The R1 FPort is another new Drone Receiver released by Jumper. This Receiver is very similar to the R1+ receiver, however, this one is already flashed and setup for F-Port unlike some other brands which requires lots of flashing - which we all know can go horribly wrong. But no worries, the Jumper R1F is ready to go with the F-Port firmware.
Why F-Port --- F-Port squeezes all the command and control signals into 1 wire, but most importantly, it saves a UART port. This savings is really a awesome feature on smaller flight stacks where there are not many spare UART ports.

SBUS may not work for full telemetry. My setup is Mamba F4 30x30 ver1 with newer R-XSR running FPort. I tried running the signal (from the non-inverted solider pad on the reciever) to the SBUS pad on the FC and could only get RSSI and receiver voltage. Then moved the signal to the Uart (TX1) on the FC and adjusted the serialrx_halfduplex and serialrx_inverted setting and all telemetry works.

I had the same experience with F-port on SBUS. Can you please verify that the FC does send telemetry TO the receiver also? Video only shows receiver sending RSSI to FC.

Hi Gents, Love your videos. It’s obvious you both have a lot of fun making them, and it shows! Keep up the great job! I also would love to purchase from your shop, but the shipping cost to Canada are just too much for even the littlest thing like the this new receiver. It would be nice if you offer an alternative shipping method for Canadians. Anything that you can do would be appreciated. Hello! Thanks for all the great videos. I am trying to bind to my ACCST D16 X9D with the R1F but instead of a blinking Red light after binding I get a blinking green. When I power cycle, the bind is unsuccessful. any advice? thank you once again

I connect a jumper r1f in the iflight f7 fc in the T2, 5v and ground. The receiver connects to transmitter put not respond any movements. Urart in the 2 position rx serial, i put all the configuration following the iflight diagram and still not respond. Did you know what is the problem? Thanks

Hey there guys. The video is really nice and it got me thinking about changing the reciever on one of quads to this particular one :) I've also noticed that when you powered up the battery there was no startup beep on the FC. On my mamba f405 and succex-e f4, when i plug in the battery, FC does this beeping music on startup. Is that a feature you can turn off? I tried to find any info on that, but without any results. Thumbs up!

Great tutorial! I know Frsky has alwasy been blinking red when not connected, fast blinking red in bind mode, once bound, solid green, no red. Just like in this video. My R1 was exactly opposite, blinking green, then solid red once it was bound, and I've seen a couple videos the same, yet seen a few the regular way. Is it just hit n miss off the line? LOL, still workds fine, just weird.

I have an R1 receiver and a mamba F405 stack (not mini) but I can’t find any instructions on the ‘net or RU-vid how to connect smart port and SBUS. The instructions that came with the stack don’t make much sense to a beginner. Have you guys already made a video showing how to solder it up?

He upgraded my taranis x9 lite to Access 2.1 protocol and now I can't bind the Jumper R1 + receiver, I can't upgrade the receiver to 2.1 either. I have tried different firmwares of the xsr receiver and it does not work. Because I understand that for the receiver to bind, the radio and the receiver must have the same firmware version, right? Thank you

Do you have a video to set up telemetry with this receiver. I've tried the r1 and r1f and no telemetry. I'm connected to the sbus tab on my r4 flight controller it's a 450 I think in an eachine tyro 129 no uarts will give me control. Transmitter Seems to work whether inverted or not. The only sensor my receiver will display is battery power which is usualy 0.0. Been on this for weeks watched lots of videos but giving up now. Do I have to do the hack and remove the 2 ic's etc Hopefully you have an answer. I'm using inav Thanks

Wao u guys have everything or almost everything cool so I got the jumper R1 receiver that's the same one right or is 1f is a different one. Ok I see it's a different one R1-F. I have a question for who ever knows it do we need to update the firmware on the receiver and if if we have to with what company with jumper web side or what?. Thank u.

If I understand correctly, FPort has limited usefulness on F4 boards as most don't have bi-directional SBUS ports. This means you won't have telemetry communication with the FC (no lua scripts), only what the receiver is measuring (RSSI & receiver voltage).

solder a wire to the middle pin of the inverter on the other side of the board, connect to a TX port on you F4, set serialrx_provider = FPORT set serialrx_halfduplex = ON set serialrx_inverted = OFF Or you can connect the normal Fport output to a TELEmetry connection on your F4 if it has one.

Hello , Using this receiver , I am able to get RSSI , GPS coordinates, battery voltage ..... in jumper t16, But no battery % / battery remaining. Using Jumper T16 and Matek f720 wing FC. (In the INAV correct battery % / battery remaining is displayed but not on jumper t16) Any suggestions??

F-port goes to a bidirectional Tx pin NOT SBUS Rx. You will only get rssi on sbus input.

configuration tab, receiver, select serial in receiver mode, and Frsky Fport in the box below. If it isn't there, you will need to upgrade your FC firmware.

UART is the abbreviation of Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter, the name of the chip that enables the computer to communicate via a serial line

Well I guess you guys don't keep tabs on the comment section of your videos, there's a lot of good questions people have asked and I couldn't find a single response from anyone from your shop. I was gonna tell you that in the video at the 11:27 mark, it says serialrx halfduplex off and serialrx inverted on, then in the description just above it says they should both be on. Wondering which one it is, but I guess you won't see it.

Do we need to calibrate anything or is that F Port RSSI value I am getting accurate? Does It not send flight pack voltage? I can't seem to get Lua script to work with this F Port. I'm getting RSSI but not VBAT. Lua shows nothing. Thanks

Are you by chance getting a lower rssi signal? I am getting a signal at least 25% weaker than an xm+. I have flown both back to back. So I am wondering the same question in regards to rssi calibration.

@@mkunakoff It does seem a little off. It's close. Still no VBat and I have telemetry on. It seems we don't get full telemetry with this F Port receiver. I get only signal telemetry (RSSI and signal related sensors). NO VBAT. Bummer

For the life of me, I can not get this to work. I have the red and green lights solid on the R1F, then I press bind on the T16, it chirps 3 times and then nothing happens at all. Tried all combinations of the FrSky protocol, but nothing. Super frustrating.

I just installed on of these R1F receivers on an Iflight Succex whoop board using the SBUS pad. The controls work and I get RSSI back to my transmitter but no other telemetry data. Is it true that F4 boards don't have the ability to communicate other telemetry data like battery voltage back to the receiver and then on to the transmitter?

Same here, very strange it works on sbus pad. My other fport rx works on a uart tx and give full telemetry. This one on sbus pad don't give full telemetry, very disappointed, or I do something wrong?

@@MrJT270567 It is only working in SBUS mode connected to SBUS with SBUS protocol selected. Fport has to be selected, with a serial RX in Ports. try the un inverted signal from the inverter on the other side of the board to a tx port.

I have telemetry fully functional on a F4 FC Enable softserial Connect rx FPort to softserial tx (not SBUS) NOTE: connecting to SBUS will only provide rx functionality (no telemetry) set serialrx_inverted = ON set serialrx_halfduplex = ON set telemetry_inverted = OFF set telemetry_halfduplex = ON (BF or iNav 2.5) set telemetry_uart_unidir = ON (iNav 2.4)
