lol, I love how this guy blew through all the car's details in less than 10 minutes, super stoked, clear, animated, and concise the whole time--that's true passion.
Jay - What can you tell me about this windshield? - The sand used to create this windshield was selectively chosen at the highest temperature of the summer in the Egyptian Desert to obtain the best sand grains of the world .
Bisimoto is the type of person you WANT to come into your country. A dreamer and a technician who can implement ideas rationally. Who knows that this guy could develop that revolutionizes cars in the future through his tinkering? This all sounds like Fast & the Furious/illegal street racing BS but this is how new breakthroughs get developed sometimes. The American car companies sure aren't innovating that much lately or making sound business decisions. I can't tell you the last time ANY member of my family bought a car design from an American auto company. Our experiences with the lack of reliability in the last few American cars we owned (excepting a GM/Jeep in the late 1980s/early 1990s) discouraged members of my family from buying American I hate to say. I have a sister who had a Ford Escort and she grew to hate that car...
Jay: Why leave the drum brakes in the rear? Bisi: Oh, I wanted this build to be stock. Y'know, this 4wd converted ~800hp Civic with a 76mm turbo. Totally stock. Gotta love Bisi.
homerunman I know a few guys have drums. With this little cars weight is a major thing. It’s a new trend they are doing. Upgrading the front and leaving the rears just upgrading the internals on it
It's fairly hard to find discs for EF Civics, you have to do a CRX brake swap and that's if you're lucky enough to find a CRX with discs that haven't been taken yet
@@_Everyone__ yeah, Bisi did say what it originally came with pretty much right off the bat as soon as he started explaining the car (1.5L), Jay is getting worse constantly asking the same question multiple times, and getting the same answer (usually), I guess when Jay asked Bisi misunderstood.
There is a cultural difference, @@ArtVandelayOfficial , as well as passion. You may enjoy life more if you stop putting forth such an effort to be offended.
This isn't money. This guy outs seriously long hours just into research. You can hear it when he explains why he uses certain parts, lubricants. It's all for a reason. Function first, form second. I get excited every single time I see Bishimoto in the video title. Even if he was loaded it's still built by hand by him and his shop.
I love how Bisi is asking for Jays opinion. Like he's really trying to get feedback and make the car even better. Very honest guy you can tell. Love the car by the way. You can tell that car has a LOT of time in it. I'm bias thought since I love me old wagons with turbos (first wagon was a 1990 volvo 740 turbo) and anything 4WD/AWD.
@@Cheezus They are also RWD on those cars. I put lowering springs, swaybars, a computer chip, boost controller, and it really woke up the car. Could lay the seats completely flat for a bed in the back if you wanted. I once fit four 39/13.50-17 BFG tires in the back with the door shut.
One of world's best car tuners hands down ,eg oddesey j35a full worked fwd manual 6speed twin turbo 1000hp+ @ wheels, fully worked porsches turbo 800hp+, 1000hp fully worked k24/k20 civic wagon awd, all reliable done properly but still keeping it simple . He married to wife an got kids, he from Switzerland or Sweden- Nigerian origins, now resides in America now with his family and tuner shop.
May bad, forgot 2014 si civic run K24z, in nz & aus most civic's run k20a and honda accord run k24a & k20a, due to the fact that most of our imports come from Japan, but always like America honda/Acura variations old school ej civic coupe fast & furious 1s, think thats what started my passion 4 honda's.
Nah people will see it and think it's just another ricer with too many stickers when in reality its probably faster than a good amount of cars in jays garage
Right.. I remember the Ford Focus representative didnt know what size brakes it had.. and several other representatives didnt know the curb weight of the cars they were presenting etc etc.. I mean, if i was selected to present ANY car to Jay Leno, I would at-least make sure I read the brochure the night before!
Loving Bisi, he's so engaged, and when he talks about his car, he really gets excited. 😁 The audio quality is .. uhh .. challenged, during the drive, but I guess that's what happens in a car like that.
Bisi is a badass! He’s built and tuned many makes and models. If you guys want to see a mad scientist at work. Look up videos of his Honda Insight at the drag strip! Met this guy back in the day going to all the SFWD events. Genuine, honest and meticulous!
I remember when I was part of the honda-tech community around 2011 Bisi was selling headers that he claimed were "custom tailored for every engine setup" it was found out that was not the case. Dude is shady.
@boostedsil40 There are good reasons why every performance car uses disk brakes. The reason he didn't change them is because this is essentially a show car. It's this mixture of street and drag car that just shouldn't exist in my opinion. There is no reason to have a full cage and all the seats, if you care about anyone, you don't let them sit there. Really quick way to break someones skull, same with the three point seatbelts in the front. If you have a cage, you need racing harnesses, and to wear a helmet. Those brakes are probably fine for slowing down once after a run on the dragstrip, but they aren't adequate for 800hp fast in places with corners.
It took almost ten years of searching, but I recently got a completely bone-stock 1990 -door Civic with a 5-speed, red with black interior and less than 150,000 miles. The interior is flawless. Bisimoto's car is inspirational, thanks for posting the video.
This is what I love about the human race is how we can build anything from anything. This dude is awesome and I love how Jay loves all cars , trucks and bikes
@@VashStarwind He probably used 62A or 70A durometer mounts. I doubt he used 88A or 94A durometer mounts since it's not a race car. I installed 70A Hasport mounts on my all motor 1992 GSR when they were first released. My car made a little less than a fifth of the power this car makes. I still remember the dash vibration and the rattling of coins in the change tray. They increased traction when I would launch the car. Kind of surprised me. The car would spin up to the limiter when launching with stock mounts and I assumed it would spin worse with the decrease in engine movement. They helped decrease wheel spin from the limiter to around 5,700 RPM when launching at 4,500. The car even barked fourth gear a few times. It could bark third with 4 people in it. It was fully gutted besides the dash along with other weight taken out like cruise control and swapped from ABS to non-ABS. I can only imagine how quick that setup would have been in an EG HB or EF HB.
my favorite civic the ef/ee wagon, JDM heads, tuner heads, and overall car heads. Are going to like this one. 3:11 XD!!!!!! NGL i havent watched a vid of JLG in a while.....but this had me instantly. My man isnt just a tuner or a hot rodder hes a full blown engineer lol Respect to the ingenuity. Its so rare to find a custom honda done this well with so much sentiment to the results. 7:57 this dude knows his stuff. Think about how many variations of performance parts people invest into and howmany stock or factory specs he was able to keep intact. A true testament to his knowledge and application.
Man... I love bisi’s builds but this dudes smoking crack thinking that this car looks anything remotely like a sleeper lmao even if it had a hood on it 😂
I like the car a lot. I don't have to agree with everything he did and that's why this works. It's His concept of a great wagon and for that he gets respect.
Actually, aside from the missing front hood, interior rollcage and cooling discs on rear wheels, it would be hard to tell this was not a conventional early 90s Honda Civic wagon. I think Bisi got the grasp of the sleeper concept.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 The power to weight on this Civic is is exponentially higher than the Shogun. The civic also has all wheel drive and a sequential gear box. Because the final drive is setup for 1/8th of a mile drag racing on the Civic, the Shogun would pass it on the freeway. So, obvious..
The Shogun is awesome and I rather have it if given a choice between the two, but the civic wagon would blow it away. Not even close. It has around 500 more HP.
"...full roll-cage?" "Yep, I want the occupants to be very safe.!" - Yet he still leaves the factory drum brakes in the rear..... Not quite sure I totally get that mindset!
Well it's quite obvious you don't know much about braking, and weight balance. The majority of the weight is over the front wheels, and it only weighs probably mid 2k lb range, so with discs on the front, it'll stop no problem.
I like this man , he knows and studied British Touring Cars from the past ,a very clever guy not many in the US would think twice about Brit touring car racing most probably never heard of it lol
