Billy Joel, a humble, hard working blue collar New Yorker who just happens to be blessed with immense talent. He's always seemed to be surprised by his success. I remember, back during his peak, and he was HUGE then, being asked by a reporter what it's like to be a superstar. He replied something like this "A superstar? I'm not a superstar. I'm just a musician. I can write songs. I can play piano. I can sing. What I am is competent at my job". How do you not love a guy like that?
This is why I like your channel. A real person having real and honest reactions to songs I'm familiar with, causing me to look at them differently. Keep being you, and no apologies necessary.
Another Beautiful reaction from a person with a beautiful soft heart to a song written from the heart by a sensational songwriter. Billy Joel wrote with such insights into any topic that he chose to write about, but his lovesongs are extra special.
This is the right way to do a love song. I met my wife when I was 16. That was 1977. This is our song. 44 years later still going strong. Thanks for the reaction.
You are such a sweetheart--the man in your life, whoever he may be, damned well better know just how lucky he is! Your reactions are pure joy to watch!
He's actually playing it faster than the recorded version. God I miss 1977-78. Billy Joel was well rooted in classical and jazz music, and applied those abilities into pop and rock. Well thought out compositions and lyrics and themes. Rather than just songs and repetitious garbage. The use of saxophone on his records gives it that New York City American sounding feel. And one great recognizable voice. Billy Joel has class. Just the Way you Are by Billy Joel Won 2 Grammys record of the year and song of the year for 1978, award in 1979. For this song to have this affect on you some 43-44 year later speaks for itself and for Billy Joel.
Reminder of the times I did karaoke and once in a while I did some Billy Joel songs. Amazing. Memories. I like the Lyrics too. Not just a softy. Glad I'm not the only one
This song.... early years and expanding horizons...a talented thoughtful but naive man achieves well beyond what anyone expected, gets the girl, but with time and experience becomes disillusioned and unhealthy, and finds himself alone. Understandable. The shifting sands of our lives and best life.
Oh girl you need a box of tissues next to you❤ I'm the same way I cry because it's so beautiful!!!! Just be yourself and I can guarantee you will find that person that will love you Just the Way You Are❤
DayOne, You WILL find that one person for you. They should be lining up and fighting for a place in line. You are fine and smart. Do not worry. I've been married to the right woman for 37 years. I hope you have better luck. Set a record!
The first time I heard this song was during an episode filled with heartache on James At 16 starring Lance Kerwin in 1977. Absolutely loved this song ever since. You're so adorable, girl. Keep up the great work!
That sly 'ol Billy could sure write a smooth love song. You want to keep this one handy for putting on while you mix the drinks and she makes herself comfortable.
You are quickly becoming a historian of pop music. We, the boomers, will count on you to propagate love and admiration for some of the best pop music ever heard. Thanks!
I generally go completely bonkers when reactors pause the video, but YOU can pause as much as you wish. I just love how that little smile creeps across your face when you hear the lyrics, the look on your face as you take in the lyrics and the artists voice, and how you have to take a moment to collect yourself and then you let go this heart felt comment that just hits different. You react to these songs with your whole heart and it is so beautiful to see it. Pause as much as you wish, because I can't wait to hear what you're going to say. It brings a smile to my face every time. Your reaction to The Carpenters made me tear up.. the most beautiful reactions I've ever seen.. and the one to Roxanne made me fall off my chair laughing so hard. Thank you for your channel and your amazing heart. So glad I found it.
Love your reaction to this as it was my song to my beautiful wife, sadly she has left for heaven now , love her still always will . Couldn't ask for more from 41 years together. Thanks for your insight.
This one brings back a memory of a complicated time in my marriage. When I hear this it reminds me of how close my marriage almost ended. Still married now 44 years. But it was a close call back in the late 1990's.
The word love has been so misinterpreted so much that we 4get what it means, Billy Joel this song I think I was about 5 but it was always on am radio in my mums car going down the coast surfing every weekend, yea I’m old 😂 but good music never dies ❤ thank you 🙏🏼🇦🇺
