I don’t even listen to Billie Eilish like that but her voice really suits this type of feel. It’s somber and soft and delicate and gloomy.. I think it’s a good combo.
@@username4263 She IS inspiring! She inspires SOOO many people. Also, if you think her voice is boring, then don’t search for this and click on the video, just to dislike it, and leave a comment like that.
@@username4263 art is subjective, just the same with vocal art. There’s no one way to be a good singer, she doesn’t have to sound inspired or not mumble to be classified as a good singer or for this to be classified as a good cover.
0:22 I LOVE the way she says “in” in the in the wind part. She sounds SO cool when she does that with her voice. She does it other times too in this cover and in her songs too. It’s like breathy and kinda stuck but sounds like more than one voice and I love iiiittttt
I don’t listen to Billie Eilish like that but when I heard she was covering this song from my FAVORITE MOVIE EVER I internally screamed ! This suits her so fucking much 😫❤️.
@@brooklynb8062 It’s your opinion. Opinions can’t be true or false. No need to call them a basic bitch. Be nice to people. Don’t call them names just cuz they like Billie.
This song suits her voice a lot. I personally believe this is a pretty hard song to sing, it’s quite high up all the way through so it’s probably easier for sopranos haha
Who would have thought she could sing mezzo-soprano? She has a 2-octave range. Her voice is perfect for that character. Her spatial sound fits it perfectly... So good!
I sense there's something in the wind That feels like tragedy's at hand And though I'd like to stand by him Can't shake this feeling that I have The worst is just around the bend And does he notice my feelings for him And will he see how much he means to me I think it's not to be What will become of my dear friend Where will his actions lead us then Although I'd like to join the crowd In their enthusiastic cloud Try as I may, it doesn't last And will we ever end up together No, I think not, it's never to become For I am not the one
I STILL can’t believe I saw her live! I went on the first night, and watching her sing that song was a religious experience. She was literally so perfect.
I think they're both great because they're both going for two different things. Cathrine O'hara is not a professionally trained singer, she has a lot of cracks in her voice, but that works perfectly for the context of the movie. It's an intimate, sad, scene with a shy, lonely character. Sally doesn't sound like a well practiced singer like the rest of the bombastic characters of the film, but the cracks in her voice fits with her character and give the scene an air of sincerity. Here Billy IS a professional singer, in the context of a live concert and she sounds like one. I appreciate that both versions exist in the context that they do.
@yaboytroy357 no implication intended. I'm from LA, and she reminded me of all my friends who were talented, striving for fame, and just didn't make it. She's the antithesis of a "plant." IMHO
theres something about Billie's voice that goes so well with this song and even tho im not listening to it live i can feel a presence that gives me goosebumps and some kind of emotional i cant explain
I'm so proud of her growth as an artist and as a person. Her confidence had grown so much in this past years and she's just getting better... Good job Billie. I remember when I was 13 and saw your ocean eyes video, in the same year it was posted. I started hearing your songs and seeing your bad and good times. So proud of you
Most of her music is so different than this. This side of her voice is just pure traditional singing its so beautiful. I knew she sang well but never heard this side of her before.
@@lw4611 she’s been taking acting lessons but never wanted to take it seriously like in actual films but her whole family acts in short films and her mother does movies
One of the best cover versions ever sung. Good job Billie and she should definitely be live action Sally in a live action Nightmare Before Christmas if possible
billie nailed it-- she gives me the whole tim burton vibe, and seeing her sing as one of my favorite characters from the burton universe, makes me so happy!
I missed this 2 years ago A lot of people say Sally’s song is the weakest slowing things to a crawl But it’s still a soft melody I like Billie’s take on this
Being there in person was pretty cool. I was not too sure if Eilish would do the song justice but I was pleasantly surprised. I still love that Danny is keeping with tradition and playing Deadmans party. Does not beat the Hollywood bowl for one reason. It began to rain just as he sang dead man's party. It was awsome!.
I knew she was gonna nail this song, once I heard she was gonna sing for Sally, I knew she was gonna rock this. Shes such a perfect singer for this part
Soo beautiful!! You know if someone makes a cover of a song and you feel it's better than the original, it directly means that she's the best!! I love you Billie so so much!! . . . . Wait what!! Thanks for so many likes guys!! And you know what this song by 💚Billie💚 was something I never knew I needed!!
I love Billie, you should also try listening to Amy Lee's cover of Sally's Song, the director said it was one of his favorites. She also sang the song while playing Piano ...and a Harp.
@@lazaruxdeluz1673 but Amy did a revised cover…. It wasn’t the original song 🤷🏻♀️ Billie instead interpreted it as the real song and it was even better of the real singer: Catherine o'hara in the movie.
Amy was technically "better", but didn't capture the emotion and character of Sally at all. It just felt like Amy Lee. This felt a lot more like Sally.
@@ericmork630 I agree completely. I LOVE Amy Lee’s voice, and she’s an incredible musician overall, but it was clearly her covering a song. Billie’s voice overall is more similar to Sally’s, and for obvious reasons, she sang it more as if she was trying to BE Sally. And another thing we have to remember, the original recording from the movie is definitely not technically perfect. I feel like that was an intentional decision by Elfman, to kind of humanize sally more if that makes sense? Like giving her a nice voice, but not making her sound like a Disney princess. And I feel like Billie embodied that very well. She really did a great job!
I was there!! I don’t think I’ve ever sobbed as hard as I did the second she started singing. My mom and I have always adored the nightmare before christmas and we bought these tickets way far in advance before it was announced she would be the guest appearance. Her performance was absolutely amazing. I wish I could be there again. :’)
Oh my god.. i know a lot of people are huge NBC fans.. as am I, constantly listening and watching, background noise and a good watch.. I don’t think there could have been a better fit. Astonishing i want to hear all of it
In my opinion 40 years old music teacher even better because Catherine didn't sing much, she had to vocally tweak her voice to create the character of the movie.. Billie is singing a swing with high and low note , chest voice and head voice.. she sang GREAT.. Much better than the original so beautiful angelic and clear voice. So musical broadway style.
People are so ignorant and old dead soul … and im sorry for them bc they are missing a historic moment.. this girl is special .. these siblings are special 🔥
