Back then they didn't skate at a speed of 20mph. Barely anyone managed to skate 15. Best hits were in the 80s and 90s when they could skate faster and the game was still physical unlike today.
@@anthonysantillan6767 Several hits in the video were from the 80s. Most hits in the video were from the 90s and early 2000s. You won't see hits like these today.
Beastmode Kid12 I feel like hockey has the hardest hits because of the speed, you have 5 guys on the other team going around 20 mph and a puck going 90+
In our beer league I had my head down receiving a pass across the red line and got absolutely wrecked .. by a girl. 2 years later my teammates are still slipping tampons and lipstick and other stuff into my hockey bag.
Could not stop laughing at 3:02. Guy take so many stride to charge him, and he moves out of the way. Serves him right for trying to pull something dirty like that.
This is the sole reason i love football and hockey. It's something about seeing a grown man get the absolute shit knocked out of him that entertains me so much
if you played hockey you would notice the helmets don't do too much. of course they prevent you from getting brain damage or breaking something but everything still hurts a shit ton.
@@Nuka0420 Unfortunately he wasn't really providing much except leadership out there.. too many injuries and his style of play isn't what the NHL used to be.
It kinda makes sense if u fall wrong but they hardly fall I got hit so hard my ribs almost caved into my chest from getting hit in the chin and doing a full backflip
It's only fast paced game that is legitly in the same time: Strategic-tactical game, skill game, team game, contact sport and as this video shows: a survival game. Keeping yourself alive is a good start in the NHL.
+The Highlight Factory Lol I know Wayne Gretzky. But that's all. I'm not sure if he even plays anymore though. I don't think I've ever watched 1 quarter of a hockey game.
Had a hit like the one at 2:24 once. I was a shorter player, and the other kid was like a foot taller than me and probably 50 lb heavier. Those are the kind of moments you remember--my whole team stood up and cheered.
I play hockey and I encourage anyone it’s not like that until your in the pro league and it’s an amazing sport you should all try it you will have fun and meet a lot of people and make a lot of great friends like I have and your team should and most likely will treat each other like brothers it’s an amazing team sport
It starts long before the pro league. Kids start going for blood in high school, and I honestly think college hits more, faster, and with more intensity than most of the NHL games. College games (between good teams) is like the NHL finals this year between the Bruins and Blues--but all the time. At least, it is at my school.
+Chad Greene I play hockey and i nail people regularly, and I've also been nailed a few times myself, its not the bad, the adrenaline blocks out most of the pain, and while the padding isn't thick, its effective. It looks worse then it is.
+Flat Face Farael I play hockey and I've broke an arm, my collar bone, and split my shoulder(twice). It can be as bad as it looks sometimes. I do agree though the adrenaline makes the average hit almost painless.
Greyson Curry It also depends on the person. Some people get injured quite easily, theres a kid on my team, very skilled player, but very fragile. I've taken some big hits and i've never had any serious injury, just a little shaken up then im back on my feet.
you make the best highlight compilation videos. you can see the effort you took to edit it all so that it followed the beat but wasnt to crazy. your hard work definitly pays off. great job!
Hockey may be the toughest sport out there sometimes, but I have to give the toughest sport award to boxers. I mean yeah, hockey has some fights, but when boxers get in that ring, they always come out with either brain damage, or blood.
There is no greater feeling than an opponent's chest and ribs caving in, lungs expelling all their air in a deathly gasp, steamrolling right over him... and then shaking hands after the game and going for beers like nothing happened.
上州 ☆ well...that’s wrong. Players don’t go for BIG hits because it takes them out of the play as well...they still finish checks. for example, on the forecheck...people still get checked, just not trying to make a big hit. and when players make a pass from the boards, they will be checked after.
@@scotty_clipz6565 Big hits change the momentum of the game. That's why old school players used to hit harder. Teams who finish their checks play better. Todays NHL players dont know understand this. It's sad.
