Hi. I made them this morning. I usually run clear from cake recipes with oil, but decided to try this one. As I expected, the cakes reek of vegetable oil. There is no odorless and flavorless oil. It doesn’t matter if it is canola, safflower, peanut.. yeech!! It ruins anything that not oriental savory food. Would you have a ratio for melted butter? The icing was too runny even after an hour waiting time. I had to add another half cup of sugar and it was sweeet. Maybe it is the Brazilian sugarcane sugar. I’ll try using cream or cream cheese next time. Liked it a lot, though. Thanks for the recipe.
Not sure if this is true but I heard the frosting gets darker when using melted butter. It might turn brown instead of black when you don't melt the butter but I haven't tried so not sure
