Some 15 years later this track stands the test of time. It got me through the hardest break up ever probably saved my life. Thanks bilal. I felt like I wasn't the only one going through it back then.
This song saved my life after my mother died in Dec. 04....No hyperbole or bullsh!t. The "Love for Sale" record actually came along right when I needed it...It's a masterpiece.
I saw on VladTV where he stated that this album was in its raw form and was supposed to be mixed by Dilla before it got leaked. I can't imagine how great that would have been
i know this might sound corny but some of bilal's songs are more like an experience 2 me more so than just another song, truly an extraordinary artist. his sound and soulfulness is engulfing
Bilal's music is so unrecognized in this cookie cutter music industry. I guess that is exactly why his music is so fantastic, cause it's so genuine and exceptionally wonderful. I'm addicted to this song.
No matter how old this song gets it still hits me like a brand new gift, these lyrics, who says "I played the foil before, stared at the sun til it burned out my eyesight"reallt Bilal, that lyrics always hits me in my throat he is phenomenal one of my top favorite artist
Wow, I was listening to this album in remembrance of you and here I find you in the comments section. I’ll miss you, but will think of you through all the music we shared. Rest well, Queen ❤️🙏🏾
The depth of this brothers music, LIMITLESS! His "SOUL". His music. Stirrings, from a very unquiet space.... Bilal delivers pure and passionate originality. He is a master at speaking over the pleasures and pains of love...
*It's The MY BLACK Is BEAUTIFUL LOOK For ME:* Is anyone else seeing how GORGEOUS BILAL's SOUL is?? *In essence those lips - those smoldering eyes - those dreds. UNAPOLOGETIC*
my wife found this artist and has been listening to him alot recently and the more i'm listening the more i realize that this guy is on a totally different level than so many other artists. i can only name several artists who actual have such a deep feeling sound like he.
No time for regrets who lives to rehearse? Rehearse the times you were here Through other ladies I drove myself crazy Wondering why they weren't you You may think I'm a fool, but still- I did it all for us You know I did it all for love
A homeboy of mine blessed me with a Gilles Peterson podcast with this jawn some years ago and I nearly lost it at the first listen. So beautiful to find this jewel here! Bless up, @soulsleepers
I love Bilal! He inspires me to continue to sing!!! I love him! His voice reminds me of my father Dwayne Lewis Simon who passed away 2-24-2004, so when I hear Bilal's voice its like he is still here
first reaction, -"Damn, why can't I buy this?" second reaction, -"Money can't touch this" third reaction, -"Clever revenge!" To feel this is peace, to be able to listen to this makes it all worth living. The universe resonates with this, in time this will be known to the happy few as the right road to true happiness and freedom. Thank you for this, whatever we may call it. If we have to call it anything at all that is.
Bilal is so talented. The wild Autoharp strumming cracked me up because it made me remember the days back in 4th grade music class when our teacher was teaching us how to play them. Wished there were more artists like Bilal (including him) recognized on the radio. Its good driving music.
I heart this song. It's poetry to my ears. CLASSIC! Wish this CD could be purchased on iTunes. It's not easy finding good music. You know, music that is soulful and touches you deep down within.
How can such a classic artist be soooooooo underrated?......oh yeah.....because people don't want classic anymore.....they just want "hot"........let's keep the state of music in prayer.........
I love his music... It reminds me of the beauty, mother and child, such things. Baby smiles with it's soul, charms my own. I love it that much. Breath for a body which creates more then life, gives mine purpose... Just because. I love it that much. A sister who hugs her younger brother, just to help him cope with being on punishment, because she loves him, suffers just as much; I love it that much... That much, I love it!
Helped me thru a 2 year separation....and he still wants me. I just dont know if he deserves me. Love is individualistic. We give it, or receive it. We are love, regardless. Thankhs for this jewel Brother.
Wow. Thank you for posting. This is one my favorites by the soulful brother Bilal. This just popped in my head then I had to come running! I did it *all for love*. Thank you Bilal for gracing us ppl who love and appreciate stellar music. I've stared at the sun too.
No time for regrets, Who lives in rehearse, This is a true artist-skilled in writing lyrics and his vocals-Love Bilal, He is much better than the radio music, this is mama's mac n cheese, the radio is like kraft boxed mac n cheese
This man is a freaking genius …I’ve seen this 2x….he literally held the door open for me (I walked in behind him) as I entered Iridium in NYC…didn’t realize it was him until we got down the stairs and I almost passed out LOL
agreed, esply with the state of music today, he should be at the top of his game, he is anachronistic, should have been around when people appreciated real music not nw! xxxx
is it possible to be in love with someone you never met? (lol) OMG! his 'stuff' is off the chain!!! i'm a 'old school' girl & to me, his music is right at home along side Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, etc..!
