they should have been much stronger than this like seriously what a 8k hp will do to a very end game zone boss ? if they are going to give bosses special theme then downplay them like dogs then they must leave them alone this is really ridiculous where the deserved and worthy get shit thrown in his face while the unworthy and undeserved have even more than what he should have

They really brought out the feeling that Malenia is a true master of finesse. That the cripple with rotting flesh fights the most beautifully is classic Miyazaki.

they got nerfed in the recent patches back then they had no cooldown

Three of the bosses somehow almost always win by cheese. Fire Giant is probably the worst of these since he relocates when he goes into 2nd stage (sometimes a ridiculous distance away), which screws over the AI of most of these battles. They start slow-walking towards him, which is just a bad idea since he builds into constant flaming bombardment... and somehow that tends to wreck large enemies and crowds alike.

Astel is the one I consistently enjoy see getting defeated in these videos 😂.

Cosmic centipede? Astel doesn’t have enough arms and body segments to be one. (I know way too many animal facts)

@@zanemob1429 If you really want to be technical about it, Astel looks more like an adult antlion than a centipede. It has wings and six legs unlike centipedes which have multiple body segments with one or two pairs coming from each segments.

Much like the Godskin Duo, Astel always seems to get wrecked by basically everything. Funny thing is... it isn't always the same Astel. Sometimes it is Naturalborn and sometimes Stars of Darkness... and I'm not sure why they get swapped up so much.

I've never seen the Godskin Duo win any of these battles. Not even once. And I've seen Rennala and Gideon win at least once each.

True but Melania 2nd phase is aoe and still has sutain, fire giant also can hit two at the same time and has the tank. Godfrey honestly was the big surprise for me!

I'm so sick of him winning against almost everything. Like every single crowd battle ends with him just AoEing the entire battlefield and killing everything simultaneously. And most of the tougher ones die because he never flinches and they do.

That is why everyone baits out her attacks before doing anything themselves. It makes her fight horribly repetitive. I've been helping people kill her all day today. The only time the hosts ever die is when they get aggressive. It's hilarious. As soon as anyone begins pressuring her, she just activates turbo animation cancels into infinite hyperarmor and begins spamming either the clone attack, Aeonia, or Waterfowl. Meanwhile if all you do is bait a downward slam, sweep or thrust and then punish it with one massive hit, rinse repeat, she's timid as a cow. She needs to be balanced. Badly.

@@TheStraightestWhitest what I’ve learned is to not punish her with an aow, even after baiting out her shadow clone attack. That was my downfall. Because she does not leave room for anything heavy. Actually even after she is done with clone attack it is not safe to punish her with aow or heavy charge attack. Only an R1 is safe, if it can close the distance, which is not often, but if it reaches then she will stagger. If it is something like what the gargoyle here did, like blasphemous blade ash of war, let alone maliketh blade aow, she will jump into the air before animation completed again and does God knows what. Yes, even after something as impressive as clone attack she will fly into the air to do something, and sometimes ive seen videos again after that. The third combo can even be a waterfowl, while the second is probably something lighter, in which case sometimes not even a thrust swipe or slam is safe for aow. But it is very hard to not get greedy after surviving something like clone attack. My instinct is that it is a room for punishment, and i always worry that a simple R1 is not enough of an offense because the longer she survives the less likely i would I am talking of course about phase two. First phase she is very kind. But even first phase she sometimes does not stagger after waterfowl, so i do ranged aow while the last echo of slash flurry is on its way so i can dodge on time after. If i wait until waterfowl is completed i might get kicked instead

That red windy effect is similar to the one caused by Maliketh and the Black Knives. If you've tried wielding Maliketh's Blade or the Black Blade yourself, they do basically the same thing. Destined Death weapons will melt almost everything.

Resistance to holy/slash damage, weak to sorcery

I find them much harder because they are much more difficult to dodge and feel like they have six times the amount of poise he does.

"We"? Aren't we supposed to be rooting for the Black Blades? I was. Malenia going over the attack just because she happened to go up into the air at the right time was such utter fluke. Hated it. Did the black blades a major injustice.

His attack hitboxes ? Yeah they're weird, I guess they didn't bother giving hitboxes to the full bowl

She is the most popular boss in the game, it would be weird to leave her out just because she is OP.

Well these are all just tiny fragments of it. In fact the Gargoyles don't even wield any of it, just a sort of lingering essence. Considering how terrifying the mere leftovers of it already is, I'd say it's pretty lore accurate. The full force of Death would one shot.

Usable by players you mean? Because the effect really isn't that strong against the player since it's percentage damage. Malenia's lifesteal, animation cancels, infinite poise, and Scarlet Rot, are all worse to combat.

@@TheStraightestWhitest Nope, Malenia can hit you 2-3 times and you'll be fine. 1 Hit from Maliketh or the Black Knives or the Black Kindred and you pretty much dead. That junk kills you way faster than Malenia. And Malenia's Rot attacks are easy to avoid, you'll barely ever get rotted by Malenia.
