Thanks for the video. Just one correction: The needle controls the fuel flow through the needle jet, not the main jet. The needle and needle jet come into play at midrange throttle. The main jet controls the upper third or so of the throttle. Besides raising or lowering the needle, you can also change the size of the needle jet to tune midrange.

Great Great Video! very through great info ty!! got a Question. If my craft (618rotax engine with bing 54 on it) is going to be store for 6 months, I Live down in the east coast of canada, would you recommend removing carbs and blow drying them out internally with low compressed air as for for storage or would you recommend not to do this, and just leave as is ,with gas in the carb bowls with an addition of stabalizer additive for 6 months would be fine/? ty for your info in advance,

@lndc1 it can be done on the skyranger 582 but its been -30C in Winnipeg and it only takes 5min to pull them off and work in my heated shop. Where do you fly?

Hello, could someone please tell me the purpose of the hose running from one side to the other? I have an old Rotax 503 engine and fuel flows out from those nipples on either side when it's running. Is this normal and the hose must be there? Thank you to anyone who can help!

That hose is a vent to remove air from the float bowl and fuel enters. You should not have fuel running through it. It's venting air only. Sorry for the late reply!

@@skyrangerswift2ireland Hi. No worries. All the small O-rings inside the carb were completely rotten. We had the carb rebuilt all new rubber bits, floats, hoses etc and now it runs perfect, no leaks.
