'But, black dynamite, I sell drugs in the community!' - I love this line so much, the delivery is perfect, full on concerned shop owner; 'oh no, my business model!'
To be fair, any sort of industry that makes enough money kind of needs to have meetings like this. These men sell a commodity like any other and standard economic rules still apply.
A production that everyone involved with can be legitimately proud of, until the end of time. I swear this movie, is legitimately art. A masterpiece. Anyone who hasn't seen it is doing themselves a major disservice.
@@Ibepoppenpoppins suit yourself, bruh. This is easily one of the funniest movies period. Every time I see it, I find something new to appreciate. That is the mark of an excellent movie.
The Lawful Neutral Paladin: I'm declaring war on anyone who sells drugs in our community. The Party Rogue: But Black Dynamite, I sell drugs to the community.
Its also brilliant because the shot of him reveal that there is appearantly loads of character in on the other side of the room, that the ”director” just forgot to show before that shot. The room looked so small before that shot and now suddenly its massive
And then the subsequent wide shot where we see that Captain Kangaroo pimp and his entourage, as well as the background behind them that seems to be part of a different room entirely, have been just off screen the entire time
Movie is a masterpiece. They've packed so much into this film and it requires multiple viewings. I've seen this scene about 10 times and just noticed the dude behind Captain Kangaroo Pimp trying to awkwardly slip out the cracked sliding door when Black Dynamite shows up.
this movie is the greatest movie ever. I saw it for the first time at a friend's house recently. I laughed the whole way through. definitely in my top five movies of all time.
It was really organic how he showed up at just the right moment at just the right time in the scene in order to say just the right thing and then leave. Movie magic.
“Hell no nigga. I can’t ‘dig it.’ Now who you supposed to be??” *Black Dynamite eyes roll* 😂😂😂😂😂 Update: YOOOOOOO! I didn’t realize that was Crenshaw Pete right next to Bokeem Woodbine this whole time!!🤣🤣🤣
Black Dynamite has saved so many people and done so much it’s no wonder anyone with a brain shows him respect. Hell he’s probably saved some of the cats in that room.
If you are a fan of Blaxploitaion and have seen all of the movies, in particular Dolemite and Willie Dynamite, then you have no choice but to appreciate this movie. I took a Black Film Studies Course in College and my Professor covered all of the Blaxploitation films, which solidified my Fandom of the genre. I don't think this film just it's just due. So much of it calls for knowing the joke... For example, the real Captain Kangaroo is wearing the same shit he had on in his children's show... Not to mention you had to see Willie Dynamite to understand this scene to begin with. This damn movie had me crying laughing from beginning to the end! The poor editing is a homage to Dolemite. Hilarious movie!
I cant believe how many of the lines from this movie became permanent fixtures in my dialog some fifteen years later. I went on to be a russian linguist so its a mix of blacksploitation and bubushka idioms on top of a deep southern upbringing.
This whole scene is a parody of the Willie Dynamite scene where they have a pimp council meeting, just like this one. Maybe a little too old of a reference for you to catch.
