And he’s getting paid alright! 2019 he was only worth around $3-$4 million dollars, he’s now got a net worth of well over $20 million dollars. Not bad going considering the whole world was locked down for over two years and when things did start to reopen he refused to work until he was fully vaccinated because of his autoimmune condition. And was the only person who wore a face mask to protect himself at any award shows he attended last year, while not one other single person did in a crowded room full of people inside a building. And he gained a lot more fans and respect from people who either wasn’t familiar with his work or wasn’t a fan of his. Even the news and media showed him massive amounts of respect. So over two of them years he didn’t film anything apart from two voiceover roles and one acting part over Zoom for some British show that he filmed in his own backyard. And just kept writing and rewriting the scripts for the last two seasons of “Barry” and episodes of “Documentary Now”new season and a horror movie. And the only interview he gave in person was for Conan’s penultimate (second to last ever episode incase people don’t know what “penultimate” means.) final ever talk show because Conan really wanted Bill to be apart of his late night show fair well season. All other interviews he did from his home over Zoom. So that’s not only a massive rise in what he earned especially during the pandemic, but money he deserves and rightly so. It would probably be higher if he had gone back to work when everyone else started to as soon as Studios and Networks gave the green light. But he put himself and his health first. And boy has he earned every single cent and has put out work that is so worth the money he’s made. Even though myself and a lot of other people believe that Bill and the rest of the cast and crew of “Barry” was robbed during last year’s awards season! Season three was a masterpiece and well worth the three years wait. How “Ted Lasso” won all the awards over “Barry” last year I will never understand! Not too mention that the Emmy committee knew “Barry” hadn’t won anything and was the only awards show Bill attended last year. They put him at risk because everyone had to walk right past him to get to the stage to collect their awards because they had sat him and the rest of the Barry cast and crew right in front of the stage and steps. Why? Did they want to rub it in his face that his friend and former coworker’s show (which had rushed that season filming it and you can tell by how poorly it’s edited and most of the dialogue makes no sense!) had won all the awards that Everyone involved with “Barry” was nominated for and had won previously and should have won last year? Both Bill and Anthony was robbed of best actor and best supporting actor awards. Anthony as Hank in the last few minutes of the season three finale when he had to try and save himself while having to listen to his friends get eaten by a panther, and then saving Cristobal from his wife. Was just an incredible performance by Anthony. And Bill had so many stand out scenes throughout season three, and the editing again was incredible, especially the freeway bike chase scene. Hearing all the different music, radio stations and actual conversations as they were riding past each car was genius and again a masterpiece of a scene that Bill edited himself. His breakdown when Albert finds him cleaning up Sally’s mess, that Bill actually gave himself an actual panic attack and is what we see onscreen. The whole beach scene after what Chris’s wife does to Barry and we see most of his v!ct!m$. That transition of him walking down the middle of the road and all of a sudden it turns into the sea and beach without the scene cutting away and just looks like the tide is coming in, is absolutely flawless and a masterclass in what perfect, seamless editing is. In my opinion “Ted Lasso” is overrated and not very good if I’m being honest! I watched it also and there’s so many plot holes that still wasn’t dealt with during the final episode never mind final season. At least Bill and everyone else makes sure that everything matches up with each take so nothing is different and everything is fully explained and resolved by the time the final episode of the final season comes to a close. I don’t know if you can tell but I’m really happy Bill and everyone else involved with “Barry” got robbed blind during last year’s awards season, like seriously I’m really, really pleased they didn’t get the recognition they deserved!
