottom of the Boulder Mines (Union Cave equivalent). Thought that was interesting how they inevitably removed that in the final releases
That is my favourite fangame of all time after Unbound. Spaceworld '97 reforged is so gorgeous... I never cared for gen 2, and seeing what could have been was eye opening. Some of my favourite Pokemon designs of all time are the scrapped lines... 😢
I've played Pokenon Silver a lot and I'm sure there is a trainer in Union Cave with a Slowpoke that makes a subtle hint to Lapras. He doesn't mention its name but he does say that Fridays he can hear special or unique sounds, something like that. And if I'm not wrong, the closest trainer to Lapras' location does mention looking for a Lapras themselves. I think those are enough hints for a pokemon that, according to the Pokedex, has been hunted to near extinction.
Wait... I'm sure there's an NPC that gives you a hint for Lapras. I _think_ it's one of the FireBreathers in Union Cave. If you talk to them after you've defeated them, one of them says something about hearing a voice coming from deeper in the cave but only on Fridays. I remember that's how I got Lapras in Gold, back when I was like in fourth or fifth grade. And I didn't even have Internet back then

4:15 to be fair as a child I would believe the red Lapras story too! I mean the surf sprite is literally a red Lapras. How more convinced as a child would you have to be?? Also Gyarados and Lapras may look nothing alike but neither to Magikarp either so
White forest was way nicer for real. Ironically, if you really know what you are doing, hard mode is easier in gen 5- the exp curve makes it to where you hardly have to grind at all. (Plus the ×2 crit multiplier in that gen made the first 2 routes a straight gamble either way, and later you could manipulate that to your advantage.) My biggest disappointments have always been the event items being locked behind time sensitive, region specific doors that all eventually become completely unobtainable by legal means (and the Azure flute that had the honor of never seeing the light of day). Some of the most interesting stories and beautiful locations in Pokemon are forever locked away and that is such a pity... So much work gone to waste.
I was so disappointed when I got brilliant diamond and couldn’t get access to the Shaymin or darkrai event since they were timed. They could’ve done so much with the sinnoh remakes in general but they really disappointed me
How didnt bdsp get a mention?? That's whole game was suchhh a disappointment, why they didn't remake the story of platinum I will never know. We missed out on the resort villa, and an updated distortion world come on
@@PastPerspectives3 I think Emerald to B2W2 is when the series peaked, the only main series game that missed during this era was Diamond and Pearl, however Platinum fixed those games.
My disappointment is the fact that Pokemon is the largest franchise yet its recent games have subpar quality. I cant even...😐 Meanwhile the fandom is toxic and delusional enough to label you toxic for pointing out the flaws of the game and they claim you should be thankful to gamefreak for making console games. Yeah....a $60 unfinished game filled with bugs and glitches. They will also claim that a future patch will fix all the issues. Yea, because a future patch fixed SwSh and PLA issues right? Right?
I must be looking in the wrong places cause in my experience it was the opposite to where people would either jump on the hate bandwagon(some even making some game breaking glitches seem worse or more common than they really are) or fairly criticize a game. And most of the former would label those that acknowledge a good thing about the modern games as sheep or people defending game freaks laziness. The games I see this happen the most would be sword/shield, bdsp scarlet/violet and even usum back then.

Fan hacks like Uranium are so much better because they are willing and able to take risks with the proven formula. You'll never see a mainline game stray very far from what has always been. It works, and to stray from that risks profits.
My biggest issues with b2/w2 was the underwater shrine thing you had to use dive for. Waste of a great lugia encounter or something like that and all you got was kings rock I believe.
I’m deff a Pokemon Boomer but your story made me want to share mine. For a bit of a context I was 7 at the release date of Red and Blue however my favorite generation is 7 so i don’t think i qualify as a GenOner (i even like the switch games a lot). However i had the guidebooks for Red and Blue and then of course Silver and Gold and going back to Kanto having completed red and blue was amazing because the books more or less wove the generations together like a story so the lack of birds or Mewtwo made sense because I already had them. Mew and Celebi were the only Pokemon i never got back then but of course in modern times i have them and cherish those guys

The information about Arceus you mention is in PLA but it's... Weird. It's on those things you collect with Ursaluna. I don't recall what they are called. But it writes stories on each one. As well as all the tablets from previous games. If you remember in Gen4 they have text on them. Which your character reads when picking up....or am I thinking of Gen7....?
My biggest disappointment? being unable to hang out with my favorite pokemon in a meaningful way other than forcing it to do acts of violence upon other pokemon. most of the available interactions with Pokemon in these games are either shallow, meaningless or just a gimmick... and i am quite tired of it.

Fighting is neat and all, but I'd love if at the start of a new game you could choose if you want to be say... a Pokémon trainer and fight with them, or maybe bring in a new story where you pursue the path of a contest star like in RSE, where instead of eight gym leaders you face off with the eight equivalent contest celebrities or something.
Well, in my case, I did the thing in which you make the SS Anne to stay just for try using the skill Force on the truck. Because according to the legends, Mew was under the truck. The truck obviously didn't budge. I also did the Safari Zone glitch that was supposed to take you to the Mew Islands. Nah, it didn't. With time they end up being called just Glitch Islands. Btw, I'm assuming you're spanish because of the Revista Pokemon and what you said about Paldea...tio, hablas inglés muy bien, que envidia. Ah, si, también intenté evolucionar a Mewtwo llevándolo al nivel 100 y usando una piedra lunar. Mi teoría era que había 5 piedras lunares pero solo la usaban 4 pokemon, asi que la quinta sería para obtener a Mew.

Things that have disappointed me: - The story in X/Y. It's not That Bad, but there could have been more. Maybe it's just me though xD I'd just have loved to see more, and a good bunch of the characters didn't do much in the grand scale of things. Also like, Hoopa, Diancie & Volcanion were in those games, there could have been little special events in game to catch them. Those powerplants, the train station... I wanna know & see more - The Ultramegalopolis or what have you in Ultra Sun/Moon. It was so empty, and while I get that that makes sense during the story, afterwards it's not restored to some big busy place with a Lot to explore or anything - The story of Sword/Shield. Utter full on disappointment. There are So Many missed opportunities here. The League is corrupted. Champion is the villain. There's so little exploration in that game it hurts. The routes are mostly really straightforward and there's little to no branching paths. There's that powerplant that you're shown, but the route to it is blocked by rope fence so you can't go there. - Many of the towns/cities are barren too with very little to do. One of the worst things for me has to be the museum though. X/Y & ORAS had art museums in them, and while they were small, they at least were museums. In Sw/Sh though? It's literally just one room. We actually walk around the actual museum, go to this one room and then there's no way to go to the rest of the museum. There's a door in the entrance room on the right, but you can't go there. As a person who loves history, stories & lore, this Really disappointed me. The lack of exploration and such was already pretty annoying, but this? This was personal. You already have this building. You have us go in there for story reasons. So. Where, pray tell, is the actual museum part of the museum? The gym 'puzzle' isn't really a puzzle either. It's just double battles with weather teams - which is Cool, don't get me wrong, but it's no puzzle. Imagine if we had to go through the museum itself, find certain things that worked like clues that'd allow us to proceed (or alternately, if you already knew the lore, you could go straight to where you need to give the answers to proceed). There could have been things like, historical eras of Galar, where you'd have to face the ice that once covered the land (Hail Team), the flames that thawed that ice (Sun Team) & same torrential rains that wash over the region (Rain Team) or something like that. Buddy. It could have been so cool. But no. No such thing for us - BDSP = disappointment incarnate. Platinum improvements where? Challenging thoughtful contests who? There could have been so much more here, but instead these games shattered so many things. HG/SS were such an improvement to the original games, ORAS had extra elements that made it different but still interesting & while the lack of Battle Frontier was a Huge disappointment, things outside of it were at least decent or passable. BDSP though? Bro. No. - Scarlet & Violet are pretty nice, just a few things I'd fix/change. The glitches, lag and all that technical stuff. It hinders the game experience itself (sometimes the glitches can be hilarious, but when the game randomly freezes and makes me fear that it has crashed isn't something I'm a fan of. I'm trying to relax here, not have a heart attack). The trainer customization has improved greatly and I love that, but I just wish we could use different clothes, or pick and choose parts of the uniforms or something. Makes me miss the clothing choices of X/Y & Sw/Sh. And this game would have been perfect for letting us be able to choose our age too. The school already has students of different ages, like from 10 to 70 or such. So, like... Why can't I choose to be 30? Or at least 20. Why make a point of there being students of all ages? I get that modeling stuff or such is extra effort, but still. It shouldn't be about your character looking off in cutscenes with Nemona, Arven, Penny etc. Arven & Nemona for one seem to be older, maybe 17 or 19, so a character that was 20 wouldn't look that off next to them. But nope, we can't choose our age A wall of text. I'll leave my thoughts at that or I'll be here for a week lol xD
You wanna know something insane? Challenge mode doesn't even change the stats of the pokemon just the EVs the level being higher didn't make the pokemon actually have slightly higher stats
Not a disappointment, but i remember back in maybe sixth grade, this guy who was kind of a secret nerd asked if i played Pokemon and i said yeah. And he told me that there was a secret dragon if you go east of the last gym and it's called Rahqueezy. I was skeptical but took his word for it. And when i got to spear pillar i was thinking how tf did you end Rayquaza was pronounced like that lmao
Personally, Galar has some of my favourite Pokemon in terms of design, including shinies in many cases. Plus I actually liked the starters, unlike most. I admit that while I prefer the storylines in Scarlet & Violet, and liked some of the new Pokemon, overall I found the new Pokemon designs to be...underwhelming, I guess. And while I love the open world aspect, the fucking lag drove me nuts
