🎯 How this BJJ Athlete conquered hip impingement/FAI/labral tear
👉 [READ BLOG] - www.gotrom.com...
😉 Guess what? I interviewed a BJJ Black Belt (Ariel Tabak) who conquered his hip pain using our TSR system...
...and it was AWESOME!
In this 21-minute interview, Ariel tells his inspiring story about how he healed his hips and overcame his labral tear using the TSR system and our free videos.
I wanted to share his story to give you inspiration and more real-world case studies of people conquering their hip problems and living their dreams.
🧐 Specifically, in this video you will learn:
Why Ariel DIDN'T choose hip surgery?
How was his labral tear affecting his jiu-jitsu?
Which exercises helped Ariel recover from a painful hip?
How did the TSR system help him return to BJJ full-time?
What did Ariel learn in physiotherapy school about FAI/labral tears?
What are his recommendations for anyone struggling with hip impingement/FAI/labral tears?
😃 Enjoy the video!

This video is insanely inspiring thanks 🙏 I had a question if you don’t mind. I’ve been dealing with FAI for almost 9 years now. I’ve had my ups and downs, but I feel that the tissue work is what I’ve been missing. I’ve been going at it for about 2 weeks now and my question is that is it pretty normal to feel pretty sore when you start tissue work, or is this a bad sign? Would appreciate some feedback thanks so much. Can’t thank you enough for your videos and the FAI fix Shane. Huge fan of yours and Matt’s 🤘

Yes, it's normal. Your body will adapt just like it adapts to stretching & strengthening.

Does this still apply when you have Mild to moderate Osteo arthritis? As I am being told to avoid hip flexion but I am enjoying my BJJ journey.

Hi Aimy! Good question. The FAI Fix is best for people who have FAI/Hip Pain. Mild to moderate osteoarthritis as the primary condition, with hip pain as a symptom may be a specialization that would be require a different approach to healing. Hope this helps you! Let me know!

I’m a purple belt two stripe who was kissing my brown belt. But had to stop because I tore my tendon on the foot almost a year ago. And then developed crazy hip pain. Now I’m doing my own rehab on everything and looking forward to getting back on the mat.

Was it your posterior tibialis tendon? That's what started my hip pain. It's been a nightmare.

Hey guys, been doing Jiu-jitsu for 14 years and my hips are shot which I think is also causing low back pain. It is especially prevalent in something like frog pose in yoga. I have a few of Shane’s programs but not the FAI fix. Is that my ticket out of pain?
@GotROM

The FAI Fix program has a LOT of depth. It also has a lot of intricate strengthening/re-education exercises which may compliment the more mobility-based Got ROM programs. Give it a shot!

Sorry to hear about your accident. 🙏 How long ago did this happen? Some videos here are valuable to someone who has hip problems and also jiu jitsu athletes like yourself. My Skype sessions might also be helpful if you want an in depth program. Here's the link to find out more: www.gotrom.com/store/tLTaJHAL

I tore my labrum in my R shoulder in 2019 and tweaked it yest in 2023, its not as bad as the first time around but i know i tore something. Gonna go see an ortho. Should i get surgery?
@GotROM

Before an invasive/expensive surgery, you should see what can be done with rehab/exercise. We can help you 1-on-1 with our VIP Mentorship program which is run by a Doctor of Physical Therapy who he himself has FAI/labral tears in his hips but learned how to overcome it. Check out gotrom.com/vip to see if you qualify for the program. Cheers!

Hi, I need direction. I have a FAI in my left hip, mostly likely in my right hip as well, but I found out after I tore my labrum in my left hip. Alpha angle is 69 degrees. The injury occured during one of my BJJ sessions. I have no intention to quit, but for right now I have to take it easy until I figure out the correct way forward. Right now I'm dealing with a weak hip flexor in my left hip. I can raise my knee to waist height but it doesn't take much for me to push it down with my hand, and of course there's the pain while pushing it down. I want to know if it will ever be possible to not have pain while pushing my knee back down and if I will ever have strength in my left hip flexor to match my right hip flexor. The other question has to do with a separate movement in BJJ. I was working on arm bar while in guard and I could do one side no problem but I couldn't do the other side at all. I'm not entirely certain what muscles are involved in this movement but I had a noticeable weakness. I was on my back, opponent in my guard, I moved right foot to opponents left hip, left foot/leg still around his back, and while holding his arm and biceps and extending my right leg I was trying to use the back of my left leg thats behind his head to push him to his left but I noticed I couldn't push him at all. Based one what you know about labral tears and the muscle movement I described, what muscle group is weak, why is it weak, and what do I need to do to regain strength there? I can't recall having a noticeable pain while doing this. Thanks!

I thought i was always stiff, but i now realise I wasn't after listening to this guy - it sorts of creeps up on you slowly. He said it clicked after so long of working which is what mine does - but maybe working on easier things first and building up listening to the body is the key to my work; in tune like he said. The yoga just wasn't enough for me. Bit scary at times - the woman i know who had a replacement is quite crippled now and all the old women neighbours limp from their surgeries; they are told to walk - but it just looks really bad!
@GotROM

Sorry to hear about your neighbors Janice. I hope they'll find their way to relieve their pain. How are you doing? Did you have some hip pain as well?

I'm doing the FIA fix have been for nearly a year and I am improving every day! I now have muscles in my thighs; despite the false knee (on the other leg to the impingement) which makes a kind of rigid imbalance with the body - I am still doing well and feeling stronger.

Having ROM and mobility (strength and flexibility within the ROM) is the key in my own experience. Most training methods today leads to either massive flexibility without mobility (Yoga) or massive strenght with lack of ROM leading to muscle imbalances.
@GotROM
@GotROM 3 года назад
Agreed! That's why I always advocate for a balanced (TSR-style) approach! What are you training for? What are your goals?
