I get the idea of locking your bike up in a visible area but it also makes it more visible for thieves to see. I think if people see someone stealing a bike, most will just mind their business and won’t say anything also.

It's definitely a tough balance. If someone locks their bike in a hidden area, there's a much lower chance of a burglar finding it. However, if they do find it, they can take their time stealing the bike.

I think you forgot to mention about security camera, lock the bike in a place where security camera can capture the footage. Also, hide an air tag somewhere hidden so that you may retrieve your bike in case if it gets stolen.

Definitely great points! Cameras add an extra layer of security, and having an AirTag hidden on your bike can be very helpful if it unfortunately gets stolen.
