Mr Wes... Look at it this way. You are living, rent free, in the minds of your 'critics'... I love knowing that there are people that think about me (albeit negatively) on a daily basis...

I'd say OLF runs equipment hard, but does NOT abuse it. Abusing equipment is a different thing altogether.

There is a difference between using and abuse Wes uses his equipment he is doing a lot of ground using tractors 10xs other farmers so his stuff will brake more and ware out faster so he is using not abusing it

For all those that say Wes abuses equipment you have no clue between worked to capacity and abuse. Wes's tractors/ equipment works for a living, yes he has the odd mishap or breakdowns. That can be any farm that does any serious amount of heavy work even with a whole fleet of new equipment. Abused is machines that are poorly serviced usually meaning it quit working and they had to change some filters or put oil in somewhere during the repair. It's used or driven rough like the operator stole it, doesn't have a straight panel / part or light left on it, probably has wire ,string or, tape holding something together. the motor or drive line is junk. The tires are all bald, the cab interior is wrecked. it's worth a 1/4 of it's true value for a nice one, or should be just plain scrapped if it's wrecked that bad. Anybody that pays attention will know Wes tries to keep his equipment in good condition and mechanically right even in busy times or it gets fixed right after an emergency repair. I get to fix some real abused equipment for guys that would be better scrapped. some of it is not that old and was real expensive. Some would make Wes's high hour 7410 loader tractor look like new parked side by side it's that bad.

OLF. Like you said previously, not many guys run the acres through a machine like you do. Just on volume alone any machine will show flaws earlier and wear out earlier on your farm. Keep knocking it down and baling it up!

Hey there OLF, i run a HW345 with a 16ft discbine and 30ft HoneyBee. i tried a 8060 with rear bags and couldnt stop droppin the swather cutter bar into the ground over hill tops when the weight comes off the rear axle and also at road speed when you crest a hill the steering goes mental, i agree that the machines through put is limited by the pump drives on the discbine but it can cut like a prairie samuri swathing canola. Harvest is about to get going here in western Manitoba so cheers for now.

commercial farming is hard on equipment becouse you run longer hrs and more ground. it has nothing to do with abuse i guess im like olf we run hard every day and put lots of hrs in and equipment breaks and wears out. olf does a good job of maintaining his fleet of iron and thats a job its self. keep on keepin on

Hi Wes I'm sad to hear all the problems you've had with Newholland. I'm a big Newholland fan I've got 4 Newholland tractors and a baler. One tractor with a loader as just done 24000 hours only thing it's really had wrong with it was a clutch pack at 18000 hours and a set of brakes. I'm on my second baler only done 21000 bales with no problems. last one did just over 70000 again no real problems. As for John Deere not going to call them they are good tractors but know better than anything else. The newer ones anyway!! Keep up the good work Wes. Even if it is with John Deere's 😂😂😂🚜🚜🚜🚜

Don't listen to anyone who's says you are so hard on you're equipment, they are probably all hobby or organic non-commercial farmers, any farmer that farms commercially or more than just on the weekends runs their equipment to its peak that is why they get the equipment they do, to farm their land the most efficient way they see fit.

Wes I went back and watched the wheel of misfortune as I have only been subscribed for a year or so. I definitely don't understand why they have the air bags at the rear trying to make the ride better because that alone is what is causing the machine to see saw. It also sounded in BTP video that the pumps or hyd motors are whining which leads to unexpected or premature failure. Some will never have a problem while others will have constant problems. I hope NH goes back to drawing board and gets it fixed. I grew up Massey tractors and NH hay equipment so I hate when they aren't good. Massey with AGCO had been in the ditch for years, but they finally got a good one starting a few years ago with the 56,66,76, and 8600 series. I think AGCO finally realized Massey was their best brand drop the other logos. At the sunbelt expo lasts year dad and I was looking at NH RB and the new pick up head Europe style looked like a HS machining class had put it together and then gave it a good coat of yellow. It may work fine but it doesn't look machined worth a darn. I hope NH gets there act together. Almost seems like NH has lost there way. They used to be the best quality built machine money could buy. Pequea oddly enough built in NH, PA is building there hay equipment much like what NH used to before they started buying cheaper over sees version and labeling them NH. Anyway I could go on and on. Question: why do you not like Sisu motors?

Well hello olf I personally have purchased a new Holland 316 pull type disc mower... I have been really impressed. With that being said i WOULD NOT at this point buy a new Holland self propelled A friend of mine and also another neighbor have had so many problems with their tractors on there new Holland self propelled it is not even funny. Drive ability being the main problem. And many other problems with the hydro system. One keep getting shut down from the def crap not working properly. People say your hard on stuff and maybe you are harder on stuff than some, but not all of us go out to nice smooth fields that could be golf courses. ITS YOUR DAMN STUFF to drive how you want. If it was your abuse that caused problems with the new Holland cutter and also the baler why has the jd and krone held up fine? Are they built that much better? Just a disclosure people say im hard on my stuff also...... but then again its my stuff. Im paying the repair bill and others can KISS MY ASS.

I was told by my new holland dealer to hang on to my late 90s early 2000s equipment, that the new stuff just wasn't as good, your also correct in about thickness of hay, many people talk about how many acres they do and not ton per acre, I was taught that you have to cover the same amount of ground wether the hay is heavy or thin, better if its heavy

Wes, I have enjoyed all of your videos. I'm a small producer in southern middle Tennessee. I wondered if you could speak to windrowers in general. Currently I run two 1431 New Holland discbines. They are good machines but I have put a lot of thought into swapping to the new Tc series krone conditioner. The price of the the machine though is not far away from a used windrower. What do I need to look for in choosing a windrower? Also I know a larger scale producer that does good work with with the New Holland H series rowers. He has H8060s. Are they more commercial or utility machines than the speed rower series? I know it's busy right now just interested in learning as much as possible.

What people fail to realize is you ain't rougher on your equipment it's the volume of hay your producing. Your baling 2 to 3 times the amount most people do in a year. A Hesston is a good machine it'd be cool to see one running with that deere

You're telling it like it is, Wes! Guys who say you're hard on stuff either don't run the equipment at all, or daddy fixes it without telling them. There is a mental block that so many people have when they get a big branded product and bashing other brands and anything other than what they have is what they resort to and the first thing they blame is the color of the machine.

Just let the haters hate wes... Can't cure stupid and they won't ever know what it's like to run the equipment you have. I too have mixed feelings with certain brands, but the last thing i'd do is call any individual farmer names because he gives his opinion and tells his experience. I notice that these things bother you, so i'm really hoping it won't cause interference with your vids. I have been enjoying them for years and i appreciate you and your opinions. The thing to keep in mind when criticising someone one elses view is that there are so many variables at play. Not only is every country, area and farm different but so are individual's workload for and also expectations of any machine. Ireland has been the main test bed for many European grass harvesting machinery companies for a number of years now. The reason is they used to have the most warranty claims and performance problems in Ireland, way above anything they encountered in mainland Europe or the UK. When they looked into why it basically came down to our climate, first cut silage here is heavier and often wetter than anywhere else that they sell their machines so now they test for our conditions and if it dosen't break here they are almost certain it will not give problems anywhere else. Different operations have different needs, one operator may be quite happy with a given width of machine working at 5 mph, anotner may expect 7 and another maybe 10. A machine that works on flat land may be impossible to use on hilly ground and vice versa. A machine that works fine in the field may be terrible in transport on the road so someone working on or close to home may love it, where as some roading for 2 hrs between jobs may hate it.

So Wes, I have a friend (in the UK) that works for CNH and tells me case machines are more reliable than the new Holland equivalent, with the same component??? How's that work I do not know but it's the honest truth!!!

Im with you Wes, I operate a H8080 and it cant operate in heavy hay. Lack of power, and the cleaning system is a poor design. I think people get great mowers and the some get Lemons like your 240.

if you watch the video of that 260, it did not want to back up that hill at the end and when he went forward it looks very uncontrolled. I was getting nervous for the operator.

I can attest about the newer New Holland tractors... they have gotten worse with every year with the same story. The engines from Ford, Cummins, and Fiat have been flawless, but it's everything else that has gradually cheapened up, even at the convenience level, which is why we went and got a MF a few years ago. It looks like those new JDs of yours are gonna treat ya real good for many years.
