Danny Smith SENDS IT to the moon trying to make up time on Tallon Vohland in what's arguably the biggest send in supercross history. Support the channel or just get some cool moto gear motofevershop.... #supercross
@@lucascady4992Me too! I wore my set out tho watching McGrath slay the field over and over. It was crazy how much better he was then everyone else that year.
@@shooter7a I know, modern 4 strokes are torque monsters and eat the track, not to mention longer races. It seems like they put more water down now too
@@adamwelsh5744 The ruts add more of a challenge, and they let different skills shine. The guys that like a smooth track are fast at first and then the ruts can change things as the race goes on
that jump reminds us how huge SX in the 90's was! way more air then you see now. the jumps were so steep. todays tracks are pretty boring. but that's what four strokes brought us.
The jumps are still steep and the stuff is still huge. The bikes and riders are better than they were back then. That is why it may look "boring" to you now. I suggest you do a track walk at one of the rounds. It should open your eyes.
I met Tallon and his father at Prarie City when he was a little kid, right after Tyson was hired by Yamaha to ride a YZ80. I couldn't keep up with Tyson's Factory YZ80,and I was on a 78CR250R...😅
@@liamhotspur9182 it's kind of humbling to get your doors blown off by a kid half your age on a bike 1/3 of the displacement..... but I know that feeling. 😂
I traveled from England to watch a supercross. This is the one we watched. Me and my dad was sitting next to the quad, half way up the bottom tear. Never seen anything like it 😯 great memories
Yeah i think it could be a big class again. They just aren't competitive anymore. I didn't really realize how big of a difference there was till watching a yz250 and ktm250sx get lapped in person last weekend in Nashville. They are cool bikes and are a lot of fun but there's no way you'll ever see one podium in a sx event again unless they let the 250 smoker in the four-stroke class.
Late 80's early 90's in Detroit most 125 s did not have enough to do the triples. Only the top guys made the leap and they were coming up short. thanks for the memories.
I raced that era. They used '95 cylinders and the motors were basically as fast as years prior with that move. The chassis wasn't very good for us local riders. My cousin rode a 97 cr125 I bought the 98. His bike was much better although mine was finally faster after I had motorwork done.
It’s crazy that Danny Smith didn’t run him high up that berm in the last corner! Instead he left Vohland to cut down early for the win. That jump looks huge. I wonder how many feet it is?
These were the final days of true motocross/supercross competitors. The days when guys raced right up to the checkered flag while literally banging bars. These days, the riders make sure that they get through the first turn in one piece, then fall in line behind one another and cruise to the end so they can collect their checks.
Have you watched Supercross the last few years? Cooper Webb has 5 of the top 10, including the closest finish for a win. Got Kenny a couple of times in the last turn. A few races ago had Webb had a .05 second lead over Sexton at the finish. You don't know what your talking about.
@@iceKOIddo you watch Supercross now? It's been really exciting. If they put a massive jump like that in, yeah it's neat, but every guy would do it now, quads now are in rythym sections, some tracks don't even have traditional triples, they're just there for air time, but if they put a big jump in like that, with that much run, every guy would do it, it would take away from the racing. The quads now are in rythym sections. To say it's not exciting, yeah some are boring when someone has a ten second lead, but it's exciting when they battle.
@@eli9494 I hear what you are saying, and yes I’m watching this season and it’s great. I started following motocross diehard in 1998 and lost interest around 2018. Maybe I was burned out but I have enjoyed last year and this year a lot. The bikes and lap times are so fast we don’t see battles like we used to. It’s only if someone makes a mistake, and it’s rare with the top 5 guys to do that. Also I believe removing the dragon back jumps and minimizing the whoops section has made mistakes even more rare.
Theres a shot from 90s I think Anaheim with 5 guys in air same time off a massive quad about same height and distance as that in 250 main, theyve really clamped down on air time on these tracks.
Unnecessary and not safe as far as what happens if you get it wrong and end a career. There should never career ending obstacles. When the track builders see someone clear an unintended obstacle they should immediately make changes to prevent it from happening again. Reduce speed. Reduce height. Better racing.
And you're a spectator! What a drag you must be. Who cares if they have the confidence to attempt shit like this. Risk/reward; the nanny-state is for the inferior.
