Satanism is partially a jab towards Christianity, but also its own thing. It’s basically worship of yourself rather than a higher power. Obviously more to it than that, but that’s my basic understanding of what it is.
@@emi_910 1. The cross does not belong to Christianity, it originally belonged to Paganism. Jesus did not die on a cross, he died on a torture stake (and it's actually historically accurate) 2. The Cross of Saint Peter or Petrine Cross is an inverted Latin cross, traditionally used as a Christian symbol. The upside down cross is used in Christianity and was invented by Christianity. 3. Satanism and the upside down cross is not connected in any way. Nor do Satanists care about Christians at all. Satanism is its own religion and it's not evil and people don't worship the devil nor do they believe in the Christian concept of the devil. Satanism is about worshipping yourself rather than a higher power. When a preacher discussed those passages recently he just ignored the slave part. And I thought, if that doesn't discredit the whole thing then I dunno what does 🙈😂

As a Christian I think it’s important to keep in mind that the Bible can be used to justify or vilify ANYTHING if you select the right verse and phrase it just right.
Just standard cherry picking by organised religion really. It's a bit like saying 'blood is thicker than water' to try and convince people to stick by family even if they are abusive but the actual full quote is 'the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb' which actually means the promises and bonds you choose are more meaningful in life than who your parents happened to be.
Some guys confuse being gentle, respectful and appreciative with submission. Well and it’s not a gender issue. Tho I’m sure these guys mean by submission that the woman should be a doormat basically.

Big Nik: “The Bible says this this and this” Someone: “Well actually if you look at the verse you cited in context, that’s not what it means-“ Big Nik: “I CANT HEAR YOU OVER MY INCREDIBLY LITERAL READING OF CHERRY PICKED BIBLE VERSES”
But yeah, fundamentalism and biblical literalists have destroyed so much of the nuance and beauty of the Bible (at least from the standpoint of a believer) Yes, some of the Old Testament texts are supposed to be literal historical documents but some of them (Job, much of Genesis, etc) are supposed to be read less literally and more with the question(s) in mind of: Who are we (The Hebrews) and where did we come from? (Genesis 1; we are made in Gods image but something -our sinful nature- separates us from him) How does God feel about us? (He loves us) Why does God care about us? What do we know of Gods love? (Job tells us he doesn’t go back on his promises, Noah’s story tells us he promised to care for us, Jonahs story that he can be wrathful but also forgiving, etc.) The rules that people cite in Exodus against homosexuality (not the 10 commandments, the ones in the same section that chad chad cites about tattoos) are for Gods people during a very specific time in their relationship with God and that’s not even taking into account the mistranslations. It’s important to know which parts of the Old Testament are meant to be read from a historical viewpoint and which from a more cultural lens or else you lose the nuance For instance, a lot of people dont know that Jonah is satire, and spend way too much time trying to figure out how a man could have actually lived in a whale for three days and that detracts from actual discussion about what this says about God and his ability to love and forgive us, which I think takes away from the beauty of the actual message of the story. And that doesn’t even begin to take into account the fact that Paul’s letters, which comprise much of the New Testament, were meant to be specific advice to specific people/groups of people and not general advice for everyone. This means that often times we as readers can still take away truths about God and our relationship with him, but to do so we must consider the very specific contexts that Paul was writing these letters in. (There’s a verse that says women shouldn’t talk in church. Someone reading this verse without the context that surrounds it would say that this means women should be silent, and only men can contribute to theological activities. However, this was written to a church where the women were talking over sermons/discussions without contributing to them. So rather than saying women should keep their mouth shut, the truth that might be taken from this is that people of ANY gender, not just women, should be respectful during services/discussion and save other conversations for elsewhere) My brother is in seminary but I haven’t devoted a lot of time in particular to studying the Bible, so please feel free to correct me if anything I said isn’t accurate based on historical understanding of the Bible.

Him being “against Buddhism” just shows how little he actually researches the things he talks about.. Buddhism doesn’t have to be a religion! It’s actually debatable weather it might be more of a philosophy, or a collection of philosophies. Furthermore Buddhism doesn’t interfere with most religions at all- so you can easily live as a Christian while also living by buddhist principles since they don’t interfere with each other and don’t break each other’s “rules”.
Yeah exactly. Buddha was an Indian Prince who left everything in search for enlightenment. And then later on his disciples started calling themselves Buddhists and made it a religion after he died even tho he clearly said he didn't want that to happen
@@Himanshi.Y when did he say he didn't want it to happen? It was called Buddha sasana from the start and was one of many small religions founded in North India along with jainism, ajivika and many extinct ones so I'm just confused why Buddha would've not expected it? Maybe I interpreted it wrong.
Being Christian doesn't interfere with Buddhist principals, but being Buddhist does interfere with Christian principals. The bible is pretty clear on idolatry, and following a philosophy that isn't named by god or his son is pretty clearly idolatry. Granted, this interpretation of the bible (which is more textually accurate, I should say, the bible makes no mystery of what god thinks about idolatry) means that having a crucifix is a very grave sin. Worship in a church that has any bronze crosses or depictions of Jesus? That's a sin. Worship in a church that holds the bible as a symbol and prays towards it? Believe it or not, sin. Your church has ever held a nativity play? That's definitely a sin. The moral of the story is that unless you're going to be as horribly specific about how you worship as the bible is, then you have no right to criticise others for the same. Judge not lest ye be judged, and let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

@@rubylee9566 That's because they typically don't have to bring that up in that type of conversation, because it's not what the conversation is about. Actual Christian guys never plan on making a decision without their wife. That's the way it is with most guys, they just want to make their wives happy. However with most girls these days, not all, they like to be very independent and that's not how a relationship should be. A marriage/ relationship should be two people that operate as one, not two people that operate separately. Nobody is independent, not the guy or the girl. With all of the talk about being 'independent', guys worry that their partner won't care about what the guy thinks and will do whatever 'makes them happy.' That's why it's such a big issue for guys, but girls see it like the guys are trying to be controlling. Now I'm sure you have stupid guys that ARE VERY controlling and label themselves as being Christian and stuff. But no matter what, the most important thing is just caring about whatever makes the other person happy. That's usually the way I am with my girlfriend. She wants to do something, and I'm not like 'NO SUBMIT TO ME PUNY UNDERLING', I typically say 'I want to do that too' and we have fun and love each other. And she does the same for me. If you find the right person for you, even if you find the right person and they're a Christian, they're not going to put you down because of your gender. They're going to want you to play your part in the relationship as they play theirs,. And as long as you both truly love each other, and you're the right one for each other, you can't go wrong.

I agree with you, you're right, but you're also not realizing that Jesus and his faith/beliefs were fundamentally way different than the Jewish faith. Yeah, he was Jewish, but he also established the Christian church in his lifetime, and would not be of the Jewish faith by modern standards
@chocpop.__: Before you read this, I hope you take no offense to this. I did not type this as a means of confrontation, just an explanation of how I view details of our religion's technical origins. The symbol of Christianity was not always a crucifix or cross, it was originally several things such as a fish, a dove, and a monogram of Christ's name. But that isn't particularly relevant. Jesus did start the Christian church, though he would not have called it that. As Christians, it is our goal to follow and obey the teachings of Christ, hence the name. So, by definition, those that followed him at the time, the disciples and many hundred that would gather for his sermons, would be Christians. This would be the simplest way to put it. His followers could not be classified as Jewish in faith (at least not when they followed him and through him committed miracles), as that would be against Jewish belief/doctrine. Unless you would consider the disciples and the other followers of Christ pre-resurrection a third, no longer viable religion that briefly existed before the death and crucifixion of Christ, they would have to be considered Christian. But when all of this is said, Christianity is such a wide net that it doesn't take in the many different beliefs and customs, and traditions found between denominations. If we have opposing beliefs, I say I don't mind as long as you have found Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, a man so merciful and wise that he would surely laugh at our petty and minute differences. May God bless you and have a wonderful night/evening/morning/day. It is much too late for me to continue on as it nears 3 am lol
I love when people believe Demon Worship and Satanism are the same thing. They are not. Satanism is about respect and excepting yourself, flaws and all. Demon worship is....demon worship. @@oops383 it’s not even solely the age of the book frankly, it’s also the fact it’s been put through so many translations of different languages before english and when it was translated in english and then when it was “retranslated”. king james in 1604 literally ordered a “retranslation” to fuck with shit and gain political power and that’s the most popular bible to date. like people don’t even realize the bible we have is so watered down and insincere. it really shows how christianity at it’s roots is skewed. of course not ever christian is awful, but looking at the core of the institution…the most popular bible isnt even the most genuine one…
@@oops383 you probably wouldn't know but it tells men the same thing and that men should love their wives just as much as they love their bodies and takes care of them
That two master's verse is actually referring to money. As in, you are supposed to be generous and avoid materialism. Nik using it in reference to marriage is just dishonest.
about the podcast, nickisnotgreen did a video on it which started a whole thing that ended in bignik quitting his own podcast lmao, it was really funny to see go down cuz it happened in a matter of days, it was beautiful
Hey just want to respectfully put here, Jesus hadn't died on the cross for our sins yet, so Christianity didn't quite exist yet. In Judaism they do not believe Jesus was the messiah and are still waiting for him to come down, as for Christianity they do believe that he was. Again just respectfully putting this here.
Jesus was a soft reboot of the Torahs teachings. Christianity is literally named after him and a bunch of Hebrews hated him because he was saying they were wrong about some things. That's why the Torah is included in the bible
Coming from a Christian, "BigNik" is utterly unhinged. He's literally the most hypocritical and contradicting "Christian" I've ever known about. What an embarrassment 😑I don't even wanna get started on his borderline sexism and misogyny.
@@jkyzey8297 Me not liking this man's personal biases, sexist morals, and his odd obsession with women doesn't mean I don't like the Bible :D But ok? 👍
@@zlis4536 No one is a perfect Christian, but neither is he. And that's obvious. It's pretty clear that he's too prideful, and he's a good example of what I like to call "ego conversion". Also, mind elaborating on what views you were referring to that are apparently in the Bible? I understand the modest dressing one. But that commandment goes both ways, love. And Nik certainly doesn't always meet the "dressing modestly" standard, let alone have room to be criticizing random women over it. Sorry, but there's no denying that he clearly has his own personal biases, and his laughable conspiracy theories also prove my point. "Don't point out the speck in someone else's eye before you've taken out the log lodged in your own." - Matthew 7:5
As a Christian can I Just say that this dude is maybe the worst representation of a Christian I’ve seen in a bit, Jesus literally says “those who are without sin may cast the first stone” basically saying u can judge only when you yourself haven’t sinned. Which is impossible cuz the only person to ever be without sin is literally Jesus
I have come to learn that this is the most overlooked and ignored part of the bible. People love to use scripture so that they can justify bitter judgment, when the same book says it is wrong.
@@Beethoven2949 well I guess it is true in a sense that we will never live up to Jesus's standards but we should also strive to be the best be can be not necessarily give up
Oh another thing- so the Bible doesn’t say you have to be married. Also when he’s talking about the submit to your husband, the way I see it is that God is telling us that we should be loyal to our spouse
thats exactly what He means. He literally gives both the husband and wife equal amount of jobs within the household and both are being faithful and being respectful and loving- both sides. it doesn't mean everyone, some people are happy being single. it also excludes the actual path God wants for each person. those are just the things needed within the marriage.
it's funny how men who want to go back to some retro pastiche of the 40s through the 60s that only ever existed in advertising think that they'd be getting homemade pot roast every night and not like, TV dinners or nightmares encased in jello
To all the Chrisitians in the comments going "this guy gives us a bad name 😭" definitely keep an eye out for this behavior in your circles & call it out if you're so appalled. I promise it's there.
god, right? "no TRUE scotsman i mean christian would say these things" well a true christian is saying them bud so don't you think that maybe there are a shitload of christians who believe this shit too?
Id like to. But my Parents don't listen to me. They both act this way and try to get me to be like that too. and if i disobey them/start any kind of argument/question their ways they'll send me back to christian boarding school.
Are you implying that Christians don’t call it out, or that people aren’t actually appalled by it, or the most Christians are like this? If you are good for you, making outrageous assumptions about people based off of one factor of who they are and then sticking to it no matter what people say👍 If not sorry for my misunderstanding and I agree, people should and do ccall it out. I’m not really sure what you mean by “call it out if you’re so appalled” though
@@Alan18012 Philosophical satanism isn’t a religion, and theological satanism pretty much only exists in conspiracy theories that are oddly anti semitic.
"Christians" like this are so funny the contradictions especially. Like how are you going to be homophobic and say men submit to God the same way a wife submits to her husband with a straight face.
@Clarice Clarke false many Christian’s are also lgbtq+ my Christian church is pro Lgbtq. Do y’all like to make up stuff. Religion keeps switching up who kws wtf to believe in now huh.
@@Alan18012 That guy is irrelevant to what I said. Either way it's not like the negative feedback he receives is unwarranted. He seems like one of those Christians that view people out of his religion as broken people that need Jesus juice to be saved from imaginary demons. His calm demeanor doesn't negate that he is disrespecting people to their face.
@Clarice Clarke except smoking won't get you sent to Hell according to the biblical translations you are likely using. Saying "We have nothing against gays, our God does, and we worship him with total devotion." Is literally saying "We have a problem with LGBTQ+ people." You are trying to abstract it, but that's not how it works if you understand how words work. You have a problem with gays because you follow a religious doctrine that has a problem with gays because you believe in the religious doctrine. This smells like you trying to rationalize your hatred as "out of my control". I.E. you are a disingenuous liar.
9:35 as a Christian, i’m always filled with so much rage when anyone mentions this verse without finishing it. i believe this is found in 1 corinthians, but the bible asks women to submit to their husbands in the same way that men submit to their wives. it goes both ways. my grandparents have the most Godly, healthy relationship, and it’s both because they’re firm believers and they would both do anything to make each other happy, the love that my grandpa has for my grandma after nearly sixty years is the most beautiful representation of love, but these men don’t understand that 🙄
Okay, so he's saying that women should serve their husbands like the husbands serve god, but then he says that people can't "serve 2 masters". So he wants a Christian wife, but she can only "serve" him... so she would not be Christian? Or how does that work?
If you read the verse , people can't serve 2 masters . Then it's actually talking about Christ and the World that we cannot serve Christ and the world , it's either Christ we serve or the world .
