Hi, do you add something for the plants? Or do you have a Co2 addition? I'm starting my own BiOrb Classic 60 ( yours is newer i see) and i want to get a beautiful setup. And how are the fish? Is the sphere not to small? Anyways... Your BiOrb is a beauty to look at. Thumbs up
+Mons Thor: Thanks for watching. You may need CO2 injection or not depending on the types of plants you put in there. If you have only moss and Java, you dont need to inject CO2, just need a good light and add Seachem excel everyday or every other day. The LED light comes with an Orb is not bright enough for the plants. I bought an extra 7000K - 8000K LED light bulb from amazon to put on the top of it. If you put CO2 required plants such as hair grass you need CO2 injection. I inject CO2 into my inflow of external canister filter. With my brighter LED light, external canister filter, and CO2 injection, all my plants grow very healthy. My hair grass carpet is fully developed in 3 months. All my fishes are healthy, and i only need to do water change every 7 -10 days. Oh if you live in US. Go to petco or petsmart to buy driftwood and neon tetra. They are less expensive than the local fish store. Sometimes, i have neon tetra for 1$ each.
Would you post a picture of how your extra light is seated in the lid, and a link to what you bought? Same question for the CO2 ingector... It sounds like the CO2 mixes with the flexible tubing air somehow before entering the biorb? Can you like to the device you use for that? Such a beautiful scape!
What do you use for your substrate/soil and for the top dressing? And how do you avoid clogging the bottom filer with so many fine particles/sand/plant bits? Awesome tank, I just got one and am planning to do the same but everyone says you can’t plant live in a bio orb :/
Overall, would you recommend a Biorb? I want to get my first Betta fish and love the idea of a spherical tank. Been trying to find a 16/18 inch glass bowl but having no luck finding something that is actually worth the money
+sarahannieb Thank for watching a video. The biorb is kind of cool fish tank. But i have a leaking issue with the tank i have. When i turn off the filter air pump, the water leaks at the bottom. I already got whole thing set up and planted so i dont wanna return it, and just keep my pump running. For your Betta fish tank, i recommend this from PetSmart: Top Fin® 5 Gallon Glass Aquarium. It has everything you need, good light even for easy fresh water plants, filter, .... And it is only 40$.
Thank you for the response! After reading around I've been told that the filters on biorbs can be a bit troublesome. So in my case it'll probably be best if i get a kit with a filter that would be less prone to give me any issues. Biorbs seem to be pretty expensive. I like the tank you recommended me. Thanks!
Looks like very good, but how can you clear the filter if it so full of plants? Nowdays i want to buy a 30liters version for 160 euro"s,just im not sure about the cleaner filter is good or not...
+Williams Marquess Thanks for watching. I have the canister filter and run inflow/outflow hoses into the tank. I only need to clean that external filter. I dont clean the filter that comes with the tank. I run it for air bubbles.
+Boosted Nation I just tore down the tank because of the water leaking through the air line at the bottom. When i put it back, i will have another video to show how i run the filter in/out flow hoses to the tank.
HI Tri Le, Your biorb looks amazing. I have been searching around to find a way to sucessfully plant the tank with the groundcover plants. Do you have a soil bottom? if so, is it working becuause you added a filter? Does the filter sit outside the tank and only the hoses go into the tank? thanks.
hi have very large tanks too but was given an old biorb 60 not cruel at all replace filtration use correct sub straight add real plants use it for fancy goldfish fry to be put outdoors in summer
