A 2016 surveillance video obtained by CNN shows Sean "Diddy" Combs violently grab, shove, drag and kick his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura during an altercation in a hotel in California. Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, alleged in a federal lawsuit in November 2023 that Combs raped and physically abused her, including punching, beating, kicking and stomping her over the course of their relationship. You know what stood out the most to me... The moment he threw her to the floor, she didn't move a muscle while laying there, almost playing dead as if bracing herself for a beat down. The hotel may have never even looked at the footage. Diddy might have just paid for the nights footage saying he wanted it for privacy because he's a celebrity yada yada. The hotel probably knows it would be a crime to obstruct justice or tamper with what might be evidence.

No, Nate, I think you hit it right on the nose. Usually people don't just wake up one morning and become a raving lunatic like that. And drug/alcohol seeking behavior is often a symptom of a larger problem in someone's mind--inability to deal with reality, blaming others for the outcomes of our own actions, etc. Drugs/alcohol simply lower the inhibitions that stop us from acting out on those behaviors--the motivators are there all the time. So I also don't think the apology was sincere--he's upset he got caught, not that he abused this woman.

Well said. He has NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) and most NPD’s have addiction issues because it’s hard to live THIS angry ALL the time. My dad has NPD and completely destroyed all of his kids. We all have addiction issues (I’m in recovery) and a plethora of mental health problems aside from that.

My first thought too. However, in neither NY or CA did they extend the SOL for criminal accusations. They extended them for civil matters. That's really dangerous because at least in criminal matters there is a high burden of proof while in civil matters it is a low burden.
