In this video we complete the 76 mile Cathedral Valley Loop starting at a BLM campsite by the Fremont river. Another awesome route with stunning views.
The route is available on Bikepacking.com
bikepacking.com/routes/cathed...
Note that we bypassed about 3 miles of UT 24 by taking Cemetary road to Caineville road. Not sure why this was not included in the original route, we always prefer dirt over paved roads!

Thank you for the vid. I just did this ride in Sept. 23. There is no BLM campsite on Hardnet road south prior to crossing the Fremont river. This is private land with numerous no trespassing signs on either side of the road. A ranger on patrol warned me that the owner is adamant about having vehicles towed at considerable expense. Most riders park and camp off Cathedral Wash road on BLM land prior to its junction with highway 24 (this is where the ride ends on a clockwise loop). You don’t need to haul all your water from this start. Once crossing the Fremont river the spring is 8 miles further and according to the same ranger, runs year round. Hope this helps others enjoying this wonderful route.

I try to be as creative as I can with the film work in hopes of keeping it interesting, thanks for noticing. I tried using my phone this time to get all the off the bike shots instead of the Sony ZV-1. The whole zooming thing is not there yet with phones and will go back to using the Sony camera. Thought I could get away with saving some weight and space by not bringing the Sony camera, lol. Thanks for the nice comment and for watching, much appreciated. Ride on!

Cool desert video, D. Glad you both had a good trip out west here. Can’t ever have enough water when riding in the desert and those dirt roads in UT see a lot of Jeep and vehicle traffic, just in case one runs into trouble. Thanks for sharing, sir

amazing, but I want to hear the sound of the wheels rubbing against the gravel ☮️

Thanks for watching. I understand wanting to hear all of the riding sounds. I do try and mix that in with the music, so they both are there in the video. The music may overpower the natural sounds depending on the song, I will see if I can get a better mix in future videos. Thanks for the comment.

Was the campground full, or did you choose to camp elsewhere?

The Cathedral Valley campground was actually empty. We chose to ride further and find a wild camp spot in a small canyon to get out of the wind. Thanks for watching!
