Eurasian wren is just a little rascal but the male's voice is among the strongest bird voices in the forest. Unlike other birds the Eurasian wren sings even in winter out of sheer happiness. When threatened by another male in the breeding season, the bird spreads its wings to appear bigger and defend its territory.

Hard to say which one you mean - probably the most distinctive voices are from the Eurasian blackcap and common blackbird 🙂

I am very inspired by your films! Some of the best on RU-vid. I would like to ask you a question about how you get such smooth camera movements. As far as I know, if you start movement in the frame at 600mm on a normal video head, it will not be smooth and shaky at all. So how do you achieve this? How do you stabilize it?

Thank you for your kind words! Actually it is not 600mm, it is 1200mm because I film with a M43 sensor which doubles the focal length. To achieve smooth camera movement is quite hard and I struggle with it all the time. I use Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 head which is not really enough for such long lens, so I have to switch on the optical stabilisation on my Sigma 150-600. Without it the footage would be just one big shake. I even have to use additional stabiliser in Davinci Resolve sometimes. Unfortunately I don't have the resources or support team to film with e.g. an O'Connor head :-)

@ Thanks for the detailed answer! Only it sounds a little strange for me because if I put Sigma on a stable surface and turn on the stabilizer, the frame starts jumping up and down…

@@user-ur9ix3fe9y Depends on which Sigma you are using. My Sigma 150-600 Contemporary has a mild stabilization that allows me to use it while shooting dynamic shots (not static ones, then the picture is floating from side to side). However, I tried out the Sigma 60-600 once, and it was completely unusable. The stabilization is too strong and the picture is jumping, just like you said.

@ Thanks! My is Sigma 150-600 C! So, I’ll try a tripod with fluid head and IS.
