I can't believe he was 35 years old in this interview.....he looks so much younger. I'm so glad I had the privilege of growing up in the 80's and 90's and having access to such awesome musical artists during those 2 decades. The music they play NOWADAYS will NEVER COMPARE to the music I got to grow up listening 😊
Saw Billy Idol this year for the first time. Brilliant at 63. Made me look back on his carrier. Wow. This dude has always been a gem. Intelligent, good looking, talented. He got the full package. His autobiography is so full of genuine love for music. And that tells it all to me.
Dunno bout that when you mention vocal talent and I,m talking nowadays.. Recently watched a Gen Sex gig from 2018 and sorry to say but vocally it was really really dire weak flat I could go on and on but..... .....
Never would've thought back in the 80s that Billy Idol would have the staying power - but here we are in 2023 and he's still performing, still sounding good. And still has drive and passion for it. He's become a genuine icon of our generation...and his songs are timeless.
I never understood why the British press turned on Billy Idol. No wonder he emigrated to the USA. I think Billy's highly intelligent and a brilliant writer. He's still rocking at 66!

J MJ - Yeah, that is a good comparison, he's like a cross between Prince and Elvis. Those faces he makes is similar to the faces that Prince makes, the same kind of swag!

I just saw him this past Saturday March 16 , 2019 at the Ace theather in Los Angeles playing with Steve Stevens and they were Awesome , Billy sounded incredible share some good stories , Magical night ...BILLY IDOL FOREVER❤❤❤❤❤
He's still around... doing his thing & you've got to give him credit the guy wasn't just a one hit wonder & gone he really did do some memorable songs that are still great to listen to after all these years... I used to listen to him & his first band Generation X...
...in other words, Billy IS Billy, he is WHO he is, and not not some fabricated...iPod ready...rock star. He's very actually a very positive, real down to earth, but also a bad ass!

I love Billy Idol, he is one cool rocker. The older he gets, the better he looks, he ages well. I have his CD's and i still listen to them. His music never gets old either. When i have his music blaring in my car. Rebel Yell..it seems to release all the stress in me.
Arsenio Hall is horrible interviewing someone like Billy - he doesn't at all catch all the gems Billy throws out right in front of him. If you listen to the things Billy says, I mean, this could have been totally different much more in depth and personal - it seemed Billy wanted to go there, but noooo, let's talk about your wardrobe - he seems so uncomfortable, and Billy's just sitting there like 'yeah......, I'm cool in my own skin'

I've watched other Arsenio's interviews and he is usually a very loose and funny guy. He seems a bit held back in this one, I wonder why. On the other hand Bill looks very relaxed and natural! I liked the bit at 5:13, really broke the tension there xD
Arsenio's such a dork. Such a choppy interview. Like Arsenio was really going to show up at a Billy Idol concert. I saw him at The Beale Street Music Festival a few years ago. He was really great even though he was close to fifty. He looked like he had a buffed twenty something year old body. What a rock star.
I was crushed between 2 cars with both legs having a compound level IV injury. I was scheduled for amputation and a trauma Dr. came in and saved my legs by giving me a muscle graft from my back, vein graft, arterial graft, skin grafts and bone grafts from my pelvis. My lung collapsed and I had to have my achilles tendon cut in half to lengthen it. The driver took off and she was caught a month later from reward posters. It took me over 2 years to be able to walk again.

Billy has always been a Rockin Pimp! Talent, Style, Humor, and Class. Loads of all but not especially in that order. I saw this live when i was in High school. Miss the Arsenio Hall show... Was one of the best late night shows ever. Better than Leno, Conan, Craig and absolutely, no disputing, better than Letterman's gap-toothed ass.
I remember being a kid, & not being into blonde boys. And when Billy came on MTV, his videos creeped me out. Now here I am, 45 years old and thinking how gorgeous he really was. Man...we sure grow up & change our minds, don’t we? Especially us women. 😂 I wasn’t a very smart kid back then. 😂😂😂
Billy was on Jimmy Kimmel last week with a new great song called Bitter Taste. He really looked good (like 6pk cut) and sang amazingly great. He still has a lot of power with singing.
Exact reason I watch everything from the 80s and 90s of him constantly. Last time he looked remotely this good was in some pics from 2005 and then it went downhill.
People love speaking of the way kids dress now, which frankly they look like clowns. But put it up side by side with young people of the 70's through to the 90's, look just as ridiculous. lol Just let people do what the hell they want to do.
watched an interview from 1985 and he didn't yet have that smexy hoarsekinda voice when he speaks but he has it in this one and damnit! do i love that voice :3
Yes his voice during the 80s was more smooth without the rasp. End 80s and early 90s it got all sexy raspy. Sadly after 2000 it went to hell and got all croaky.
