Bill Enters The TARDIS For The First Time | The Pilot | Doctor Who 

"You're safe in here and you always will be." Debatable at times.

I don't think that grin when he says "TARDIS" was acting. I'd bet Capaldi was really genuinely loving that he got to finally introduce a companion to the TARDIS.

Doctor: "You're safe in here and you always will be!" Bill: *trips on stairs and breaks her neck* Doctor: "...Right."

My god, Capaldi seems to relish the opportunity to show his first new companion into the TARDIS. That smile when he says "TARDIS, for short."

"You're safe in here. You're safe in here and you always will be." ...God, I love that line. It just feels so wholesome and protective. I'm gonna frame that quote and put it on my wall near the door.

"I know you're not really a sci-fi person"

What a beautifully shot scene and instantly shows the innocence of Bill's character! And that intro for the Tardis! Absolutely Fantastic!

"I know you're not really a sci-fi person-" Turns around to find a massive timeship behind her. Brilliant!

You know, after 2,5 seasons and 4 years without new companions it's weird to see someone surprised by TARDIS again. Like, weird in a good way, it happened a million times before but I weirdly missed it.

His little smile after Bill says, “it’s got windows!” is so, so precious. He’s SO excited to show her the TARDIS!

this feels like a really natural reaction and i'm so excited for this to air tomorrow.

I believe Capaldi was cast almost just to deliver "Time and Relative Dimension in Space....Tardis for short". That music, his delivery, that smile. I mean....it was pretty legendary IMO. I felt that he really grew into the roll over his 3 seasons, each exponentially better than the next.

I think that Peter Capaldi has always wanted to introduce a companion to the TARDIS.

This is easily my favorite TARDIS Interior reveal in all of modern Doctor Who. Along with the fact that it’s the first time that Twelve gets to enjoy revealing the TARDIS to a new companion, it’s just SO WELL DIRECTED. The way the camera pulls back from Bill into the dark interior of the TARDIS, with only the entry-way still lit, before the lights turn on to reveal the console room as the camera finally stops. Then as Bill turns and discovers the interior we get a new arrangement of Murray Gold’s “Madman with a Box” theme. No words, no comments about how it’s “bigger on the inside,” just close ups of Bill looking around in amazement. And that shot of Capaldi standing by the TARDIS console with the steam coming up from the floor beneath him? Pure magic. The only thing that could’ve made it even better would’ve been if it’d been an entirely new TARDIS Interior, but even with a familiar TARDIS console room it’s still just as magical and mesmerizing. While getting to enjoy Bill’s reaction alongside Twelve, we’re reminded once again of the magic and wonder of stepping into the TARDIS for the very first time. Kudos to director Lawrence Gough for really bringing that to this scene. Watching this scene never gets old.

Ok that was pretty awesome. Looks like Capaldi is testing the boundaries of his Doctor.

This is certainly one of the most wonderful reveals. By this point, the Doctor hasn’t been travelling for years. First he stayed with River on Darillium, then onwards to taking care of Missy for years in England; by that point, he was a settled man. You can see that happy enthusiasm to finally show off again, to play and have fun with a new friend, more exuberant in that moment than he was even as Eleven. A great little scene for an excellent pair.

Now THAT is Doctor Who.

The more I watch this the more sad it makes me that Peter Capaldi is leaving at the end of the series.

"I'll tell you what. Let's just pop, into my box." There is something about that sentence that makes it amazing lol

Kudos on lighting the Tardis progressively rather than all at once. The lights coming on a few at a time, quietly, made that an absolutely gorgeous shot.

This moment is peak Doctor Who, in my opinion. This is the perfect doctor & tardis, with a wonderful companion to ground it all. I truly wish we had more time with them, but I'm thankful we got here in the end.

This reaction was so unique and brought something new to Doctor Who. Bills reactions to her travels in the Tardis were very refreshing and not only added comedy and humour but also made her feel real. I talk about this more in one of my most recent videos.

Thank you, so much, for using that motif of Madman with a Box. Hearing these older themes and music being used again in new ways(and not being forgotten) is always a pleasure.
